A few friends and I all work from home right now and decided to work from a much more beautiful home. We had an unforgettable week at Center Cove!

The house itself is roomy and well-equipped with a “hunting lodge” vibe. It has all the kitchen essentials you could need and more to create gourmet family dinners. The Adirondack chairs on the wraparound porch are a perfect spot for brunch or unwinding in the evening.

The house was clean and well-organized, the beds were comfortable (we pulled names out of a hat to see who got the giant king bed!). Bedding and towels, soap and paper products were provided. Ceiling fans in every room kept things cool. We also brought box fans for extra cooling and white noise (ahem, some of us snore). The Indian Hill Trading Post (Shop n Save) is less than 3 miles away and has additional essentials.

The dock and lake access are incredible. We spent most of our non-working time on pool floats in the lake (from Indian Hill Trading Post!) We were happily surprised that a northern Maine lake was so warm. The water was so clear. Wading in it’s a bit rocky, so recommend water shoes or flip flops. The lake is eastern facing so peak sunshine is morning to mid afternoon in August. The fire pit was perfect for evening campfire games or singalongs. Very well-supplied with firewood.

If you are planning work remotely, know that the WiFi signal is very weak in the Moosehead area. At peak performance, we got 6mbps, which we would max out if if two people were on video calls at the same time. The issue was the strength of the signal coming in, not the equipment provided. Obviously, WiFi is not the main draw for the Moosehead Region. Better suited for truly enjoying the outdoors!

We would absolutely go back to this house, as long as no more than two of us had to be working. A cozy house in a gorgeous location!
