This cabin on the water has a wonderful view, a very comfortable bed and great shower pressure, which are all very helpful in a successful vacation. I was also surprised that I really didn't have any Wi-Fi issues because they clearly warn you about potential problems. Only once in 6 days did I have a Wi-Fi problem and it didn't last long. This location also offers easy access to groceries, restaurants and recreation options.

The Rockwood Cabin on Moosehead Lake offers clear water just steps away and delivers the ideal lakeside experience, wrapped in modern comfort. We felt an instant connection to Moosehead Lake. Several deer walked through the expansive lawn at dusk, and a river otter frolicked in the water. The eagle's nest was visible on Hogback Island, and we observed the last eaglet perching high above the water. The outdoor deck, overlooking the water, offered unfettered views of the massive lake. Watching wildlife was delightful, while we enjoyed our morning coffee. The standout for this cabin was a dog friendly environment, and our little Gracie loved it here! The remodeled bedrooms offer amazingly comfortable sleeping quarters, and the remodeled bathroom is ample and includes a bench. The cabin is well stocked with plenty of cooking/grilling utensils, bathroom towels, beach towels, games, and an extremely helpful cabin resource book. Wi-Fi/cell/tv services worked well; bring your favorite CDs, there is a stereo system! The outdoor amenities were fantastic. The large stone-lined fire pit offers comfortable seating, a picnic table sits directly next to the barbeque grill, the lower deck provides ample seating and overlooks the long dock, complete with a swimmer's ladder. Kayaking and swimming in Moosehead Lake was a much-needed respite for us and the water temperature was amazingly warm. On the lake, Mt. Kineo sports a stunning, dramatic 800-foot sheer cliff peninsula rising directly out of the water. Greenville, ME is a short drive and offers local family-owned stores, outfitters, and markets. King's Ice Cream is a local staple, and Whit's End Fisheries and Seafood Market is a necessary stop, if you love fresh seafood (caught locally) to include lobster, steamers, oysters, clams, and mussels! The Moosehead Family Farmers Market sells locally sourced fruits, vegetables, baked goods, and an assortment of locally handmade crafts. Some of us are history buffs and veterans; so, touring the B-52 crash site Memorial on Elephant Mountain, was a somber and informative trip. Kelly's Landing, (Greenville Junction), is pet friendly, offers good food and the outdoor seating overlooks scenic Moosehead Lake. I cannot say kind enough words about our hosts Jeff and Nancy. They took time to explain the local history of Moosehead Lake and shared many of their own experiences. Our hosts provided us with an extra-large lobster pot and lent us reading material about Moosehead Lake. They also recommended sites to see, and worthwhile restaurants to visit. We are humbled by your generosity and graciousness. Thank you for lending to our most fabulous vacation!

Quiet and peaceful location and and comfortable for a Maine "camp." We've been twice and have loved it!
