Heavenly A-Frame with several decks - it's like two cabins in one!

This idyllic and recently renovated Idyllwild home sleeps up to five, has air conditioning and a fantastic SONOS music system, and offers all the comforts of home in a great location.

Please note that this property may not be suitable for families traveling with young children, as the elevated deck has wider than normal gaps between the railing.

Escape daily stresses, stargaze in the crystal clear mountain night skies, and hide away in the beautiful forests of Idyllwild. This lovely mountain town is a great place to bring the family or a group of friends for an intimate vacation. Bring your hiking boots and explore nearby trails, or head one mile away into the main hub of Idyllwild. The easy picturesque Ernie Maxwell Trail is accessed directly from this cabin in just 10 minutes.

Vaulted ceilings and beautiful natural pine/cedar wood covering the walls and floors create a rustic and homey space to truly enjoy the mountains and nature during your getaway. The European style air-conditioner/heater in the main cabin quickly adjusts the temperature for you in just minutes. Enjoy a well-maintained, recently renovated (Spring 2015) A-frame for the quintessential mountain experience!

This rental is made up of the upper cabin, which is the main portion plus a loft, and a fully equipped studio on the lower level, with a separate private entrance.

This lower studio is great for a couple wanting a little extra privacy, and can be accessed via the outside deck as well as the new interior staircase that connects it to the upper level. A queen-size bed sits next to a three-quarter bathroom with a shower. A small kitchenette with a sink, tea/coffee maker, mini-fridge, and microwave make storing snacks and low-prep meals a snap. Pack extra light and take advantage of the stacked washer and dryer in the corner. This lower level even has its own shady-covered deck with grand views of the mountains and sunsets. Owners have seen many deer come onto the property from this vantage point!

Everybody can head out to the main deck for a delicious meal enjoyed out on the large wrap-around main balcony, which sports to-die-for sunset views. A gas grill, patio dining table for six, and Adirondack chairs offer plenty of seating options so you can soak up all the gorgeous sunny weather. The kids will love running around the yard and playing. (Please note that the yard is unfenced.

The main house has a comfortable living room with a wood fireplace, casual sofas, and a fantastic SONOS music system. Take an afternoon nap, dive into a good book, and catch up with fellow travelers while dinner is being prepared in the recently renovated open kitchen. Two flatscreen smart TVs with cable and Netflix streaming are provided so you can have movie nights. And looking up directions or checking your email is easy with the in-home WiFi.

The wood dining table is great for sit-down meals (six chairs provided) and endless hours of laughter and friendly competition from a favorite board game, (several also provided). The special SONOS sound system in each room can be individually controlled by smartphone, to access thousands of channels via Pandora and Spotify, so it's easy to find the perfect background music for an evening of fun.

Bring along fresh ingredients to whip up meals in the full kitchen. Major appliances are included, as is a microwave, dishwasher, six ways to make your coffee, blender, toaster, and mixer, even a pizza stone. Use the recently renovated butcher block countertops to prep ingredients. Even big holiday meals will be a breeze here!

One bedroom with a plush queen-size bed is just down the hallway, next to a full bathroom, with tub/shower combo. And the loft area holds a full-size futon, which is best for a young adult or two kids (and is the owner’s favorite place for great naps!). The loft area is carpeted and perfect for board games. With two queen beds, a futon, and queen sofabed available, there is space for all six guests.

Start your morning off with a hike up to the adjacent National Forest, just steps away, or visit the Idyllwild Nature Center for an easy stroll. Linger on the large deck to watch/listen for wildlife and of course take in the gorgeous sunsets and moonrises. Rent mountain bikes in town and take a tour on nearby paths and trails. Shop in town for the perfect souvenir; sit down for a meal at an Italian, Asian, Mexican, or fusion restaurant; or take the group to see a movie. There's something close by to appease every outdoor enthusiast.

Try something new and consider this charming Southern California mountain cabin.

This cabin is the best of both worlds. It has a cozy, rustic feel but it has all the modern amenities you could need. We loved the view from the balcony... the Sonos sound system... the fully-stocked kitchen... it made for a wonderful getaway. Our only request would be to the cleaning crew- it smelled so strongly of Febreeze. Both of us are very sensitive to chemical smells, so we opened all the windows to air it out. By the end of the second day it smelled much better! Overall, a true blessing!

We have my hubby’s birthday weekend in this lovely place, the house is cleaned and quiet, 3br is perfect for 2kids family. We can feel the owner’s take good care of the property. The electricities are similar as we use at home, really convinence to use.

This was a great cabin, located about a mile from town. Everything was well kept and was in great condition. I'd recommend it to anyone!

My kids and I stayed a couple of days here and had a wonderful time. It was so relaxing and everyone in the town was so hospitable. Morgan was great and explained everything about the cabin. The house had everything we needed! Thank you!!

Had a wonderful time...very relaxing. The home was beautiful and had all the amenities that we needed for a weekend away. The size of the home afforded us privacy but still kept a cozy feel. Would come again.

We stayed here for a 3-day weekend with 2 good friends. The kitchen was well-amenitied as we spent a lot of time cooking and lounging around the cabin. We love Idyllwild because there's not a lot of "action" that beckons, so when we go we really like to just relax in the space where we're staying. This home was perfect for this. Zero complaints.

Cozy, fantastic views.
We love this house!

This home is very nice. The Sonos music system was really nice to have. The beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with nice appliances. There are a lot of stairs to climb at both entrances and also from the living room area to the downstairs suite, and from the living room to the loft. Both balconies need a lot of repair. The wood deck as well as the hand rails are splintering and could cause injury . I would not suggest this home for any young children. Too many stairs and the balcony is not safe for small children.
Manager response:
We are very pleased the guests appreciated the home and some of its many wonderful features. The owner has scheduled a refurbishing of the deck after the winter. In the meantime, the home's description does include mention of the elevated deck and the need for families to take the proper safety measures when bringing young children. We would also like to point out there are no stairs to climb at the main entrance for the home. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a beautiful and very well-appointed house that's in a perfect location. Will definitely come back.

The cabin is in a great location, walking distance (less than 1 mile) to the village and also close to trails. Has great view of the mountain. Everything was very clean and it was really nice that the cabin had Netflix and Sonos sound system!!
The separate bedrooms (upstairs and downstairs) give privacy, which worked perfect for us (2 couples). As other reviewers said, there were signs all over the place, but it didn't really bother us much. Overall, we had such a great time in this cabin as well as the area!!! Definitely coming back!

Fantastic audio system. All heaters and A/C are working. parking is right next to the cabin in short distance to the cabin (upper story front door) . Spent 4 days Dec 26 thru Dec 30. Place is very beautiful. Very well stocked. Enjoyed a wonderful stay. Very close to Village. Place was decorated for Xmas. Bottom studio was great for my teenager. Washer and dryer a definate plus! New addition of inside access to bottom unit. Not really suitable for small children property on a steep slant. Yes there was signs here and there, but no big deal. Definate pride of ownership makes this place a very well maintained place to spend time away with loved ones. We brought all our food, firewood, bring fire starters and had a very special time there. Definatley going back. Vacasa was very accommodating and property Mgr was also great. Thank you!

Our family really enjoyed our time at Bel-Idy. It was a perfect place for our So Cal beach group to enjoy the beautiful snow covered view while staying warm by the fire. The kitchen was fantastic! If you like to cook you're going to love the quality equipment.

A little biased because we got engaged here. Highly recommend the Bee Canyon to Pine Cove off roading trail!

We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to go back. The cabin felt like home the minute we arrived. We easily prepared our family Thanksgiving Dinner for six in the kitchen. Our adult children and spouses were so comfortable and we had our own little getaway too. The towels and beds were top notch. We really loved the sound system! Thank you to the owners for sharing their home.

Nice cabin. Great separate downstairs with own deck, modern but feels like nice hotel. Cabin was under construction during our stay to add a staircase inside cabin - Vacasa did not tell us property would have a construction zone; that was annoying. At any rate, future guests will enjoy the luxury of downstairs access from inside the cabin and will not have to go down from outside.

It's true there are notes everywhere, on everything. I knew this going in, so was prepared to ignore them. Some notes are helpful, some are complete overkill, but we were able to overlook the "rules, rules, rules" feeling they present.

Property is on a corner but street is quiet for the most part. Neighbors are mostly residents of Idyllwild.

Pet friendly, which is always nice! Washer/dryer, so can pack light. Nice amenities (blow dryer, coffee makers, espresso machine, nice cook wear, wood burning stove, etc). Clean. Nice towels and fantastic bedding. Amazing multi-room sound system! And adequate heating.

...just make sure Vacasa doesn't screw up your check-in process. Ours was terribly disorganized, causing us to wait at property and lost rental time which they did not try to recover in any way. That's not the cabin's fault, though...

Nice, peaceful, relaxing Idyllwild cabin!
Manager response:
We apologize that check-in was a touch disorganized for this reservation; unfortunately, we were not able to compensate for the lost hour due to guests checking in immediately following this guest's stay.

Great place to just get away from the busy life of the city or work. The music system and internet work great so you can keep up with the rest of the world while still having peaceful surrondings.
Carla M. Jul 2016
We loved staying at BEL IDY! The cabin is gorgeous, and we appreciated having all of the conveniences of home (kitchen stocked with appliances & cookware, clean linens & comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms & living areas) while on our mountain get-a-way.
Thank you, Vacasa!

My son and I just spent a few days in a cabin in Idlyllwild. We had a fantastic time,. Vacasa had organized our stay beautifully, and every Vacasa person i talked to was polite and very helpful. We did not have to worry about anything. The super clean and spacious cabin was even more beautiful than the pictures, the kitchen was extremely well equipped. I highly recommend Vacasa if you want to be very well taken care of and enjoy your vacation without any worries!

Rented this cabin for a few nights for our family of 4. Plenty of space for a small family with nice amenities (flat screen t.v., stereo, bbq, A/C).
The location of the cabin did not suit our needs. With 7 year old twins, we love Idyllwild to get out and enjoy the outdoors. This cabin is located on a corner/steep lot with not much room for the little ones to get out and explore. Would be great for a couple (or two) of adults wanting a nice quiet cabin to get away.
Have rented other cabins in Idyllwild with Vacasa that are great also. Will probably try a different cabin next time for the kids.

Our stay was decent. The walls were basically just wooden planks - you could see through them in some places to the next room. Not a big deal, but the biggest detriment was... the signs. They are everywhere. Most of them are unnecessary, unpleasant, and create an oppressive environment that does not make for a relaxing vacation. Guests need to be trusted to use the appropriate amount of water and to turn off the AC. Not being allowed to put toilet paper in the toilet and the 3-4 minute shower maximum is just not my idea of a relaxing vacation. Some of them were just downright silly - like the reminder to turn off the faucet. A better approach would be to just fix the faucet so that it's not so hard to turn off! The kitchen was very well-equipped, the sound system was impressive (especially if we didn't have little kids and could have used it), staff was very responsive, but I would not return to this cabin because of the rules posted all over the cabin.

HI Highly recommend Vacasa!
Our cabin was beautiful and we enjoyed every single minute of our stay.
Noelle R. May 2016
The upstairs of this cozy a-frame is the perfect was the perfect romantic retreat for my husband and me to have our annual goal-setting weekend. As an added bonus this year, the separate downstairs apartment meant we were able to invite other family members to join us for a segment of the trip, and still maintain the feel of a private retreat. Bel-Idy combines just the right blend of cabin kitsch with electric art. We especially enjoyed the Sonos sound system throughout.
Leticia S. May 2016
My sisters and I were very pleased with the cabin, well maintain and clean. The kitchen had everything, I was just like being at home. We will definitely be back.
Robert J. Apr 2016
There are stickers EVERYWHERE; lights turned off? Heater off? Faucet off? Unplug this, unplug that. These stickers are obnoxious. Nobody called us back when we were having problems with something. No hot water in the room downstairs. Very disappointed with the company and the way you're told to do very common things.
Manager response:
We apologize that the friendly reminders were a nuisance for your group, and we are very sorry that nobody responded in a timely fashion when you called about the hot water. The Property Manager will inspect the water problem right away, and Vacasa is hiring more hands on the phones so that we are easier to reach when guests need assistance.
Dylan L. Apr 2016
This home is absolutely beautiful. clean and well maintained. everything is very modern and updated. very close to all activities and local spots in town. so much to do and plenty of room in this home to have your own space if you go with others! We will definitely be back to explore the area more and take advantage of this gorgeous home again! You won't be disappointed by any means!!!!
Meredith M. Apr 2016
This property is wonderful! The furnishings are great...memory foam beds, Sonos sound system throughout the house, everything you need in the kitchen, and the little downstairs apartment is outfitted wonderfully! Great place----would definitely recommend to others.
Justin M. Apr 2016
I will be back here soon! Such an amazing experience! This owner went above and beyond what other vacation rental owners typically do in stocking their cabin. For instance, there were more pots, pans, and small appliances than I could use! The TV here was huge compared to most cabins. Normally in other cabins, there is a lack of lighting, here there was almost too many lights! Appliances are all new and very good quality brand names! Internet was super fast! Everything was done REALLY well!
