Beautiful luxury wine country riverfront house on the Pedernales - dog-friendly!

In the heart of the Texas Hill Country and the Fredericksburg wine country, in a stunning setting just feet from the Pedernales River, is this dog-friendly, modern Texas home surrounded by acres of shady oak and pecan trees, deer and abundant wildlife, and country serenity. Whether you are looking for a getaway with someone special or want to gather with friends or family, there is no other place in the Hill Country that can match the riverside beauty and the unique wine country location of this luxury vacation rental.

Even with the charming German town of Fredericksburg just an eight-minute drive away you may never want to leave this incredible three-bedroom, three-bath, two-story Texas paradise. Each bedroom has a king-size bed and a breathtaking view of the river or the grounds, and there is a loft with adult-friendly bunk beds and upscale mattresses that sleeps six. Two more guests can sleep in two rollaway beds. This home is truly stunning with a white stone exterior, 20-foot vaulted ceilings in the main living area, tile floors, and unique Texas decor.

If you decide to venture out, within four miles of the gate you’ll find 17 wineries, a German brewery, the Wild Seed Farm, and famous Luckenbach where you can drink beer under the oak trees, western dance, and listen to the music. The main street in Fredericksburg is just eight miles away, where you’ll discover incredible shops, museums, live music, and food from barbecue to steaks to cosmopolitan dining. There's also ample wine tasting opportunities and a micro brewery. If you want to take short day trips, you can hike at Enchanted Rock State Park, visit the Bat Tunnel State Park, follow the river five miles to LBJ National Park, or visit Austin and San Antonio 70 miles away.

After a thrilling day you can enjoy the private sauna, or grab a glass of your favorite wine and relax on one of the covered patios to listen to the sounds of the river and watch the sky change colors. Bring binoculars, since you're sure to see an abundance of diverse wildlife that lives on the property, including deer, antelope, wading birds, hawks, turkeys, and much more.

If you decide not to enjoy dinner out, you can prepare your own in the well-equipped gourmet kitchen with ample granite counters and a separate dining area. Stainless steel major appliances are accompanied by a dishwasher, microwave, and even smaller appliances like blender, toaster, and slow cooker. Caffeine lovers, rejoice - there are four different ways to brew coffee! Just bring your ingredients and everything from five-course meals to plates of appetizers are a snap. There is a large open fire pit overlooking the river where steaks, chicken or burgers can be cooked, and also a portable propane grill.

After dinner, you’ll have trouble deciding whether to return to the patio to listen to the night sounds of the river, or go inside to enjoy music or watch a movie on one of the three televisions with satellite. You'll also have WiFi and a DVD library. And don’t stay up too late, since there is nothing better than coffee at sunrise watching wildlife on a Texas river.

The home is dog-friendly (with a 25-pound weight limit and nightly pet fee) and welcomes children. It is available for weddings, reunions, or special events by separate arrangement - please call Vacasa for more details.

The River House is not just a place to stay, it is truly an experience. Your special someone, family, or friends will count the days until they can come back and do it all over again.

The house and property are beautiful and immaculately maintained! There are 3 rooms, each with a double bed, but it also has a landing with 3 twin bunk beds (6 total twins), plus 2 rollaway beds stored in the closet. I was very impressed not only with the house, but with the beautiful grounds. The owner has little manicured sitting areas set up through the property, which is a nice touch. The wildlife refuge that leads to the house has cows, antelope, and a variety of birds, which adds to the experience. Highly recommend!

Excellent and beautiful property!!

We spent 2 nights here celebrating a milestone birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the house, grounds and proximity to town. The house easily accommodated 10 adults in style and comfort. I have plans to reserve again in the near future.

This was a great location for 4 kids under the age of 7.....amazing memories!

A group of ten gals stayed here last weekend and we absolutely loved the property. It was close to all the fun wineries and to town but felt secluded and private once on the property. The river running behind the home was gorgeous. Rooms were spacious, comfortable beds, and enough bathrooms for a big crew. Kitchen was well stocked and spacious enough to bring in a chef to cook us a private dinner in the home. We loved the house and would recommend for families, big groups, girls weekends, couples trips etc. It checks all the boxes!

House is great for medium size groups. Response to minor maintenance issues was excellent. Lovely grounds with many birds and animals.

We loved the location a little outside of town. The house is beautiful. It is hard to understand conversation in the great room, as everything echoes very badly. Overall everything was great!

It is misleading to say there is a 4th bedroom/bunk room in the house. There are 6 child sized bunk beds shoved into an alcove on the stair landing overlooking the great room. There is no privacy and only one bathroom upstairs. Very disappointing/bait and switch. We had to put several of our guests in a separate hotel in Fredericksburg at significant expense. On the plus side, the butterfly garden in front of the home was lovely, as was the back patio and the view of the river.
Manager Response:
We're sorry the guest felt misled by not reviewing the entire listing page for this home. It is not advertised as a 4 bedroom house. The listing clearly states a 3-bedroom setup with a loft area. The photo gallery will be reviewed to determine if updates are necessary. Thank you.

We had 4 generations of family for a mini vacation. The home is beautiful. The grounds are amazing. The deer and the antelope played, literally. My family said this is one of best places we have ever stayed.

Our first destination family reunion was a huge success due mainly to the River House! The layout of the house and surrounding property provided ample space for relaxing, eating, exploring, and visiting! It allowed our family members who came from as far away as New York to spend valuable time together and renew family bonds with their Texas relatives!! The loft was perfect for the children, the fire pit was used for s'mores, the Pedernales River and 56 acres were explored with excitement! The home was definitely a Memory Maker!

Big property. Great location amongst the vineyards and proximity to town. Nice that it's a wildlife reserve. House was big and met our needs for 10 of us (5 adults, 5 kids) celebrating my mom's 80th. But...the price was too steep when you add up all the extra expenses. We rented this property once but we won't rent it again. If money is no object to you, knock yourself out, rent it. You'll love it.

This property is an amazing place to stay......not only inside but also outside. The house is very well stocked and very clean. We really didn't want to leave the property to go into Fredericksburg...but we did....we needed WINE !!

Very nice!

The Home was beautiful and very private with the perdernalas river behind it and antelope playing in the fields. So restful yet close enough to town that you never had to cook if you didn't want to but a full kitchen was available if you wished to never leave home. I loved it there.

We rented the house to have a bachelorette weekend. This house was plenty big for 12 girls. This house has gorgeous views and is on a river. It is really in the best location to get to the wineries which is only miles away and to get to town for some shopping. Its an absolutely impressive home to stay at and would recommend anyone to stay.

Great place to sit back and relax. Whether your inside person or outside person this house can accommodate. Very relaxing weekend.

This was literally the most beautiful place I think I've ever stayed at. We booked this home for a girls weekend away and none of us could get enough of it. Each day we started our mornings on the back deck drinking coffee and listening to the water and wildlife all around us. This property will remind you of how blessed we are to be living in God's country... defiantly a piece of heaven.
An added plus, the Trade Day event was less than a half a mile down the road and Fredericksburg was only about 10 miles away.
