My husband and I loved this place, it was just what we needed.

This was our honeymoon and couldn’t have been better! The cabin was perfect. Clean and welcoming! We loved the benches by the river, we spent early mornings there.
Ronda B. Aug 2022
Well I wish there was better lighting and the coach and chair need to be updated. I enjoy cross stitching and not enough lighting to do that very well! Had to stack pillows on coach to try and still had a wrench in my back!! So bought salonpas!! We never could figure put how to shut off ceiling fan. Other than that it was quiet and nice.
Manager response:
Hi, Ronda! We appreciate you choosing to stay with us The lighting and couch will be inspected for improvements. Thanks!
Billie M. Jul 2022
The cabin was great! We had everything we needed. We were in a beautiful location. It was good to escape the Texas heat. It rained most of the time we were there, but we enjoyed that too. We haven't had rain in a

The snow and the scenery were wonderful. There is a small coffee shop on the outskirts of South Fork that is great!

We stayed at this beautiful Amish cabin several times a few years ago when it was managed on site by Justin and Jennifer. It was great having someone on site to shovel the trails, provide wood, check your hot tub and provide additional supplies for a week long stay.
That being said, the check in time of 4:00PM is too late, especially if you need to unload and go back 12 miles to town to purchase supplies. Upon entry, I noticed the floors in the cabin were dirty and warped. They provided 2 rolls of toilet paper, no Kleenex, 2 kitchen towels, 3 soap pods for a 7 day stay and firewood came 2 days later. The cabin has some housekeeping issued.

There is NO cell service and you have to drive about 5 miles for reception. The main concern we had was there were no coverings on a full length glass door and half length door in the den. At night, you could see directly into the cabin and into the bathroom. I attempted to call Vacasa, but no cell reception which means limited/no 911 calls for emergency. It seems for almost $300 a night and $600 in fees we should not have to have towels and sheets in the holes where the coverings used to be. I called Vacasa the next morning from town. "Mike" apologized about the issue and told me that a work order would be initiated and that the lack of supplies was due to it was just a "starter kit", and we needed to supply the rest, which we did.
We never heard back from Vacasa during our remaining 6 day stay by text or e-mail or phone or since we have been home, There were other issues, including housekeeping, that will be addressed with this management company. The property is very beautiful and we had a nice stay in spite of lack of concern for our safety

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The cabin was clean and so comfortable. The area is so incredible for hiking as well as relaxing. We cannot wait to come back here to celebrate our next special occasion.
AMY M. Oct 2021
We stayed here to visit the Sand Dunes National Park. It comfortably slept 6 adults. The Hot tub was fantastic. Take short showers because the hot water runs out quickly with 6 showering. Everything we needed!

This was my second time staying at this property and I'm sure I will return again! It's clean and well-maintained and has a perfect location that feels remote yet is conveniently located off of US-160 with lots of hiking and outdoor recreation nearby. The cabin is spacious and super adorable many amenities and ample outdoor space to explore and relax.

Hearing the river next to us was peaceful and the hot tub was so relaxing!
Bradley G. Mar 2021
The cabin is very pretty but the wifi signal is poor at best. The plan was for my kids to work on their virtual school school in the evenings but the wifi reception was so weak they could not make a stable connection. Anything video related simply won't work nor would uploading or downloading. We did find that from a corner in the cabin we could connect to wifi for email purposes but even that was sporadic. There are instructions in the cabin that explain the poor reception but this would have been nice to know before we booked the cabin. To make matters worse there was no cell reception from AT&T either so hotspots wouldn't work either.

If you goal it to completely disconnect then this is the place for you!

Great location near South Fork and tons of hiking trails. The cabin was adorable and immaculately clean and had all the amenities we needed for our stay including a BBQ for grilling on the porch. Highly recommend!

Great little cabin for a getaway. Beautiful setting next to a river, hot tub was great and my wife especially liked the wood burning stove.
Sonia E. Jul 2020
The cabin backs up to the woods, has fishing and hiking on property, and is a short distance from scenic drives!
Wayne H. Jun 2020
Beautiful accommodations and breath-taking views
Philip R. Jun 2020
The moose cabin is just what we hoped for. The setting is gorgeous, the river runs just behind and the forest is at the front door, what more could you ask? The cabin has everything you need including a space heater for the chilly mornings. Each cabin has its own fire ring and you can bring the porch chairs down to sit next to the fire. The hot tub is nicely located on the porch for easy access. The town of Southfork is a short 12-minute drive away, there is a good pizza/tap house and Mexican restaurant. Rainbow is the grocery store there, a bit pricey but they have everything you could need, we were quite surprised.

Both the Moose and Coyote are across the river bridge and by themselves. Moose is a tad closer to the river, Coyote is a tad more private. BEWARE: Although this is advertised as a cabin with wifi, it does not have internet. We connected to the appropriate network and use the password as provided. All our devices indicated that we were connected but we never got a signal. We called multiple times but the recording stated that the wait time was over two hours. We sent multiple emails and texts. We received only one reply to our text which directed us to make certain we were connected to the correct network which we shared with them that yes, we were connected to their network but still no connectivity. So again, multiple emails, text and phone calls but never heard back. Every morning we would drive to the town of South Fork to connect to internet.

Each morning we witnessed the occupants in the neighboring cabins load into their car in search of internet as well. Vacasa’s tagline is “we’re here for you every step of the way. With around-the-clock customer support” Clearly this is NOT the case. If they are short staffed for some reason and not able to provide the full experience, there should be a reduction in rate to compensate. Book this cabin for the wilderness experience. If you need internet, stay away. Would not book with this management company again.
Manager response:
Hello, Philip! Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the home overall during your stay with us! We are sorry that you had trouble reaching a member of our team at the peak of the pandemic. We have worked hard to add additional agents to our team and are pleased to note that we are once again able to assist all of our guests in a timely manner, regardless of the time of day. We also apologize for the intermittent connectivity issues you experienced, and we have worked diligently with our local staff to ensure this concern has been addressed. We loved everything about our week in Moose cabin. The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The hot tub was relaxing! The area is simply peaceful. Our teens loved the snow, hot tub and board games! We will be planning on visiting again soon!
Michelle E. Mar 2020
Very clean and comfortable!
Ronald S. Jun 2019
We love the seclusion from the rest of the property, the fact that we can hear the river at night to go to sleep by, the cosy atmosphere and being able to step out the back door and see nothing but forest and the mountain beyond.
Anna B. Jan 2019
We had the best time! Everything was in the cabin that we needed. It was great!
