Loved the little pool and very quick walk to beach that had some nice soft sand. As senior citizens we only paid 35 cents to take the bus. (Off season it only runs once an hour). Publix right around the corner and a bistro right behind that. Owners very pleasant. Tons of towels of all sizes there. Shady areas in pool yard if you don’t want too much sun.

The cottage was comfortable, good location, very relaxing. Hosts were great.

When we arrived, the home appeared to be clean at first glance. However, there was a large stain on the comforter on the bed. There were dead bugs on the floor on the foot of the bed. The trash can is so dirty it looked like it needed to be replaced and there was hair in the bathroom sink. I called Vacasa to let them know of the cleanliness of the home, they offered to have someone come out and clean but we declined due to COVID (it should have been cleaned before arrival).

The home was fine for furnishings. There were several light bulbs out, we found bulbs in the unit and replaced them. However, two lights still didn't work even when replaced. The pool was unusable, there were actual tree limbs and debris in the pool and the water was brown. Around the pool there was a pool float filled with stagnant water (a mosquito breeding zone), there was a 5 gallon bucket filled with stagnant possible rain water, the furnishings were absolutely dirty plus there was a broken pool filter just hanging out on one of the chairs. Vacasa did send someone out to clean the surrounding pool area after we complained, but it still was not useable due to the condition of the pool itself. One of the Vacasa employees even stated they were having problems with the owner of property keeping up with the cleanliness of the pool area since it was shared by owner. Vacasa claimed someone had served the pool 2 days prior and there is no way that was the case.

We also did not have internet or cable for the two days we stayed, they claimed there was an outage in the area, we called the surround hotels and they stated their service was working and they used the same company. Overall the employees of Vacasa were nice and professional everytime I spoke with them. However, the local Property Manager Doug located in Fort Myers beach was very unprofessional, rude and should not have the position he has.
Manager response:
We are disappointed to read your review, Brittany. We apologize if you were unhappy with the state of the pool. It does not have a pool cage and is surrounded by foliage that regularly drops leaves and twigs. The pool filter has been verified as working without issue. The cable and internet issues were due a company outage beyond our control; the homeowner and property manager were regularly in touch with the provider as we waited for the service to be restored. The rainy season does bring bugs into homes in the area, and we do our best to stay on top of this. The stain in the comforter has been removed. The broken light is now replaced. Thank you!

The location is so close to the beach! The studio is so cute and private! The pool area is awesome! The owners couldn’t be more friendly, helpful and they went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met!

This was a great retreat in a quiet residential neighborhood. I loved all the turquoise accents on the exterior. We had our own private enclosed yard which was perfect for morning coffee, evening cocktails and our two Yorkies. They loved sitting out there soaking in the sun and hunting geckos. The unit is small but cozy. It’s equipped with everything you need to set up house. We love to cook so we decided to bring some of our favorite kitchen gadgets with us. The pandemic had just practically closed down the town so we ended up eating at home most nights. There’s a charcoal grill in the yard which came in handy. The weather was perfect the whole time we were there. We were able to explore the beaches and parks the first week. After that, we practically lived in the heated pool which is accessed through a gate in our yard. Paradise! I’d bring a good book, my phone and some cool drink and relax in the pool all day...literally, all day. Our granddaughter was able to come visit for four days and we had a ball in the pool. The owners live in the main house and were always very helpful with any help we needed, but respectful of our privacy. We had cocktails with Jill and Tom a few times in the evening. Lovely people. We would definitely return. Fort Meyers Beach is a great destination especially if you want to get away from the cold Chicago winter.
