Port O'Call - Isle of Palms Villas

What a great time we had at this property.

The shift from local property management spots and rent by owner to Vacasa is not something I have enjoyed in the three Vacasa stays I have experienced. This one was no different. The property itself and the beds and couch and furniture and appliances are all fine. We used each without issue and always love the view at Port O Call. However, for the money spent to stay a week at 301-B, I might have hoped for both quality customer service and resolutions to issues...and even an offer for reimbursement for some of the hassles we incurred. It started at the beginning of the stay with blankets and towels left in the dryer that were still damp. There were also dirty dish towels and pot holders left on top of the washer/dryer unit. That doesn't inspire much in the way of confidence that the rest of the house is clean. We also found old pasta in the sink from previous stays that was not disposed of by the disposal unit in the sink. That was another yellow flag. But the kicker came when one day I left the unit and was stung by multiple wasps, multiple times. thankfully it was me that was stung and not my children, but this is a problem. Each of these were relayed to Vacasa where representatives answered the texts quickly with meaningless "we will look into it" responses or, in the case of the wasps, being told to talk to Wild Dunes who said we needed to talk to Vacasa and back and forth. Eventually, a cleaning person came with Raid to spray the nest, but didn't get them all and didn't knock down the nest. So the wasps just returned after it was dry and continued on their merry way. I'm not impressed with Vacasa and not impressed with how they handle calm queries about what can and should be done when issues arise. These were easy fixes in my mind and could have come with apologies and reimbursements for the hassle. Instead, it was "we will pass this along" and nothing will be done. Disappointed.

Working with Vacasa overall was very great. The communication was good with emails and texts. The home was clean besides a couple spots of sand. Only complaint we had was last of basic supplies like trash bags and dishwasher pods, etc. I understand not suppling a ton, but more than 2 trash bags for a week would be nice.
