"Finally Settled" is a very well equipped house near Deep Creek. There is a community dock that you can use to launch kayaks and paddle boards (and you can store your kayaks and paddle boards on the grass). And the water is a short walk from the house. The kitchen is very well equipped for a rental property. The house was nice for our family vacation (3 generations, 11 people, 1 dog). Each bedroom has it's own bathroom. There are 3 air conditioners (bedroom above the garage, bedroom on the '2nd floor' and bedroom on first floor off the kitchen. We were ok with that, the house was relatively cool, even in August. There are a number of ceiling fans. We really enjoyed the deck, and there is a gas grill that is hard piped to the house, so you don't have to worry about running out of gas.
Hi, Stuart! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. House was a great set up for my family and family that joined us from TX. Loved the deck and woodsy atmosphere

We (my husband and I) along with two grown sons and their spouses/partners got together at Finally Settled at Deep Creek Lake (Oct 28-Nov.1) It was a wonderful 4-5 days after not being able to see each other since the previous Christmas. Each couple had their own bedroom suite on separate floors or in a separate wing with a queen size bed, dressers, and a separate bathroom. Our oldest son, his wife and son were not able to join us, but cribs for our grandson were available in two of the bedroom combos. Everything was clean and fresh, plenty of blankets and pillows, and lots of indoor space.
The common areas included a very large kitchen with an eating counter and open dining room with long table. Lots of space for everyone to sit together keeping some physical distance between us. We generally ate our meals there and also played board games.
The kitchen was well supplied with dishes, pans, glassware, cutlery, bowls, and small appliances like hand mixer, blender, coffee makers, waffle maker, etc. We cooked all our meals, including grilling steaks outside, chicken parmigiana, and pork tacos with all the fixings. All we had to bring were the ingredients. If we forgot something, the Arrowhead Market is less than 2 miles away and carries a wide variety of grocery items, fresh meats and produce, liquor and fresh bakery items. it was very convenient.
The other common spaces included a small TV/conversation area on the main floor, perfect for 4 of us and a very large game and tv space downstairs. There was a foosball table and dart game, and a very large screen TV and plenty of seating for all of us to again have physical distancing between us. We watched a scary movie on Halloween night (on Netflix) . There was an Amazon fire stick with the TVS which gave us access to some of the streaming services. The downstairs room also had a wet bar. Great gathering space for relaxing.
We also had a hot tub outside right off the dining area. We used it every day. It is a good size for 4 people but with our efforts to maintain some physical distancing, each couple used it separately which worked beautifully. Towels for the hot tub were provided.
Although it rained the first two days, we had plenty of room indoors to have fun and maintain some kind of distancing. We also kept masks on most of the time indoors. The last two days were cold but sunny and we went on a 7 mile hike in Deep Creek State Forest which is only about a 10 minute car ride from the house. It was a great hike, not too strenuous but good exercise and beautiful fall colors. We also walked every day near the house, along the lake. The house is about 100 yards from the Lake, right across the road. The public access is available right there which is convenient. In addition to the hot tub, there is also a large deck along the front of the house and a patio area below it, outside the downstairs gathering space. So both the downstairs and main floor have outdoors patio/decks. Finally. there is a wood burning stove downstairs, a gas burning fireplace on the main floor, and a fire pit outside. It really felt like a perfect house for gathering during the pandemic or anytime. For us family, it was also the perfect driving distance. We all came from different locations and each drive about 6 hours. We all agreed we would come back again, maybe in the summer to use the lake. Would recommend it for any family or group of friends.

A little tough to find at night. Great living area with plenty of room for 12 people. Walking distance (2 minutes) to a public dock. Bring your own trash bags and paper towels as they do not stock anything beyond what’s in the trash cans or counter top.

Beautiful home right on the water, great stay for a large group!

We were so happy with this property! The pros were the size, cleanliness (yet dog friendly, dog friendly doesn't mean dirty here!) spotless hot tub, safe and quiet neighborhood, extra helpful items in the home, and close proximity to the lake! It's really so lovely and welcoming. The only cons were the mattress comfort and the warm main floor due to no air conditioner there but it's advertised as having partial a/c, with so many loving touches everywhere else, this seems like a small investment to make it just perfect! We highly recommend it and would stay again!

Well-stocked kitchen, very dog friendly, nice setting, friendly neighbors at community dock.. One second floor bedroom not air conditioned so avoid if warm outside temperatures.

Advertised as having air conditioning, doesn’t for main living area just bedrooms. Needs ceiling fan in the kitchen / dining area, at minimum.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, David. We are glad you enjoyed your stay! Please note, this home is listed as having partial A/C. We will look into adding more fans, and we hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

This house doesn’t disappoint! It has everything!! Great for families.

House had everything you could possibly need, and beautifully decorated! Great layout & plenty of space for us all to spread out. Game room was perfect for the kids (lots of board games)! Hot tub was so relaxing. Room above garage with own bathroom was great for kids to use. All rooms had TVs which was nice too. We loved that all the cabinets in kitchen were labeled so we didn't have to search for anything. Dog bed located in kitchen closet was definitely a plus!
Just a helpful tip: All houses in the area have wooden compartments that hold 2 trash cans. This house has 2 trash cans, 1 is smaller than the other. Use the BIG one, NOT the smaller one. We found this out the hard way. 2 Black bears were in the area (seen by other neighbors) and that night they managed to pull the smaller trash can totally out of the compartment from the opening in the bottom. We had 2 very large bags of trash that were completely shredded & ransacked, trash was even taken into neighbors yard. We spent a long time trying to pick everything back up.
