One and a half miles up north is the charming town of Shaver Lake Heights where dining options and outdoor activities abound! Shaver Lake is a popular recreational lake surrounded by the Sierra National Forest. There, you can try your hand at endless outdoor activities that include boating, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, waterskiing, and more! Horseback riding along the shoreline of Shaver Lake is a great option if you'd like to explore the area and take in the views. Three miles up north is the Central Sierra Historical Society Museum where you can learn about the region’s logging history. The China Peak Mountain Resort might be 20.5 miles away, but it's totally worth the trip as it's considered California’s premier destination for snow sports and fun. The renowned Yosemite National Park is almost 60 miles up north, however, it's another great place to visit, even if it takes you one hour and a half to get there.

We stayed in this cabin for two nights. Nice and clean, a bit outdated, but served the purpose. Nice balcony to have leisurely breakfasts and dinners under the star. A bit far from the lake, but it was not a problem. 10am check out is not pleasant though!
