I would like to start by saying if you drive in from out of town to stay at this place, do NOT get there any earlier than 4pm. My family and I arrived at the house a couple hours before 4pm and was told that we could not go inside the home due to people cleaning. There was nobody there and the house was locked up. The house is nice and spacious. I would say if you rent this place to bring washing detergent for your clothes and necessary bathing essentials. Towels are provided. My biggest complaint is the price you pay for this place, you would expect everything to be top notch. The shower knob fell off the first day and the back door is pretty tough to open. Overall the place was in a nice location and spacious.

I had reserved another Vacasa cabin in the area, but as I was on my way I learned that it was canceled because of an unexpected equipment malfunction. The people at Vacasa did a great job reserving a comparable place for me, though larger and better equipped, at the original price. I needed to find a place far enough from Fredericksburg to have dark skies for stargazing, and they worked with me to find one. Although the house is only 4 miles east of Fredericksburg on highway 290, and a short drive down a gravel road, it was far enough from town and from the highway to get some good pictures of the night sky. The house is large and has a master bedroom with a king bed and its own bathroom with a large soaking tub, and two smaller bedrooms at the other end, a large living room and, 2 steps down, a large full kitchen and dining area. I especially liked the little office. Everything is white with a few well-chosen art works. The back windows overlook a large mowed lawn that slopes gradually down toward a dry creek.

Good location just a few minutes out of town on a large lot with a dry creek behind. We saw evidence of deer around the property. All quiet besides the highway sounds you can hear inside. Very clean with a few rough items like loose & missing paneling in a closet, The master bath is well done and the guest bath is adequate. The sink in there is tiny. Plenty of living room/kitchen space since it's all open. As soon as we entered, I could smell the air freshener that is commonly used in hotels to cover up cigarette smoke. This was because the front bedroom had from what we can tell been smoked in. It was bearable but on the 3rd day I was ready to not smell it anymore,
