Emerald Towers - Destin, FL Rentals

Location was good. Overall the condo was nice. Could use new pillows in beds. Pool & beach was nice. Not sure if condos floors had been cleaned as there were visible spots plus our feet got filthy walking without shoes. Was NOT happy with VACASA as the night before our arrival we received text confirming stay and giving us gate/door codes BUT on day of arrival when we were only a few hours away from our stay we get text/email saying condo we rented there was a double booking problem as people were still in condo for another night. VACASA would relocate us to another condo, NOT the same building for no extra charge and we could decide if we wanted to move to the condo we booked the following day when it was ready. Condo at Jade towers was bigger but old, needed updates. We advised them we wanted our original rental when available. Next day when condo was ready as I had to call to inquire if it was ready yet even though I was to receive a call as soon as it was ready. I inquired about some allowance for the inconvenience of having to interrupt our plans, reload luggage and move. Was told they would check with manager & let me know. Never heard anything back. First time I used VACASA and don’t plan on using in future. Heard from others in Emerald Towers who rented through VACASA of several problems they had with condos they managed.

The unit was totally renovated and very modern, super nice appliances and electric window shade operated by a remote. The guest bathroom still had the old tub/shower combo but that was okay. Some of the plank floor tiles were loose like they weren't completely glued down or whatever. The main criticism I would have was that the sheets and towels were of very poor quality. The bed sheets didn't match, i.e. striped versus plain, and you could barely get the fitted sheet over the mattress. There were no mattress pads either. The towels were very thin and rough and obviously didn't match either. Some had stains. But all in all it was a very enjoyable stay and we look forward to two months in the same unit next year.

This unit has been newly renovated with good taste. We have stayed here before and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the door. Plan to stay here again next year and hope the unit is kept up to its current standards. The only small detail that I see that could be improved is for more stocking of dishes and glasses. Staying long term and entertaining was difficult with limited inventory. Staying for a weekend it is stocked ok. Thanks to the owners for a great job.
