Recent Blairsville vacation rental reviews

From the moment you walk in the front door all you see is the amazing views of the lake and sun and sky. That is true for the entire house as it is located very close to the lake on a gentle sloping lot. The amount of natural light in this house is just fantastic with huge floor to ceiling windows and doors and skylights everywhere. That two-story center hall with the handmade folk art canoe is incredible. The house is like a resort in terms of how it is designed and decorated and the kitchen has everything you'd want including a coffee bar with a milk frother. Bonus points for the mini-fridge and coffee set-up and dedicated desk area in the upper king suite. We were 2 families, a total of 10 of us, and the parents both had huge private king suites with a walkout deck or balcony overlooking the lake. The rest of the family still had a queen bed overlooking the lake and two bunk rooms with a double bed and a twin bunk bed and a rollout trundle bed we didn't use. The addition of a rollaway bed and pack and play in the upper king suite was very much appreciated and used by our youngest who preferred to sleep with us. There are 4 and half baths - all newly renovated so there is never any waiting. We even had a bubble bath party for the youngest kids in the huge soaking tub in the lower king suite bath! And adults got some quiet time with a glass of wine on the upper deck beside the fire table as we watched the sun set on the lake. But the two main things we loved about this house the most was the game room and the lake location itself. The game room has a poker table and pool table and ping pong and shuffleboard and a few dozen board games and puzzles and other games I am forgetting. Just outside the game room is a hot tub open to the sky. Down by the easy access lake walk (no steps!) there is a fire pit we used a few nights, a canoe and kayaks and paddleboards and a boat shed filled with life vests, ice chests, paddles and fishing poles and a floating dock. This place is perfect for families but also makes sure adults get big roomy suites with all of the extras you get from a resort. This house is a memory-making dream come true! Thank you for the memories! Our highest rating and recommendation! We're already booking for a week next year!

Where is Blairsville, GA?

Blairsville is located about 225 miles from both Charlotte, NC, and Nashville, TN, and only 100 miles north of the central hub of Atlanta, making it easily accessible for a weekend escape from the fast pace of the city. Plus, it's close to a number of other lovely Georgia towns, including Blue Ridge, the Trout Capital of Georgia, and Ellijay, the state's famous Apple Capital.

Things to do in Blairsville, GA

With the Chattahoochee National Forest pressing in on all sides, Blairsville is a mecca for anyone who loves the great outdoors. The town is directly adjacent to the southernmost 80 miles of the Appalachian Trail, and our vacation rentals provide a terrific jumping-off point for a series of day trips or backpacking excursions through the densely forested wilderness.

On a clear day, hike or take the shuttle to the top of Brasstown Bald, located just 30 miles east of town. At 4,784 feet, this mountain is Georgia's tallest peak, offering sweeping 360-degree views of four different states, the rippling green hills of the Chattahoochee Forest, and even the Atlanta skyline - 100 miles to the south!

There's plenty to enjoy even if you're not ruggedly outdoorsy. Blairsville is home to a year-round rotation of incredible festivals, from 4th of July boat parades to Appalachian craft fairs and the Scottish Highland Games. There's even a Friday Night Concert series held from May to October, and an annual Wine & Jazz Festival hosted in nearby Blue Ridge.

From the breathtaking scenery to the thriving cultural scene, Blairsville is undoubtedly one of Georgia's most spectacular hidden gems - and there's no better way to experience it than a stay in one of our delightful Blairsville vacation homes.
