Recent Lake Anna vacation rental reviews

We had out family of 8 stay with our 4 dogs over Thanksgiving. I should note that collectively, all of our dogs weigh 20 pounds. I was worried at first about transporting all the things we would need for a full Thanksgiving meal and having access to a different kitchen for that. After 8 months of being at home due to the pandemic, however, and after the lovely 3d tour, I was willing to take the risk. We were not disappointed at all. The kitchen and living spaces are so wonderfully spacious. We enjoyed the large dining space for shared meals, lots of games, and paint by number. Even though we were on vacation, we still quarantined and this was the perfect place to do so. The loft space was great for our kids (10-17) to play video games and watch movies. The space on the lower level was their living space, while the grown ups used the main level bedrooms. The wrap around porch provided great views and relaxing seating. It was nice to be able to grill during the somewhat warm weather. We used the firepit two nights to enjoy smores and together time. I highly recommend this very clean and adaptable place as a getaway if you need a change of scenery and to spread out.

The house was absolutely perfect - the massive backyard leading into the lake was something else. The dock was a perfect place for us to spend the day together. Highly recommend!

We spent the Thanksgiving weekend in this beautiful home and had a wonderful experience. There was plenty of room for all - we were a small group of eight people so we did not need all of the bedrooms but we enjoyed all of the living space. The kitchen had all the cooking tools needed for a Thanksgiving feast preparation. Very well equipped home. The ping pong table made for a lot of fun! The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the large yard overlooking the lake. Highly recommend this home - it was clean, and more than comfortable.

Where is Lake Anna?

At about 50 miles from Charlottesville and 70 miles from Richmond, Lake Anna makes an easy destination for city-dwelling Virginians. It’s also a popular vacation spot from Washington, D.C., which sits about 100 miles northeast. Folks from Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City can easily reach a Lake Anna vacation rental within a day’s drive, so it makes a convenient getaway for residents of many East Coast big cities as well as Virginia locals.

Things to Do in Lake Anna

If you’re staying at a Lake Anna vacation rental, odds are you’re here for the water. Boating, jet skiing, and water sports reign supreme here, and you’ll find ample opportunities for renting them if you didn’t bring your own. Lake Anna is also known for its year-round fishing; since its water never freezes, you can catch a largemouth bass here in any season.

Nature lovers will feel right at home in Lake Anna State Park, the local hub for hiking, biking, and beach exploring. Visitors can even try their luck panning for gold! For a rustic lakeside experience, book a Lake Anna cabin rental and take in the simplicity of your surroundings.

On the opposite side of the lake, the Boardwalk—home to minigolf, an arcade, beach volleyball, and more—remains a hit with kids and adults alike. Or, leave the kids at the vacation rental and peruse the local wineries. Lake Anna Winery is not to be missed, but if you’d rather get a more diverse sampling, try a local tour like the Heart of Virginia wine trail. If wine’s not your style, the Belmont Farm Distillery is certainly worth a visit, too.

Golf enthusiasts can tee off at the Meadow Farms Golf Course or the Tanyard Country Club. The towns surrounding your Lake Anna rental are rich with antiquing opportunities; make sure to stop by a few shops in Fredericksburg or Bumpass for a shot at finding a hidden gem. When you start to get hungry, indulge in freshly-made crab cakes or some classic Virginia barbecue.

You’ll never be bored on your Lake Anna vacation. Find the cabin or home that suits you best, and let the fun begin.
