The house itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but our stay was impacted by several management and maintenance issues.
The biggest frustration was discovering that the master shower was out of order only through the check-in note. We had booked months in advance, and no one reached out ahead of time to inform us or present option. I called vacasa and was told there would be no option for another home or compensation. We did review a $79 refund for the shower being out of order, after being told this was not an option. The lack of response to options available and/or financial remedies was especially disappointing given the length of time they had to communicate the issue.
Check-in was also problematic. Check-in was scheduled for 4:00 pm, but the cleaners were still there until after 5:00 pm. Again, no one contacted us beforehand to let us know about the delay, so we were left waiting. That said, the cleaning crew themselves were wonderful and kindly opened up the downstairs so we didn’t have to sit in our cars, which we really appreciated.
The beds were not very comfortable, and overall the house seems to need more consistent maintenance. For example, the hot tub cover is falling apart. While the home is attractive and well designed, these details detract from the experience.
Overall, the property could be great, but it needs better upkeep and more proactive communication. I believe many of these issues could be resolved with a different management company that prioritizes maintenance and guest communication. We use VRBO for home rentals 3-4 times a year and have never experienced one managed by Vacasa. We will not book another home with this management company.
