The Lye Brook Wilderness Area consists of almost 18,000 acres of repurposed logging roads and unspoiled wildness, providing perfect wildlife viewing opportunities and invigorating tranquil hikes. The Lye Brook Falls Trail offers a truly rewarding experience with breathtaking views of one of the tallest waterfalls in Vermont.  

The Manchester area is home to postcard-perfect fly fishing locations.  However if you aren’t well versed in fly fishing, don’t fret. The Orvis Manchester Fly Fishing school offers a unique opportunity to not only learn the techniques, knots, and gears of the trade, but to test your skills in their stocked casting pond before heading out on your own.

The Ekwanok Country Club has been an American institution since 1899.  A storied course, designed by world-famous course architect Walter Travis, these links are a part of the nation’s history. Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home, was the summer home of President Lincoln’s only child to survive into adulthood.  Done in Georgian Revival style with several trails around the 412-acre, well-manicured estate, this home is an immersive work of art.

While taking in a leisurely drive through the scenic Vermont countryside, be sure to stop by Taylor Farm.  A dairy dating back to the early 1800s, you can walk through the farm, learning about the cheesemaking process while trying one-of-a-kind cheeses, produced only feet from where you stand.
