Nestled in the Alexander Valley mid-way between Healdsburg and Calistoga on picturesque Chalk Hill Road is Casa Pavone, a traditional farmhouse situated along the Maacama creek. In a little valley of its own, the nearly three-acre property is entirely secluded. Ideal for adults and children alike, it has a private pool and hot tub, and a new outdoor kitchen and dining area with a gas grill and an Argentine wood-burning grill and pizza oven. Adults can sit around the firepit or on the wrap-around porch while the kids swim.

What's nearby:
Looking for wine tasting? Casa Pavone is ideally situated! The farmhouse is between famed Lancaster Estates and Verite with the Chalk Hill Winery just up the street. On your 15-minute drive to Healdsburg, you’ll pass Soda Rock, Hanna, Sausal, Simi, Stonestreet, Medlock Ames, and Jordan to name just a few. Or you can paddle down the Russian River, bring your bikes, and hit Chalk Hill Road and Highway 128, (a biker’s paradise), tie on your running shoes and explore the hills.

Elizabeth M. Nov 2018
We were told the heat did not work before we arrived and we were given 3 ineffective space heaters for a huge house with tons of windows and doors. While playing cards we had two of the space heaters near us and blankets on our laps to stay warm. When we went to go to bed we moved the space heaters into the bedrooms because it was freezing in the house. When we went to turn the last one on it blew a fuse and we spent the next hour trying to figure out which fuse had blown—this was around midnight. We were all so freezing cold we decided to look at the heater. It was set to 65 and blowing cold air. My mom scrolled through the settings on the thermostat and discovered the heat setting was set to 45 degrees. She was able to reset the thermostat and finally the house started to warm up. The low temp on Friday Nov.26, 2018 was 27 degrees in Healdsburg. This was all after we discovered that the jacuzzi was not working either. The entire reason we booked the house was for the pool/jacuzzi and this was not working at all. We were told the pool pump blew the day before we arrived...which seems very suspect.

We were told we’d be refunded 20% of our stay which still remains to be seen and in my opinion is not enough. We spent two nights at the house for about $1500 and one of the nights was spent trying to manage a situation that should have never happened.

Not impressed with Vacass at all. We had trouble from the beginning when reserving the property through VRBO we used our American Express then were told that Vacasa doesn’t take Amex. Vacasa said they would cancel our booking but we wouldn’t be able to get our booking fee back from VRBO. Thankfully we had enough cash in our bank account to cover the cost of the two nights because we didn’t want to lose the $160 fee VRBO charges. This seems to be to be false advertising to me.
