I have lived in the Buckman neighborhood before, and I enjoyed staying here on this trip. This is a recently constructed building and the apartment is clean. Advantages of this neighborhood include:
* Easy access to downtown with no parking hassles, very quick Uber access too. Bus #12 , on Sandy Blvd, is one of the most frequent buses in the city. Pioneer Square in 7 stops, 13 min.
* Walking distance to some of the good restaurants (e.g Nicholas, Noble Rot, Nong's Khao Mon Gai, Normandie, Hey Love, Le Pigeon, C'est Si Bon )and bars (Blue Diamnond for dancing!) in this part of town.
* I noticed fewer homeless than when I lived here 5 years ago. Which is not to say the problem is gone. But it used to be oppressive. The neighborhood is gentrifying rapidly, and there are lots of newly constructed high end apartments all around here. Pluses and minuses to that. Maybe that is why this one is offered for rent--supply and demand. Still some lovely, old homes in the neigborhood, particularly as you get south of Burnside. Ankeny is primarily a bicycle street and a pleasant place to walk.

The property was clean, comfortable and it’s in a great location. Very short distance from downtown and all the attractions. Very well put together home.

Looking at the pictures, you get exactly what you see. We arrived and were pleasently surprised as to how spotless clean everything was. A lot of restaurants, bars, and shops were within walking distance but if you wanted to go to the downtown area it was probably a 5-10 min car ride, not bad at all! The apartment is a tad small so I wouldn’t recommend it for more than 4 people, as there is not enough room on the one couch that is available. The beds were extremely comfortable and clean. We did have a bit of trouble figuring out the heater but it worked great as we were never cold. The bathroom was great too, enough towels and super clean. Although, the shower head could use some work as it wasn’t putting out as much water as it should. I would only recommend putting more mirrors around the apartment as having only ine mirror in the only bathroom did make it a bit hard to get ready. Other than that, we loved staying here and would definitely think about booking again!
