Great Place, well priced. Very big for a fire island house. There were some downsides. The location is a double edged sword. It's fantastic for getting off the ferry and bringing your stuff in. Really couldn't ask for better if you have a lot of stuff or a group that tends to run late while you're trying to make a ferry. Made everything very easy being 5 houses from the dock. However, it is the first block in town so on the weekends every day tripper from Long Island comes down this block to get to the beach. They clog up the arteries, and as the summer approaches, it will matter less as there aren't any bikes allowed on weekends (annoying Ocean Beach law), but it definitely is on the most crowded block on Fire island as far as traffic goes. It's also at the widest part of the island making the walk to the beach the longest you'll find on FI. Other than that, the house was nearly perfect. There were plenty of towels, 6 BEDROOMS (huge for FI) and plenty of beach chairs (I believe 12). The AC was fantastic and worked so well, and the dining room area was huge. Another negative is the house only comes with one (very rusty) bike, something I hope the owners or Vacasa can address in the future. A big part of renting on FI is being able to bike around, and OB hardware charges a lot for bike rentals. The proximity to the town is really great, but the fact that it's on the first block off the ferry makes it very crowded on the weekends. Screened in porch was actually fantastic and a wonderful place to sit, even on a crowded saturday.
