The house is lovely , we spent most the time out on the porch. The view is unbeatable, waking up and seeing the lake first thing is the best way to start the day. I would recommend this house to everyone

There are plenty of pro's and some con's with this home. The home has 5 bedrooms - 4 with queen beds and 1 with a twin. There were 3 full baths as well which was very nice. The Kitchen had just about everything you could ask for (except for a slow cooker). The home was clean and the bedrooms were cozy. There was a nice kitchenette with microwave and fridge in the downstairs portion which meant this home could easily be shared by 2 families - allowing togetherness and privacy. The laundry area was nice to have for towels too. The decks were gorgeous and there was ample picnic seating outside. There were plenty of books and videos on hand for those rainy days - but we brought some of our own games too. The downstairs deck had a beautiful hot tub. The downside/suggestions for the home area were: 1) deck chairs were the inexpensive plastic adirondak deck chairs - not very comfy - would have been nice to have some loungers 2) the yard was not mowed until day 4 - hubby had to go home and get the weedeater to at least do the downstairs yard for the dogs 3) the front hill was not maintained well which impeded some of the view - I would cut down some of the scrub brush 4) the driveway is VERY steep 5) would suggest written instructions for the dishwasher too - had to youtube that one but it was a great dishwasher once we figured it out. 6) The indoor dining table only seated 6 when the home would accommodate 10. 7) No cable TV - had to figure out how to cast from phone to TV and could not do with apple phones - at least in upstairs - this was nice to have for the rainy days - but the home does have wi-fi. 8) window ACs in the bedrooms sometimes just not quite enough to cool down. 9) limited parking - had to be very careful of septic area and with steepness of driveway had to be extremely careful - we had 4 couples so 4 vehicles - at times a bit of a challenge but I think you get used to it after a few entries and exits. The Beach area: This is located across the road down 115 VERY steep stairs - likely not for very small children or elderly or disabled - but we did fine - good exercise after a day of 'vacation style eating.' There were no Kayaks as advertised - which was disappointing - owners thought they must have floated away in the storms. There is no beach per se - but a very lovely pavilion/gazebo with some seating, a ceiling fan and fridge - along with a nice outhouse with composting toilet (instructions for use in the main cottage). The docks were very nice and I believe could have accommodated a pontoon boat too. There was a canoe - but we did not use that. There were some pool toys and life jackets on the deck too. Overall, this area was very nice - and if you could bring a cooler or two down - would have been a nice area for a picnic. We did not do that due to the steepness of the stairs - but it could be done. Or could bring food/drink in on your boat too. As far as booking through VACASA - I would do it again - there was plenty of communication before and during our stay. As far as this property - likely would not rent again - although the house was really nice and nicely appointed, allowed dogs with a good fee, could fit all 8 of us without feeling crowded - the distance from the lake, the steep driveway and stairs to dock area - would not be for us in the future.

Cruise Lake George or Schroon Lake in the summer, come back in the fall to admire the leaves---there’s never a bad time to visit the Adirondacks. People reserve Adirondacks cabin rentals to soak up the sun on one of the region’s beautiful lakes, or to simply retreat from city life. In the winter, cuddle up by the fireplace in your vacation rental and enjoy a good book, or go on a peaceful venture via snowshoes. Don’t forget to visit the tranquil wilderness of Adirondack Park, the largest publicly protected natural area in the country.
