This place was a super comfy place to stay during our time in McCall. The bear and moose decor was a cool, stylish touch. The kitchen had most everything we needed to cook meals, but we brought our own spices. Despite the proximity to the road, this place is dead quiet at night. Would highly recommend!
Wendy J. Jun 2020
We loved the decor! Comfortable bed. Loved the kitchen! Only negative was there were two broken bowls and mouse dropping in utensil drawer and drawer on bottom of stove, other than that we loved it!
Manager response:
Hi, Wendy! We appreciate you letting us know about your experience. Traps have been set for the mice, and the broken bowls have been removed. Thank you for staying with us!

Quiet home just outside McCall. The cabin has some antique appliances, which only add to the charm! If you're looking for a retreat for two, this is it! Local staff was extremely responsive to our minor issues.

My lady and I had never been to McCall, and this lovable cabin was a perfect home base. There were plenty of pots n pans for us to cook up the food we brought. It was clean, plenty warm, and perfectly comfortable. Just a quick drive to downtown, there's an absolutely gorgeous view of Payette lake on the way. We visited Salmon River Brewing for a delicious burger n beer, Wild River Java for A+ coffee, and an AMAZING gem shop that I could have carefully shuffled through for hours.

This was just what we were hoping for to start out our trip in Idaho. Beautiful area and close to Ponderosa State Park.

So private and comfortable. Very clean and cute decorations!
Rick D. Sep 2019
Nice, well furnished 1 bedroom. Great to have our dog with us. Location is great although WW Road closed due to construction. Looks like it was about finished and should be opened again.

We would stay there again.
Jacque Q. Sep 2019
First impression; porch, outdoor chairs & table was dirty.
Cabin smelled when we entered. Opening windows and buying candles did not help. Smell never left. Only ate one meal in the cabin due to the odor.
Coffee maker was filthy, old coffee and grounds still in pot, and residue built up on coffee maker.
We will not return.
Manager response:
Hi, Jacque! We apologize we missed the coffee maker and have made sure that is cleaned and ready for our next guests. We also believe we have taken care of the odor. Thank you!

I LOVED this McCall cabin! It was just close enough to everything you needed and just far enough away from the crowds to feel secluded. The lake is so close and I loved the fenced in porch! I could sit with my dogs out there and not worry about them wandering off. The cabin is so dang cute and has everything you need. I definitely want to stay in this cabin in the winter. It has the perfect cozy cabin feel and we will definitely stay there again. :) I've stayed at several Vacasa rentals and I have loved everyone so much! Highly recommend this cabin. Thanks for another great trip!

We like the location. Cute little cabin. Enjoyed being with my kids who came with me also the three that we visited. Hope to get this cabin again when I visit. Hopefully my husband can make the next trip.
Jacque G. Oct 2018
Easy to find, cute, homey cabin tucked in off the main road just enough. Deer crossing is a good name for it-we saw many deer while there, they came up right between our cabin and the next many times during the day! Comfortable bed & couches, nice amenities.
Julie M. Oct 2018
Enjoyed the cabin and was nice location near the lake. Easy check in and great communication from management.
Debra M. Sep 2018
We loved our stay and will schedule again. Very cozy and CLEAN, everything you need to cook in the kitchen, close to downtown and quiet. We were very comfortable there with our dogs.
Matthew P. Sep 2018

Candy S. Aug 2018
This cabin is like a dollhouse, it is old but well maintained. Moose stuff is fully stocked. WE saw a bear one morning and a deer with 2 fawns on another morning...even though it is on the road, it is quiet...
Sarah P. May 2018
You will love it!
Don N. May 2018

Best Anniversary Weekend, very private, just prefect for a couple!!! Vacasa had everything ready, very clean, cook through the weekend and had everything I need to prepare meals. Thank so much!!! Will definitely do this again for our next excursion away!!!
Linda M. Mar 2018
Has a great homey feel. Very comfortable. Perfect for us.
Nancy C. Oct 2017
The little cabin is located on a very poor driveway off of a busy road. It was hard to walk the dog in the area--had to get in the car to go to a not busy area. Cute cabin--very dark when we walked in--a dark drape over one set of windows in the living room--not inviting. The lighting was inadequate--very hard to read. A multitude of non-essential glasses--could free up some cupboard space and that is very limited.
Christie W. Jun 2017
This was absolutely perfect for two people! Clean, no bugs inside. The cabin had a wonderful feeling. We loved drinking our coffee on the patio every morning.
Donna C. May 2017
Deer Crossing cabin was just what I needed for many reasons. I had just lost my Mom in the beginning of February and was having family issues. Least of all were just the everyday things we all deal with. I haven't been away for several years and was due a break from the every day as well. This little cabin was just that, I went by myself to reflect on all I have been through and all the changes to come in my life. I can't thank the people at Vacasa enough for their kindness in this time of my life.

We enjoyed our second winter stay at this cabin. It's perfect for the two of us and our dogs. The kitchen is well-stocked and we had everything we needed. The Wifi works great and the NetFlix option on the TV was a great option on a rainy day. Our only challenge was getting up the snowy, slushy driveway. We had no issues with the snow last year, but got stuck this year. Fortunately, a local guy with a truck pulled us out, and the local manager was responsive to getting the driveway plowed when we asked. Despite this issue, we will definitely be back next year. (We noticed even a few locals getting stuck. Definitely a challenging winter!)
Kelly T. Feb 2017
Thank you for everything! We had such a fun cabin get away in the woods :)
NIHAD I. Feb 2017
Love the place, kids enjoyed the place to.
Great location, close to everything. Will definitely come back.
Alan W. Jan 2017
The house has clean but seemed a little thrown together.
Joshua S. Jan 2017
We have stayed at Deer Crossing twice now and would recommend it to anyone. Its very pet friendly yet very clean and is conveniently located to McCall.. and affordable. It's a great getaway for busy people seeking a little peace and quiet!
David G. Dec 2016
Cozy cabin, great for a couple, with highly functional kitchen and comfortable living room. Easy access to town, super quiet. When we return to McCall, we will rebook here!
Callie S. Nov 2016
Great spot, comfy clean and well kept! I'd definitely stay here again
Bonny T. Nov 2016
The moose ambiance was adorable.
Kerry B. Oct 2016
Take a drive around the lake, it's beautiful from many vantages and drive up to Brundage Ski Resort, excellent views
Francyne S. Oct 2016
My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon at this quaint little cabin. It was so peaceful, after one week I wanted to move there. It was one of the most relaxing vacations of my life. We were surrounded by nothing but nature and a lake that was just down the hill. Plus it has heaters galore! no matter what you will stay warm.
Sue G. Oct 2016
We were in town for our daughter's wedding. It was so nice to have a place to stay at with our grandson.
Dan H. Sep 2016
Perfect little cabin for a couple, small family or close friends. Don't miss the Pancake House for breakfast. It's excellent! Huge portions, including dinner plate size cinnamon rolls. YUM! The beach access was perfect. We spent one whole day down there and were the only people as far as we could see around the lake. It was off-season, but what a treat to have a private beach!
Daren B. Sep 2016
Wow what a great place to visit. I know I will make this a regular vacation location. Next is to rent a cabin for the whole family. Ready lets go
Randy B. Sep 2016
My husband and I went to the cabin for a few days away from the normal chaos. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was cozy, location was nice and there was lots to do.
Y.K. G. Aug 2016
We enjoyed staying in this clean and cozy cabin. We had our two dogs with us and the road is close by (it is pretty busy) one may take that into consideration with pets and/or kids. We will plan to stay in a quieter /less traffic area next summer.
Julie H. Aug 2016
Charming, little cabin in good location to everything in McCall. Not too far down Warren Wagon Road, which is why we chose it. The cabin is small, but comfortably sleeps four. A fully stocked kitchen. It has every single thing you can ever think of in the kitchen, plus more. Plenty of towels, including a smaller washer/dryer. The cabin was decorated beautifully, which made it so quaint and homey. We loved the atmosphere. We bought a little notebook to start a guest book. Thought it should have one. The cabin is up a slight hill with the street right below. So if you have a toddler, you may want to rethink that. The porch is fully enclosed and locks to keep small kids in. We would definitely stay here again and are all ready planning next year's trip.
Rebecca H. Aug 2016
Very Cute & Cozy Cabin. Everything you need as a home base to enjoy all the attractions in the area!

Donald I. Jul 2016
Overall this cabin was cute and really enjoyed staying here. It had everything from a outdoor fire, a grill, and a patio set. Definitely will rent this cabin again.
Amanda S. Jun 2016
We loved the cabin it was bigger then we expected. The location was great and the town is amazing. We plan on booking the same cabin every year for our anniversary. Its a Very special place for us!!
Kim C. Jun 2016
Too far of a walk to lake and unclear of parking options when driving. Must cross Warren Wagon Road to get to shared beach area. Cabin right on Warren Wagon road, so very busy with traffic. Could be dangerous with dogs or small children.
Rachel B. May 2016
The cabin's location was very good. It was close to Payette Lake and downtown McCall. Close proximity to the road made it a little noisy with traffic but it wasn't too bad. The cabin had a nice front porch that could be closed off so our dog could be outside without having to worry about her wandering about. The cabin was roomy and had rustic decor with a Moose and Pine Cone theme. The cabin was equipped with two couches, satellite TV, clean linens, and plenty of things to cook with in the kitchen.

We were overall pleased with the furnishings and everything seemed to be in working order. The stove/oven was a little difficult to figure out and the light for the cooktop does not turn on. Once we figured that out, we were able to cook fine. The only thing we were dissatisfied with was the bed. It was not very comfortable. The door was also a bit difficult to lock, you had to pull on it just right.

Keeping in mind that this is a cabin in the middle of the woods, we were generally pleased with the cleanliness. There were some things that could be improved though. There were lots of cobwebs and the cabin had a musty smell. Once we aired it out a bit, the smell improved. I suppose we expected it to feel more like it had been deep cleaned since each reservation includes a substantial cleaning fee. So that was a bit disappointing. There was also an invasion of large black carpenter ants inside the cabin. I'm not sure if this was related to cleanliness or simply the type of flooring but the linoleum flooring in the kitchen was very slick. We had to walk very carefully so we didn't slip. Also, there were several dishes that had not been cleaned very well and had crusty food on them but this is probably related to prior guests not cleaning them.

We enjoyed visiting several surrounding lakes including Payette Lake, Brundage Reservoir, and Little Payette Lake. It was still a little cold and roads were not fully cleared to some of the other areas we had hoped to visit so we'll have to come back.
Lucinda L. May 2016
We had a great time here and the cabin is clean and quiet! Perfect for two!
Marj J. May 2016
We're not fond of crowds since our professions are all about people. Perfect place to "hide" for a week. Well-appointed cabin with everything needed but food. Thanks!
Emily O. Apr 2016
Lovely spot for 2, good location. Nice deck for having coffee.
Kaylin A. Apr 2016
Nice little cabin. Perfect for two. Close to town.
Elizabeth S. Feb 2016
The cabin was comfortable and met all of our needs. We were very happy that the cabin was pet friendly.
Barbara Q. Feb 2016
We enjoyed our week in this cabin during winter carnival. The property had lots of snow, but driveway and property were well plowed. Our mini van with snow tires did just fine getting up the slope. Furniture and decor are cozy, modern amenities worked well and it was great having our dogs with us. No place to rent movies so would bring some next time. The shower didn't drain well, but hopefully will be fixed for the next guest. Perfect place for a couple or family with small kids. No bedroom door so privacy could be an issue if 4 adults were there. We will definitely stay here again!
Harold F. Jan 2016
We stayed there in January with a small dog. The price was quite reasonable. Queen bed was comfortable. Electric baseboard heating was adequate although it took some time to find a comfortable setting kitchen eating area quite small. Appliances worked well. Internet service was good. TV and DVD player worked. Snow removal service excellent. Some dog fur found on sheets. Other than that, cleanliness was fine. Shower has slow drain. Very kitschy decorating scheme. Customer service from Vacasa excellent. Love the McCall area.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing some of your highlights of your stay with us, as well as making us aware of the shower drain and sheets so that we have the opportunity to address each with our Local Operations Team prior to the arrival of our next guest. We always enjoy hearing from our guests and appreciate you choosing Vacasa for your stay!
Mariana K. Jan 2016
Great place for two people, close enough to town. Also really pet friendly!
Ronda K. Dec 2015
We enjoyed our stay in this nice little cabin. It is tastefully decorated and furnished although the bed is queen sized not king as advertised when we rented it. The parking is a little tight and the route around the house is sometimes blocked. The snow that falls off the roof makes a fun little four wheel drive adventure when entering the cabin.
Kevin M. Nov 2015
Was a great little place. Close to downtown and just a short walk to the lake. Would stay again.
Richard M. Oct 2015
Great cabin for a couple, super location, excellent wifi and tv.
Linda M. Oct 2015
Perfect. The little porch was perfect . Very quiet and relaxing. We will definitely stay there again if available for our next visit

i needed a break caring for my Mom. i took my small dog along for the stay. i had his kennel in the house, but the front porch has a rail w/ a gate and lock, so he could hang out on the porch. mccall is lovely. i LOVED Picnic beach as well as the places i mentioned in 'favorite spots'. it is a very good value w/ tons of character. i'll be returning again!
Karla B. Aug 2015
We had a wonderful weekend in mccall staying at this cabin. It was cute and cozy in the kids loved the moose decorations. Cabin was immaculately clean. Kitchen was applied well. It was perfect for our two small children and easy access to everything. We also loved that it was out of town just enough that we stayed away from crowds. We will definitely stay here again.
Reyna C. Jul 2015
This cabin was just perfect for us. Family of four and small dog. The pics say everything!! We really like it! Thanks vacasa for the amazing place and grate price!
