Had a wonderful week here! Lights in kitchen weren’t bright which made it hard to play card games at night but we improvised with our book lights. View was amazing! Moonrise is spectacular from the deck. Beds were comfortable. Steps could be challenging for some with heavy bags/luggage or poor mobility. Loved the booklet left by the owners regarding things near by. We will be back!

The cottage is fantastic with the most gorgeous view in the world. Things were spotless, and everything you need! Beds and linen were fantastic. The towels all soft and plush . We loved everything about this cottage and will return next year for sure. The owners have thought of everything and made this the perfect cottage!

Rain, fog and sun - we saw it all and still enjoyed our 3 night stay. It was comfortable for 3 adults (1 single and a couple) in the 2 bedrooms. Deck space and view was perfect. The steep stairs to the cottage from the road and parking spots might pose a problem for some with walking difficulties. The cottage was tastefully decorated with old and new art and local items. Nice short walking loop near the cottage, easy drive to Boothbay Harbor. Highly recommend.

Loved the quaintness of the home. The breathtaking views are viewed out of every window. It is so private and peaceful we can’t wait to return.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The pictures just do not give justice to the view. We arrived at night which was a truly magical experience, walking down the lighted path through the woods and watching the moon rise over the water and waking up to the sunrise, breathtaking views, and of course the lobster boats. The cottage is somewhat rustic, but is stylish and nicely laid out with good storage spaces, a well stocked kitchen, supplies (but bring your own board games), comfortable furniture, cozy blankets, and a fabulous deck overlooking the water. We enjoyed neighborhood walks, day trips to Rockland, Camden, Lincolnville, Pemaquid Point and Damariscotta, exploring the Boothbay area and a lot of time on the deck (the foggy days with coffee and a book were the best). We can't wait to come back.

This was our 2nd time at the cottage. We absolutely love this hidden gem. The view is breathtaking each time. We spent our mornings and evenings on the deck watching the boats stroll by and the waves crashing below. The cottage is cozy and has all the accommodations you need for a great vacation house. We especially loved the telescope and books all over. We look forward to it every couple of years.

Cute house. The view is everything though. Can sit out there for days and it just doesn’t get old. Great neighborhood. Close to town. Can’t wait to go back!

The house and setting were more than we ever dreamed possible. Even when you are inside the house you feel like you are right on the water. It was so peaceful and quiet but close enough to town, etc. We already booked our stay for next summer!

This complaint in this review may no longer be relevant if information about the listing is updated.
After a long drive, we were not sure where to park. We drove down the driveway and were informed by an irate neighbor that this always happens. Although the information on parking said "two dedicated parking spots, space for three on the street", the only parking for this house is on the street. The neighbor's parking is much closer to the rented house and when the houses were built, the same family likely owned both houses and shared parking. After a long drive, getting into the middle of an ongoing neighbor's squabble was not pleasant.
To fix these problems, I suggest the parking instructions say "There is space just off the street that can fit three cars, Nearby driveways belong to neighboring properties and should not be used."
The other issue I had with the house was that I was not prepared for the work involved in getting all of my stuff into the house. Due to the pandemic, we had enough supplies to quarantine, and getting all of that stuff into the house was a pain. Also, I am not disabled, but since I had recently injured my foot, carrying everything to the house was even more of an effort.
The description of the property should state the following:
"The dirt path leading to the house includes 43 steps and may not be appropriate for those with disabilities or those concerned with having to carry what they might need to the house. "
Having said that, the house was great, and many people will enjoy the charm of a house that is away from where a car can go.
Thank you for staying with us, Michael. We are glad you enjoyed this lovely home but we apologize for any inconvenience due to the parking available. Please note that parking for three vehicles is at the top of the walking path to the cottage. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Yes ! The view is stunning from being right across from Inner Heron Island and open ocean to the right. The boat traffic is endless from working lobster boats, power boats, sail boats and an occasional mega yacht flying foreign flags. The sun rises slightly to the left of the deck and is beautiful. I like to sleep in so if you do to make sure to keep the blinds closed because it is powerful and beautiful.
Sunset is behind the cottage and the houses on Inner Heron Island light up and their windows appear on fire. There are hundreds of lobster buoys out front and when the sun sets they explode with different colors. This all starts at about 4 P.M. and lasts about an hour and a half.
BTW the cottage is fantastic also. Newly decorated and has everything one would need. But the view !! Magical !!

Great place. Peaceful and relaxing. Right on the edge of the ocean. Quick drive to restaurants and stores. Cookware and dishes were plentiful. Loved the binoculars and telescope!
