The staff I worked with Dustin,Brie, Melanie and Kelsey. When we arrived it was late. 10.00 PM. We discovered the house was already occupied.Called VaCasa. Dustin advised he would get in touch with VaCasa management in Pensacola to find out what was going on and have management contact us. at 10;25 called Vacasa again to see what was going on. I spoke with Melanie repeated what I told Dustin and that I was still waiting for a call back. Melanie contacted Brie her manager. Brie was GREAT. It took a while but she did find us another house for the night at 11:30 PM. It was a nice house but 30 minutes further away from where we needed to be. The next morning around 10.00am Kelsey contacted us to let us know the other house was vacant and the cleaning crew was on their way to clean it and it would be ready for us after that. we settled into the property we had rented originally. it was alright but the house has roaches, towels and dish cloth, dish towels were left in dryer. We were told by Vacasa there would be no charge for the first night when we arrived. After all we didn't get into a house until after midnight. I am not sure what went wrong with this but it seems like if the cleaning people clean after each rental, they would have let someone know that the people that were to check out before us were still in the house. I don't really know what went wrong... I will say the staff I worked with were doing the best they could do to fix the problem. I do appreciate their efforts.
House is great spaced out. Pool was clean. Floors were a little dirty and it shouldn’t be advertised as a 3/3 with the 3rd bathroom being “outside”. The 3rd bathroom is an outhouse toilet that didn’t work and a water hose run along the ground from the pool to a shower head.
All that aside the house still would’ve been 5 stars. as the outside shower really isn’t a big deal, if it weren’t for the roaches. We killed probably 15+ during our 4 nights. When we finally got ahold of the Vacasa manager they handled it well. Told us they’d put us in a new property and give us a partial refund. They also said they could have an exterminator out that day but that would’ve meant getting spray all over our stuff so we opted to have it sprayed the day we left. Whether or not that happened I’m not sure. So Vacasa gets a 5 star for handling it but the house gets 2 from the roaches, if we went back next and no roaches it would be 5.
We have updated the shower information for the home so it's not a surprise to our guests. We are still working on a resolution to the roach problem as the home continues to get monthly treatments. We greatly appreciate this guest's patience and understanding.
The home was convenient to the Naval Museum and Perdido Key. We enjoyed both of those sites. The home had plenty of room and out little dog really enjoyed it. We enjoyed the pool. We did not bring a boat or jet skis, but will next time.
The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked VERY well. There were alot of bugs in the kitchen, so you may want to tell the exterminator to come more often or increase the mix.
The beaches at Perdido Key are not dog friendly. The dog friendly beaches were at Pensacola Beach, which was about 25 miles away.
I was a little nervous due to mixed reviews I had seen, but some recent ones suggested things had improved. We arrived to a pool that was green and disgusting. I emailed and requested someone take a look. No response until the pool guy came on Saturday and said, pool pump not working, I’ll call to see if we can get an electrician out here, looks like a bad breaker. He cleaned the pool, but it never cleared up. No response from owner or property manager even though I kept getting a promise of a phone call next day. Finally on day 6 of 7, an electrician came and replaced the breaker in literally 3 min.
To make it worse, the roaches are back, the dishwasher had issues, and the floors hadn’t been mopped in weeks. This house was basically an air conditioner above camping, if the campground pool is out of service.
They did offer a partial refund for the loss of amenity, but they can’t refund our lost time at the pool. We imagined a family vacation with grill, pool, backyard...
Owner needs to find a new line of work if he/she is not willing to respond to renter issues quickly. I’m sure the pool is good now, but our vacation was ruined!
We are very sorry this guest did not get to enjoy their pool time. We understand what a disappointment that must have been. The pool and pump are working without issue at this time, and we continually spray for bugs. Thank you!
Nice home and good location, just needs a top to bottom cleaning. Live roaches, had to wash bed sheets before we could go to bed, pool covered in algae.
We’re happy to report the pool has been cleaned since their stay, and the unit is being treated each month for the roach issue. We’re working with the owner to improve the overall charm of this home and wish to thank our guests for their patience. Thank you.
So after reading different reviews everything all in all was pretty good, Boat dock has new boards, there is a new grill there no green egg, frier in the pic is gone, nice kitchen gas stove new fridge, newer front load washer and drier, pool liner had been repaired and not stretched back properly so liner has a fold in it. But the master side of the house was fine, I wasn't in the other bedrooms.
Great location. Being on the water and having a pool was nice. Some housekeeping improvements would be nice but we would rent again.
We enjoyed our stay! The pool was fun for the kids and it's often hard to find a place when you have a dog. The no-see-ums were fierce, but I think that is true of the whole Pensacola area from what we've seen. We had a good time, lots to do, loved the Gulf Islands National Seashore, the Blue Angels and Joe Patti's Seafood Market, lots of good restaurants in the area, the boys went bow fishing one day & the Tall Ships Festival was happening. The Strawberry Festival sounded interesting, but we ran out of time. We'll just have to go back!
Very spacious home with plenty of room for family, kids, and pets. The pool was a plus and had great amenities.
This place has everything from pet friendliness, convenience to the bay and beach, pool, great outdoor area, and lots of room!
The house has a lot of space and is very private. And a great location. It was very clean, the pool was our favorite part it was wonderful
Very poor customer service on vasaca after we paid our $1200 to rent this property. When we arrived, we immediately did a walk through of the entire property when we found a major leak on the back porch (wouldn't have been a problem but it rained the entire time we were there)which is one of the reasons we picked the house (pics are deceiving porch much smaller than the pic makes it look like) I immediately called vacasa to report it, all I was told is ok thanks for calling I'll pass the information along. The outside commercial fryer, grill, and smoker were all dirty. We were able to clean the grill, but I wouldn't have used that fryer at all, the lid was half off, dirty pots and empty soup can with cigarette butts sitting on it. I could go on and on. But needless to say, we won't be back nor use this company again.
Home looked abandoned when we first pulled up , door locks are messed up on the doors in house , home no longer looks like the pictures on site . Couch is torn , recliner has faulty mechanism. Sunroom leaks , grill and other outdoor cooking equipment needs thrown out no longer usable.step down to the dock is unsafe.pool liner has a tear in it. And if trip a member of our party ended up locked in bathroom took us an hour to remove doorknob and locking mechanism to get them out .
The couch now has a cover on it, the pool liner has been repaired, door knobs have been repaired, and the grills have been cleaned. The sunroom does still have a leak that the owner is working on repairing. Thank you!
Overall a lovely home. It had everything we needed, we had a wonderful time with family and we all felt at home, close to local restaurants, stores, beaches, and the kids had a blast in the pool. We will definitely return next reunion. Thank you sooo much for sharing your home with my family.
Beautiful home. Well stocked and clean. Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.
Enjoyed our stay loved the pool and location
We loved it and will be going back in future!!
the neighborhood was nice, the house was nice and pretty clean.
The Pool was the selling tool for us, we had breakfast out by the pool, and dinner, and swim several times a day.
Master bedroom / bath was super nice.
Close to the Perdido Bay, very nice! We had a great time of relaxation!
Fisherman's Paradise was a beautiful property convenient to beaches and other points of interest in Pensacola. I appreciate the fact that I was able to bring my fur babies with me with no problem. The only complaint I have was that the chlorinator in the pool was broken, so it was green and unusable. We contacted the property manager who said someone was to come by to fix it, but that never happened. Unfortunately, one of our dogs became ill while we were visiting, so the pool was no longer a priority, but we still enjoyed our stay and will DEFINITELY be coming back in the future for a longer stay!
We sincerely apologize the pool was out of order for this stay. The broken chlorinator has been replaced. Thanks!
This house was great for our family gathering. But having more furniture in the living room would be great. Love the fact our dog could come with us.
My husband, our kitty Daniel and I were thrilled to stay at Fisherman's Paradise over the Columbus Day weekend 2016. The house is FAR and above the cleanest, most comfortable and well-equipped home we have seem and the name FAR undersells it's location to everything in the area. It is not just a fisherman's paradise, it is a vacationer's dream. The pool is lovely, the kitchen well-sticked, the laundry facility in the house immaculate and the home's screened back patio is above any beyond. The grill, smoker, deep fryer and exhaust set up are premium and the location is perfectly situated for daily trips out to all areas in Pensacola, Oensacola Beach, Orange Beach, etc. We could not have been more thrilled. Thank you so very much for this wonderful place and the amenities it boasts!!!
My favorite area of Florida! Thankful for the comforts of home in beautiful surroundings. A few days at the beach, and a day at the museum with 3 boys, then they would swim until dark. In the private pool. You could hear the fish jumping in the bay, and it felt like visiting family. The Blue Angels practicing over head was a bonus!! Close to all needed shopping, and restaurants.
After a death in the family and needed a place for people to stay getting this house at the last minute was exactly what we needed. Good location and the reservation department was awesome.
We enjoyed our stay. Loved the Pool and its location to the Beach
We had a blast. Great location, great house. My daughter and I loved enjoying the pool in the evenings while my husband grilled and relaxed. Would love to stay here again in the future.
The property was OK. The fishing in this area was very good if you are interested in fishing. We carried our dog and it was nice to have the entire backyard fenced for him to play.
The house was pretty awesome. Pool in the back for your convince but the grill was not cleaned. It was filthy. The fire pit outside was rusted so bad the bottom had a huge whole. It could for sure use new updated furniture outside
We are sorry to see that some things were missed for this stay. The fire pit has been removed, and the BBQ has been thoroughly cleaned. The owner has ordered new patio furniture so our guests can fully enjoy the outdoors while staying here.
Our family enjoyed the layout of the Fisherman's Paradise home. The house is as pretty as the pictures on the website. The pool was a bonus! The grandchildren along with the adults loved having a pool just off the back porch.
Loved the house just needed update outside furniture. Will come back. The pool and fishing was great.
My only concern is when the custodian greeted us she informed us about a weed in the yard with burrs that can stick in your bare feet and in your dogs paws also. I would think there must be a weed killer you could apply ( Truman ) our dog says that would be great.
Overall Fisherman's Paradise is not a bad home, but checking in you need to realize that this is not a high-end property. We had some problems with the property. For instance the grill wasn't cleaned in and the propane was empty, the sheets on the bed were dirty, the roof leak, and the pool heater was broken. Sadly the biggest problem we had was with the management company. No one ever took the time to call or email me even though I emailed them and called more than a few times. I feel like they just took my money and that's it. I even asked for a simple thing like an itemized statement comma but they couldn't even give me that. I won't be using the website again
We apologize for the inconveniences and disappointments experienced during this stay. The Property Manager will follow-up with housekeeping regarding the cleanliness issues and will check into the roof leak. This pool is not heated, and we apologize for any miscommunication regarding that matter. We are currently hiring more staff to assist in better responding to emails and phone calls in a timely fashion.
The online booking and follow up emails were PERFECT! The communication was spot on with details. I never had to worry about a thing. The entire booking experience was extremely convenient and pleasant!
And we LOVED the place. Unfortunately we didn't get to utilize the pool or outdoor patio with grill because of the weather, but we hope to come back and enjoy a whole new experience at Fisherman's Paradise.
Thanks to the owners who are willing to share their home with travelers like us :)

We have been going to Pensacola/OBA area since 2011 and this is by far our favorite place to stay!!!
We had a great relaxing stay here with our pooch. It was great to have the great lagoon state park so close, where you can imagine what an undeveloped Florida would look like, with great bird life. There is a grocery store and cvs very close. Across the bridge is another state park with a long beach. Pensacola and Pensacola Beach are a little drive. Would definitely come back here.
This is a VERY nice and comfortable pet friendly house on a quiet street. Very close to Perdido Key and all the local attractions. Owner and staff are very friendly and professional.
We used the instant booking option for this property and everything was easily confirmed in a matter of hours. Procedures for getting keys was seamless, no problems at all. Had a great time here, visited the sights on base and then drove to USS Alabama nearby! Beds were comfy, we all slept like babies. Bathrooms were extremely clean, everything worked, water pressure was awesome! Garden tub in master bath was so relaxing after a day sightseeing. The location of the house was very convenient, lots of pet doors so our small dogs could come and go to the fenced side yard. Someone even left a tennis ball behind and that was a blessing for the pups! Being that we were there in early Feb, we did not use the pool, and no boat so we didn't use the dock.
That being said, I probably wouldn't stay at this property again. Floors were sandy (which I can accept since it was a Florida property) but they were also dirty, our feet were black after a short amount of time. The kitchen needed some attention, the main work areas (oven, counters, sink, fridge) were clean but everything else was kind of sticky and dusty. The washer and dryer were so handy, I'm glad the owner left them available, however the washer had the funky smell and the dryer vent (and probably the entire vent tube) needed vacuumed/cleaned, there was a lot of build up on the lint screen...just an FYI to prevent a fire. Table in the kitchen was wobbly and coffee was spilled whenever someone lightly bumped it (small detail but by the 2nd morning it was annoying). Dining room chairs needed scrubbed, there were spills and dried food on them. And the vertical blinds throughout the house were ANNOYING. The dining room's valance FELL on me when I tried to adjust the blinds and one of the slats was broken and booby-trapped for whoever touched it (which was me). The back of the recliner in the living room was broken and I could have cried that this comfy-looking chair was unusable. Remaining seating was comfortable but we didn't have a lot of room to spread out, some more seating would have been good.
To sum up, everything in the house WORKED like it should have, no complaints on that. Cute property that just needs a little more elbow grease.
Thank you for your review. We are very disappointed to see that the home had been so poorly cleaned and that there were so many maintenance issues. The Property Manager has been given a copy of your review and will address all of these issues as quickly as she can. We are glad to see that the home worked out so well for the pets!
