Beautiful, clean, quiet, and a spectacular view! Vacasa communicated specific details, were courteous, and professional to say the least! I would highly recommend!

Want one of the best views in all of the Smokies and a convenient location? This is the place! Legacy Mountain Resort where this cabin is located sits on a mountain and every single cabin there like this one has gorgeous views out large picture windows to Mount Le Conte and the surrounding ranges. You’re close to everything - it’s an easy drive to Gatlinburg or to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Even the pleasures of Pigeon Forge are a quick drive down the road. Yes, the cabins are close together, but you still have privacy. And did I mention the views?
Let’s get to the specifics of this cabin. It’s a one bedroom with a nice king bed. But it sleeps six because you have a double sofa sleeper upstairs and one downstairs. The cabin is in pretty good shape considering it’s around 15 years old. Furnishings are nice overall. You’ve even got a full kitchen with some basic kitchenware if you would like do do your own cooking. You can even take the cooking outdoors on a charcoal grill (with way better views than your home grill) located out in front of the cabin. Just be sure to bring your own grilling supplies. As far as other amenities, the cabin comes stocked with some fancy soaps and shampoos like you’d find in a hotel. They also supplied a little laundry detergent, dish washing detergent and even a small bottle of dish soap. One suggestion: Maybe supply some salt and pepper or some packs of sugar? This is pretty standard for most hotels. And while I know this is a cabin and not a hotel, all the luxury SUV’s I saw at the resort makes me think everyone else paid as much or more than I did to stay here (I’d like to think more) and one thing I know about luxury SUV clientele is that they will give you five stars as long as you give them free salt, pepper and sugar. Heck, throw in some free coffee too and you’ll guarantee yourself a 5 star rating from these people.
However, a 15+ year old cabin can come with some surprises. In our case, the main (top) floor A/C decided to give up the ghost while we were there (but the downstairs unit still blew nice and cold). And this wouldn’t normally be an issue in the spring with outside temperatures only topping out in the upper 70s (Fahrenheit). But remember the picture windows? Well, you can’t open them. In fact, only two windows on the main level open. Those windows also let in a lot of light and heat. So with no A/C upstairs, the temperatures inside rose into the lower 80s. But never fear, Vacasa is here! One call to the customer service line and the nice agent put in an “emergency ticket” with the local maintenance folks. Within an hour, they were on the scene verifying the A/C was toast and that we were toast too. They dispatched an HVAC pro to take care of things, but he couldn’t be there until the next day. So in about another hour ‘maintenance pro number 2’ was at our cabin with a portable A/C unit. While it wasn’t large enough to cool things down quickly, it was a nice gesture even if I had to remove the screen to one of the two open-able windows and properly install it myself (he had placed it on the inside of the cabin, but I knew it would leak water all over if I didn’t properly put it in place). That said, I was impressed with the local team’s quick response to my issue. Oh. And the HVAC guy that came the next day? He fixed the issue. But not before hiking back and forth up and down the mountain a few times and wrangling a 12 foot snake he came across in the brush behind the cabin. That dude deserves a raise if any of his bosses happen to read this. Seriously. Pay the man.
Ok, back to the cabin: Now that the A/C is fixed, all is going well. Although, being a wood cabin in the spring there was the issue of the ‘fighting carpenter bees’ outside on the deck. And also in the front of the cabin. It seems as though the carpenter bees like to swarm and dig holes in wood cabins this time of the year. Again, not to fear. They don’t sting. So while annoying at times, especially when chasing each other around, they really don’t bother you. Although they might act like they’re going to.
Ok, let’s talk about some maintenance issues I’d be concerned about if I were the owner of this property:
1.) The outside of the cabin needs re-stained. It’s starting to look not-so-good. Especially the right side. Maybe that’s where the sun hits it. Or maybe I never saw the other side.
2.) The right side of the cabin is also missing a gutter and downspout. Or maybe a big black bear just climbed up there and ripped it off? This is the Smokies after all, so I guess you can’t be too certain.
3.) The upper and lower decks are showing some wear and likely need to be re-stained soon. Especially where rain can hit them.
4.) The lower deck is sagging about 1/2 inch+ on the side with the hot tub. You can see the boards bent a little and the spindles have dropped in the rail as it has been compressed. This makes me a bit nervous. But after a few double bourbons on the rocks, I totally forgot about it. Anyway, you might want to inspect it.
5.) The deck railings aren’t very secure due to a not-so-great design and age, but don’t fear! They have used some wiring, eyehole hooks and fancy turnbuckles to help secure them. That said, don’t let your intoxicated spouse lean on them. Or lean on you while you’re leaning on it. Or don’t let your kids lean on it. While I’m sure it’s fine with the wire-job, just be careful.
6.) The bathroom door in the master suit no longer closes. Probably just need to adjust the latch plate. But it’s kind of a mood killer when my wife can hear what’s going on in the bathroom before bedtime. So maybe fix this.
7.) I like to sleep with a ceiling fan going on low. But the one in the master bedroom is stuck on high. Gale force winds do not make for a good slumber. Why is it stuck? Well, it’s one of those fancy remote control ones with no pull chains. And the remote control unit and remote was in the HVAC closest unopened and not installed. So just install it. Problem fixed.
8.) The hot tub had a little bit of a musty smell to it. Not sure why because the bromine floating dispenser was in there and it appeared to have bromine in it. Not a huge issue, but my Speedo did smell a little funny after getting out. Yeah, I wear a Speedo. So what?
Now, all of that said, these are nit-picky things just to assist Vacasa in keeping the cabin in tip-top shape. I would have been glad to fix some of them for a reduced rate on my stay. Heck, had I worked this deal out, I would brought along my tools. Also, speaking of fixing things, while we were there I did have to plug the downstairs cable box back in (someone had unplugged it) and tighten the COAX going into it so it would work. I also got the thermostats back on the WiFi. Maybe that’s worth a $5 discount?
All in all a great stay and great service, despite the A/C issue and the minor maintenance issues. We will return. And we would most certainly book with Vacasa again for all of our vacation rental needs.
Now, about that discount?

We LOVED this cabin. It was very clean (even under the couches) and it smelled fresh! The views of the Smoky Mountains were breathtaking. The sun rises could leave you speechless! The cabin felt like home - the dishwasher and washing machine/dryer were a blessing! The kitchen was well stocked with tools/dishes - my only point to note here was that there wasn't a strainer (we got creative). There are no spices/oils/etc. The bathrooms have a set of 'hotel' shampoo/conditioner/lotion but you will definitely need to bring extras if you are planning for more than a night (same with toilet paper). The master bed is huge and SO comfortable; however, the two pullout beds aren't anything to write home about. Good enough for the kids. I am a little bothered about the hot tub cleaning fee - as well as the promise that the hot tub is drained/refilled between each guest. We watched the cabin next to us and this did not happen... The water pressure doesn't seem like it would be a possibility either... I don't think with all the chemicals that this is a necessity; however, I'd rather not pay for something that is not happening either.... Finally two small hiccups: (1) It took us 2 phone calls over 2 days to get the correct WIFI information and (1) 2 phone calls and 2 visits from the maintenance man to look at the failing cooling system upstairs. He agreed it was broken and would need HVAC - HVAC never called to plan a visit while we were there. That night the upstairs was 77°. The following day the temperatures dropped. Again, not a big deal but with all the extra fees/costs this cabin is not cheap!
Angela, thank you for your visit. Your feedback is appreciated as well. We do not drain the hot tubs between guests unless there is an issue or it is time on the cleaning schedule for that to occur. We do clean and test the hot tubs between each guest. That is what the fee is for. We are sorry to hear that there was a delay in getting WIFI information. We will ensure that all posted information is correct. We will share your review with the local staff as well. We hope you'll visit again very soon.

Nice view. Cozy cabin. Great area

This cabin was absolutely beautiful, extremely well maintained, and impeccably clean. The linens and towels were all high quality. The blankets were comfy. The furniture was in great condition. The view was absolutely stunning for both sunset and sunrise! We were so blessed by every aspect of the cabin. I called guest services with Vacasa about a missing tv remote and they sent Ernie to replace it. Ernie went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The Guest services lady was wonderful as well. I will always book with Vacasa. I’ve had bad experiences with other property management companies. Vacasa restored my faith in the whole process. And this cabin was absolutely terrific! My husband and I have been talking about buying a cabin in the area for ourselves and this one was exactly what we would look for. Just perfection!

We loved the view, the kitchen, the balcony and the hot tub. We loved how secluded it was and away from Gatlinburg / Pigeon Forge. We were also really pleased with the customer. I had an issue with the WiFi and we were unable to get on it. I had a hot spot which made it not a major issue. However, Vacasa was nice enough to refund us ~$180 due to the inconvenience. We would
Love to come back, we recommended this place to a friend and they have already booked their own stay after the New Years!!

We had a great time enjoying this beautiful rustic cabin. Every dollar was worth and we felt very comfortable. Definitely, we would love to come back.
Leslie M.Nov 2020
The cabin was beautiful. It was everything you seen in the pictures. the only thing different from the pictures and being there was the mountain view from every where in the house and outside. the pictures do it no justice. The views were absolutely STUNNING!!!! We will deff be back.
Ramona L.Oct 2020
We enjoyed our stay! And the house was great and taken care of.
Kyle D.Oct 2020
Cabin was in decent shape (there was a nail protruding from the steps into the hot tub that nearly got us) with a little bit of general TLC needed. But do not let that dissuade you from the best feature: an incredible view. Is there a better way to start your day than a Smokey Mountain sunrise? We will be back!
Thank you for your review, Kyle! The nail on the hot tub step has been hammered down. We hope to see you again!

The cabin was very comfortable!! Loved the view.
Briana K.Aug 2020
The cabin was absolutely stunning. The view was beyond beautiful. It was very spacious and extremely clean! The hot tub and jet tub inside is what absolutely sold this cabin for my partner and I. We would book it again in a heartbeat!
Karen W.Aug 2020
This cabin was amazing. It was very clean and spacious. The views of the mountains are astounding. Contact less check in and check out. I loved the bottom floor that had an entire sitting area outside of the bedroom. There was a balcony on both levels. The cabin was in a great location that was close to entertainment areas in Pigeon Forge. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. We will definitely return to this cabin.

Had a great vacation in this cabin. The view really makes it. Cabin was clean and comfortable. We would come back.
We had some issues with the A/C and Internet. Took 2 days to get a response from Vacasa but once the local management team was aware, they were very responsive and we were able to have everything resolved on day 4. I was not aware the contact information on the check-in communications was coming from their corporate office. I would ensure you have the local contact number if you stay here to eliminate the delay.
We apologize for the delay in communications as we handle heavier than normal call volumes. We appreciate your patience and hope to see you again!

We had a great time and very much enjoyed the cabin! The views were really amazing! The cabin was very clean and well taken care of. We were not able to get the wifi to work but we didn't research it too hard because we used our cell signals for internet so thankfully we had no issue with cell coverage in the area (AT&T service). There is plenty to do around the area and all within a 15-20 minute drive. Quality place for sure. We would stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

This cabin was amazing! The views from the upper and lower porches, where we spent every sunrise and sunset, were nothing short of awesome. The kitchen was large and stocked with enough utensils/plates/pots and pans for the two of us. There were no spices/cooking spray/etc, so be sure to bring everything you would need down to the salt and pepper. This was a perfect place to get away for the weekend and socially isolate from the crowds! The house was incredibly clean as well, which obviously is a huge necessity these days. It took only about 10-15 mins to get to an entrance of the GSMNP. I would most certainly book again!!

The cabin was excellent. Well decorated, clean and comfortable. The views of the mountains were absolutely amazing. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
