Riverfront log cabin w/private deck/wood-burning fireplace/firepit/WiFi/Netflix!

This classic mountain lodge, while boasting a historic design, offers plenty of modern living with free WiFi, a DVD player, and even Netflix streaming to while away the winter afternoons with! This home sits on the banks of the Wenatchee River and covers two-and-a-half acres of private land. This is a log home crafted from hand-hewn Ponderosa Pine salvaged from the Yellowstone fires of 1988 and based on the floor plans of the historic Jefferds Tavern of York, ME, erected in 1750. On the first floor, you'll find a large and open living space with a large flatscreen TV, comfortable furniture, and a stacked-stone wood-burning fireplace with two entries (one for wood fires, the other for cooking, with a pot-crane and cooking vessels). To the side, you'll find a laundry room and a bathroom with a step-in shower.

Keep moving and you'll find a small sitting area beneath high vaulted ceilings and the full kitchen nestled under a loft. The family chef will love playing around with the stainless steel appliances (especially the indoor grill!), the gadgets, and ample counter space when making tonight's home-cooked meal, and the dining table sits up to eight guests for those elegant dinner parties! There is also a sliding glass door that leads out to the deck where you can enjoy your first cup of coffee or a glass of evening wine. The upstairs main bedroom features a king-size bed, vaulted ceilings, a wood-burning stove, and an en suite bathroom with vaulted ceilings and skylights. A second upstairs bedroom has two sets of twin bunks, vaulted ceilings, and plenty of room to move around in. To the side, the loft area has a toddler-size table and chairs, games, puzzles, and seating. Guests to the lodge will have access to the main cabin and the river.

What's nearby:

Love the private location on the river & the character of this beautiful log home. Can’t wait to return

Chateau McClelland came as described in all appearances based on the information provided in the listing description - cozy, nicely decorated, comfortable beds and living room area and a great location by the river. However, it missed the mark on hospitality. We have been vacationing in VRBO's for over 15 years and have realistic expectations when choosing our getaways. This stay felt more like we had borrowed our friends cabin for the weekend rather than paid for a Vacation Rental.
Pros: The wifi worked great and we needed that so the kiddos could go to school durning the day. The furnace keeps the entire cabin nice and warm. The view and location to the river are great.
Lighting – the house is full of lamps since there are not many overhead fixtures. We had to look all around for new lightbulbs as numerous lights were out. We had to take bulbs from non-needed fixtures as we couldn’t locate enough new bulbs. Numerous lamps were also just broken and not useable which really cut down on the available lighting when it got dark out.
The kitchen while lovely in appearance was highly unorganized with all items in random locations. All of the items in the drawers and cabinets were just haphazardly thrown in. Very minimal kitchen cooking basics were discoverable (bring your own coffee). (No ziplocks/tinfoil) There were no instructions on how to use the indoor grill so we avoided that completely.
Bathrooms: drawers/cabinets were filled with homeowners items so really no place to put our own items during the stay. The jacuzzi tub took a little internet research on how to operate properly as there were no notes from the homeowner.
Fireplace had ashes in it but the log receptacle was empty - we had to go out and find our own dry wood.
The closets and all of the storage places were full/unorganized - chaos in the main closet - which left us no place to store any of our coolers/suitcases/totes. There are plenty of storage spaces but all of them have homeowner items so they become unusable for the guests.
There is just stuff everywhere, every shelf/table surface has something on it. Wall art and empty frames leaning on the floors, random non-kitchen items stored on top of the refrigerator.
The water has a very noticeable sulfur odor and taste which would have been nice to know prior to getting there so we could have brought in fresh bottled water.
We were thankful to have had the opportunity to getaway and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, we were just underwhelmed by the accumulation of the little things that were not taken care of.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Jennifer. We are glad you enjoyed your stay! We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we'll pass your suggestions to the owner for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Great place! Nice because it's not an overly enormous home, just right for a few families who like to hang together and perfect for kids~
