Cozy two-level mountainview cottage w/ balcony, close to skiing and lake

Enjoy a fantastic Big Bear ski vacation with the kids or another couple at this inviting two-level cottage with a full kitchen and balcony with fantastic mountain view.

This two-bedroom home is on a quiet street just three miles southeast of the shore of beautiful Big Bear Lake. If you're visiting during the winter months, enjoy easy access to the slopes of Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, both roughly two miles from your front door. Please note that when the snow is falling, we recommend the use of a 4x4 vehicle or tire chains to get to and from your home.

Featuring high ceilings, a decorative fireplace and golden wood decor, this cottage combines the feel of a rustic ski lodge with plenty of modern conveniences to make you feel right at home. Walk into the bright and spacious living room and lounge on the comfortable furniture, including two plush recliners and a classic rocker. Step through the sliding glass door and out onto the private balcony where you can enjoy the intoxicating scent of the evergreens and the spectacular mountain view.

Enter the full and airy kitchen with drawers and cabinets containing a variety of utensils, cookware, and dinnerware, as well as essential appliances including a refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, and microwave oven. You'll also be cooking with gas with the four burner range, and with the provided grill outside, make plans for a barbecue if your visit falls during the warmer months! And enjoy those home-cooked meals or a few friendly board games (there's a selection in the living room) at the kitchen table with seating for four.

Both bedrooms are located on the lower-level of this home. In the first bedroom is a queen-size bed, while the second room has a double bed. The bathroom with tub/shower combination is conveniently located right at the top of the stairs. With two bedrooms and a full bath, this rental is ideal for up to four guests.

Share stories, photos, and videos with everyone back home thanks to the provided WiFi. Watch your favorite shows or program your own movie nights on the flatscreen TV with Netflix streaming and DVD player located in the living room.

While many make the trip to the area during the winter months to ski the fantastic runs of Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, the whole area offers plenty of year-round recreation. When the mercury is rising, head up to Big Bear Lake for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and lakeside picnicking. Or add a little high-speed excitement to your visit and try kneeboarding, parasailing, or tubing! And after playing on or around the lake, take a stroll through the nearby city for terrific eateries and unique shops.

It is a cute little cabin, that has everything you need. My fiance and I cooked all of our meals. We even baked some cookies and pies to get the holiday season started. We only left the cabin one time out of the whole weekend. And it was just a quick trip to the grocery store. The cabin was so cozy. We enjoyed just snuggling watching movies on the streaming Netflix that is provided, and baking/cooking. The view form the balcony is very nice. The only thing we were bummed out about was the fireplace. It is only for decoration. Other than that I highly recommend this cabin for a weekend getaway.

We loved this little cozy cabin. It has everything that my family needed for the vacation. Close to town and lake. We would recommend to people and we will definitely come back again. The only thing could improve is hot water. In order to make sure everyone has hot water for shower, we will wait for 30minutes before the next person goes to shower. Maybe a better water heater will be nice. This is something that is manageable, so it does not affect too much on our overall experience.

I would not recommend this place. Half of the lights went out and we had to go around the house in 3 feet of snow to reset the breakers since the maintence person didn't want to come out. The shower temperature did not stay hot for more than 10 minutes at a time before the water became cold. Worst of all, the parking area was a dirt lot and was a complete mud pit because of recent weather. Our cars were covered with mud and a pair of my shoes were ruined from all the mud. We we're told that we could not park anywhere else which was very disappointing.

Overall, we didn't have the best experience in this cabin.
Manager response:
We're very sorry the guest didn't have a positive experience during their stay. The concerns with the lights and the hot water heater were the result of a storm that knocked the power out in the area. The owner has scheduled for a contractor to pave the driveway, which should result in less problems with tracking mud and dirt. Thank you.
