We came for skiing weekend and stayed at cottage which was 10 min to Okemo. As advertised.

Don’t let the exterior rustic look fool you. The inside is well kept, clean and cozy. The lakeside location was beautiful and we even met and ice fisherman after skiing who showed us how it’s done. Would def return.

My girlfriend and I rented the property for a ski vacation. On the plus side, the property was in a great location as it was less than ten minutes to get to Jackson Gore resort for the lifts. I also believe the property would be very nice in the summertime due to its location on Echo Lake and great views of the lake. However, I'm rating this poorly for a few reasons that were very important to us. First, we arrived on Super Bowl day with the plan to watch the Super Bowl from the cabin to kick off our vacation. To our surprise, even though the VRBO listing indicated there was a TV, there was NO CABLE TV in the cabin! This wasn't identified anywhere in the VRBO listing (we booked thru VRBO and not Vacasa). While the listing doesn't specifically list out Cable TV as an amenity, it does list Television as an amenity. Given this, I wouldn't have thought a television that actually provides TV programming to be an unreasonable expectation. So to start the vacation, we had no access to the Super Bowl. So we tried to hook up my phone to the TV and use the internet for streaming the game. Well, not so fast...I haven't experienced internet speeds this slow since the dial-up modem days. The modem was likely ten years old and kept losing the signal. The property manager came out and called the service provider and we found out that the property only had 5mb of bandwidth. So we made due with watching the Super Bowl during the second half (we missed the first half due to all the problems) and dealt with the periodic downtime. Ultimately the local property manager (who was trying to assist us the best he could) was able to get the local service provider out to get us a new modem that didn't lose the signal. No better speed, but at least we didn't lose the signal. We had to deal with the incredibly slow speeds throughout the entire stay. This didn't help when we had to do periodic video calls for work purposes..
Other issues. The bedroom downstairs was incredibly hard and the pillows were like rocks. We ended up using one of the rooms upstairs. While there were plenty of utensils, there is a hodge podge of glass ware that makes wine and cocktails a challenge as you had to reuse the same glasses constantly. There also we not certain basics like a cooking sheet for the oven. Overall, made due, but would not come back here.
Hi, Joe! We are sorry to see you were not happier with your stay. This unit doesn't have cable, but it does have a DVD player, and guests are welcome to bring their own streaming devices. We will be doing kitchen inventory so we can replace and missing or broken items. We hope to have an opportunity to impress you in the future!

Our family spent a lovely weekend in your cottage..the accommodations were just right, the setting so peaceful and pretty. Even on a rainy day, we enjoyed ourselves. The dvd selection was also fun as my adult children revisited some films from their younger days. Sunday morning we awoke to brilliant sun and shimmering water. Thank you for the happy memories!

Kayaking was nice here but shore shallow and weedy. Had to swim at island...which dog loved. Route 100 close so dog was always on lead.
Kitchen down a step could be hazard but well equipped and comfy beds. No instructions on tv use so we read.
We are happy that you enjoyed your trip! Our Guest Services line at 503-345-9399 is available 24/7 to assist.
We also have a home guide in the check-in e-mail that assists with TV's and other commonly asked questions. We hope to host you again soon!

We just spent the good part of a week at this cabin just north of Ludlow. The location was perfect- the house was set a good distance away from the road right near the edge of the lake so I never had to worry about the kids and traffic. The lake was so fun for swimming (perfect temperature for our trip in August!), snorkeling, canoeing and fishing. There was a little island close by that was great to paddle around with the kids and explore. The little beachy area at the end of the lawn was great for the dog and kids to wade in the water or dig for shells. We saw several varieties of fish, frogs, a bald eagle, a beaver swimming late at night, hummingbirds... so fun! We even ate a delicious trout caught from the lake for lunch one day! The beds were clean and comfortable, we all slept well. We cooked on the grill (worked fine with the provided propane but was very rickety) and we made delicious meals in the well equipped kitchen. We appreciated the reusable pods for the Keurig so we could easily use the coffee that we brought. The washer/dryer worked perfectly and we appreciated the provided detergent pods. The kids loved the bunk beds with trundle. The shower had good pressure and the water was nice and hot. The outdoor chairs were fine, but the house lacked an outdoor table for eating. I will say that there are several different levels in the flooring inside (you step down into the kitchen, for example), so it would not be suitable for someone in a wheelchair. But I don’t think it should be an issue for most groups of renters.
We also loved the area. We explored the Vermont Country Store in Weston, went for a nice challenging hike on the Appalachian Trail, grabbed tackle at the little shop less than a half mile from the house, got groceries in town, had fun doing the adventure course at Okemo, had a great dinner in Killington at the Foundry, and explored Manchester and Bennington on the way home.
We decided that the house was a great value for the money. The location and view were our favorite parts. The house is clean and comfortable. We spent most of our time enjoying the lake, which really was wonderful. We would love to return for a longer trip again.

Absolutely beautiful place and location! Accurate description and photos! The kitchen has everything you need. The private yard was well kept and we enjoyed being barefoot the whole time! The view was amazing

Perfect cozy cottage in idyllic location, spectacular view of lake on the back. Okemo mountain nearby for skiers, hikers.
This cottage is clean, well stocked with all you will need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of kitchen gear, blankets, sheets, clean towels. Very well kept. We went for a short skii trip, but it must be gorgeous in the summer as well. You will feel like home instantly!

This little cabin tucked away on Echo Lake was perfectly represented by the pictures and description. The house has all of the amenities necessary to be comfortable, yet maintains it's rustic, lived in charm. The scenery on the lake is unmatched. It is an easy drive to nearby little towns. I will definitely be back!

The house is exactly as advertised. It was clean, and the lake is very pretty.
The property as a whole could use some basic upgrades, like an outdoor table, perhaps something like a hammock, and a fire pit near the water.
Families with small children should be aware that the road nearby is a major thoroughfare where cars travel at a high speed.

Some friends and I decided at the last second to get together for the weekend in Ludlow and luckily we were able to book this house one day in advance. We had an amazing weekend and would definitely go back. A couple of us went skiing at Okemo (very close by), some went to a bar down the street to watch soccer, and some went to the spa/gym at the mountain. Overall, it is a perfect location and the house is extremely comfortable. The view of the lake is beautiful and the house was very clean. I highly recommend this house to a group of 6-8 people.
