Historic, dog-friendly pavilion lodge - close to town, lake, and skiing

Whether you're planning for a wintertime ski-cation at Snow Summit, hiking adventures throughout the San Bernardino National Forest, or an uninterrupted stretch of freshwater fishing out on Big Bear Lake, this rustic, mountain-themed retreat is ideal for the whole family!

This spacious cabin is located right at the base of Big Bear Lake Village, a short stroll from numerous shops, restaurants, bars, and even a movie theater. For those looking for some fun in the great outdoors, the shore of Big Bear Lake is less than a half-mile from your front door. Enjoy a lakeside picnic or head out on the water in a kayak, on a waverunner, or aboard a pontoon boat all available for rent through Big Bear Marina.

This original pine knot lodge from the early 1900s offers old world rustic charm alongside a number of modern amenities. It's set up to host a large family or a couple smaller groups, making it perfect for a getaway any time of year and for any of the many activities the area has to offer.

Step into this unique home offering plenty of living space encircling an impressive three-sided, native stone-faced fireplace. Spread out and relax on one of the many provided seating options including multiple sofas and leather armchairs.

Nearby, there's a large dining table with seating for eight as well as a breakfast bar attached to the kitchen with four comfortable counter stools.

The well-equipped, full kitchen has cabinets and drawers stocked with essential cookware, utensils, and dinnerware, as well as a variety of countertop gadgets and appliances including a four-burner gas cooktop, wall oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a dishwasher to help you keep things nice and tidy during your stay.

The bedrooms all share an open section of the home, partitioned with provided privacy screens. There's one king-size bed, one queen, two twins, and two sets of twin bunks. With eight beds and two baths, this home sleeps up to 10 guests comfortably, and the family dogs are also welcome to join you for your stay for an additional nightly fee.

For home entertainment options, there's a library of books, complimentary WiFi is provided, and there's a large, flatscreen, cable TV with a soundbar in the living room/dining room area. Talented musicians are welcome to tickle the ivories of the beautiful Beadle & Langbein piano in the dining room. You can also enjoy fresh, clean clothes each and every day thanks to the washer and dryer located in the kitchen.

While there are plenty of exciting things to see and do during the warmer months, this area really comes alive once the snow starts falling! Offering 31 runs on 240 acres, Snow Summit is only two miles away while the larger Bear Mountain Resort (748 acres) is just four miles east. Visit both for prime Nordic and downhill skiing as well as snowboarding, sledding, and snowshoeing. And during the holiday season, downtown Big Bear Village transforms with sparkling lights, carolers, and a visit from Santa Claus. Please note that if you are visiting during the winter months, a 4x4 vehicle is required to get to and from the Big Bear Lake area.

Located just two hours from the heart of downtown Los Angeles, this home in Big Bear Lake is perfect for that next well-deserved vacation! Make your reservation with us today! Had a great time. My family enjoyed the peace and quiet and being able to relax and enjoy. The fenced-in yard was perfect so our furry family members did not have to be leashed all the time. We are hoping to make this trip an annual event.

Decor and furnishings are very vintage, old and slightly creepy but awesome. We enjoyed our time there. Walking distance to downtown restaurants and shops, live music and fires at night. Outside could use some clean up (cobwebs) but inside it was immaculate. Shared sleeping area is no big deal and you actually do feel like you have privacy. Showers and bathrooms worked perfectly. Did not use kitchen but all appliances etc appeared in working condition. Easily fit all of our cars in the private parking area.

Home is incredibly spacious. It needs a bit of mainenance, which we're sure will happen. Bathrooms on the small side, not a deal breaker for us. Loved the retro feel to the kitchen. Kitchen' s well stocked. Spacious yard/parking the kids had a blast playing outside. Games for the kids. Huge dining table. Will be back.
