Our family had an amazing time at your place in Sea Ranch over the past week. The house worked really great for the 9 of us (6 adults, 3 kids), and the location really couldn't have been better.
We've been to Sea Ranch a number of times before, and have never had weather like we did this time. 6 days and nights of nothing but clear skies, which made for some really special sunsets. Not at all what we were expecting when we booked almost a year ago, but we'll take it!! Hope to make it back next year.
My family visits Sea Ranch every year and we have stayed at a number of different houses. I chose this house for the view, and it did not disappoint! Beautiful ocean views from all angles, the hot tub on the deck perfectly positioned to enjoy the same views, it's just spectacular! We saw whales frolicking in the ocean from the deck, and enjoyed beautiful sunsets each night. The location is great, it's a 10 minute walk to Gualala point, a five minute drive to Walk on Beach and the Marine Preserve, a short drive to town or to the river for kayaking. It's also one of two houses on a cul-de-sac, which made for great bike and scooter riding for the kids in our group.
The house is clean and comfortable - I have read other reviews that nit pick over things like picture hooks on the wall - but I barely even noticed that because I was so taken with the incredible views.
One piece of advice from this trip - avoid Cove Azul restaurant, it was terrible!
I look forward to staying at this house again!
Well equipped spacious home.
Best view around. Near walking path to drink your coffee and enjoy the view.
We've enjoyed this great place before. Two suggestions for the owners: the hall bath fan is so loud it rattles the two hall bedrooms, making sleeping impossible! And the sporadic use of a few energy-saving bluish bulbs in track lighting seriously detracts from the otherwise pleasant ambience.
Love this house and location. Beautiful views ... close to the bluff trail ... walk to the beach ... near Gualala for grocery store access. Perfect for family weekend.
loved everything would stay again
We couldn't really leave the house, because of epic rains. However, we didn't mind. Great house.
Vacasa was extremely helpful - especially Holly!!! thanks for your great care. Wonderful stay.
This house is amazing! The layout, with 4 bedrooms downstairs and common room upstairs, works well. The views are breathtaking from every room in the house. Plenty of space to spread out or come together as a group.
The kitchen is well equipped for anything. There were tons of games and puzzles to occupy us on our rainy day. If you want a tv it is there, but hidden. The hot tub was great. The wall keeps it private, but you can still see and hear the ocean and stars.
The location of being on the northern end of sea ranch allowed for tons of privacy, close to the bluff trail loop, epic sunsets, 5 minutes from gualala. Which if you go, you must visit the gualala hotel and saloon.
It was perfect for my ladies weekend getaway.
This is one of the best lots in all of Sea Ranch. Drop dead
ocean front view. If you need a 4 bdrm place, this is it.
Great location. Three and a half bathrooms works well for large family.
Lots of room, tasteful decor, nice arrangement with living areas on upper floor to maximize views 180 degrees. Good location with path access and near town.
In a nut shell: View was magnificent; all windows have great views to the outdoors; multiple outdoor decks; spa right on the ocean side; great indoor light that that brings the outdoor in. sleep with the sound of waves, wake up with dears and quail around the home and watch whales from he upper deck This home offers it all. Not to mention direct access to the state park around the corner and Gualala right on the other side of the bridge for shopping.
The property management team was also available to help and prompt responding. Thank you.
We've stayed here before and will do so again -- we love this house! Perfect location, great views and well equipped.
This is the second time I've stayed in the Pelican Bluff (formerly Breaker's View) home. The home has a great design, appreciate the 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths for comfort and privacy for my golf friends. Hard not to take photos from morning through evening!
Very nice house, with probably one of the best views in Sea Ranch!
The views are fabulous from all windows, especially from the upstairs. The trails along the bluffs are wonderful for any ability, walking or hiking. The cottage was prefect for our 90 year old mom, she really enjoyed having her own space and quiet. There are no beach towels, so bring your own and bring your own sharp knives for the kitchen. But everything else was provided. Wish I could go back next month!!
Wonderful big house with the very BEST location!! Oceanfront home with plenty of room for the 6 of us, views from every window including the hot tub, trail right out front, everything clean and tidy. Only down sides: no working TV (not a huge deal, but good for folks to know) and outdoor grill also non-functional (this was a bummer for the cooks among us). Super easy check in/check out process. Thank you!
DirecTV has been installed, and a new BBQ will be ordered by the end of the month. Thank you!
The views are extraordinary.
The location is close to the sea, hiking trails are just out the back, and the golf course is within sight. This is a large house with an "in-law" unit and is well laid out: the common area is removed from the bedrooms and we can enjoy visiting without disturbing everyone. The stove top, oven, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and toaster all worked well. We also appreciated the wi-fi which worked very well. The hot tub was very nice.
The house, however, by being close to the salt water, can be affected by fog. The television did not work; we saw a message on screen that there was no signal.
Did we mention the great views?
There was 8 of us altogether. So this place worked out well for us.Overall it was very good.
Wonderful location. Fabulous house.
This house is the perfect place for a family getaway. There is a guest house for added privacy, and a master suite with the same effect. The kitchen balcony was the perfect location to watch a meteor shower we didn't realize would be happening. Ample parking, bike storage, kitchen, gathering, and dining space etc. Access to the bluff trail was a huge bonus. And the views are unbeatable - almost unbelievable. My favorite part was the reading nook in the stairway. Probably the best place I've ever stayed on vacation!
Got the family together for some time at the beach. House was clean and amazing. Had enough room and enough privacy for everyone. Walking trail right outside the back door which kept us busy. Perfect sunsets every evening. Would definitely revisit.
The location was great, right on the bluffs and right on the walking trails at the north end of Sea Ranch so that we could also walk in Gualala Point State Park. The house was spacious with great views and the rooms fit us and our grown kids to a "T." We felt comfortable just hanging out for the day or going out on an outing to Anderson Valley to sample wines - Navarro Winery especially recommended - going upto the Point Arena Lighthouse or all the way to Mendocino to gallery hop. The ribs at the Surf Market in Gualala was a pleasure to have if you didn't want to cook. We'd love to do this again.
We were a group of 8 adults and this home worked perfectly for us! The layout of the home allowed for privacy or quiet reading, but had a large enough gathering area to enjoy group activities, games, and meals together. The ocean views were spectacular, and we enjoyed watching the many deer that were all around the property. Only a 10-minute walk to the beach, a 30-40-minute walk to some great tide pools and seal watching, and a 5-10-minute drive to groceries and restaurants. The hot tub was large enough for 8, and the parking accommodated 3 vehicles, which was perfect for our needs. The kitchen was nicely stocked and had a good layout for meal preparation. (NOTE-- if a sharp knife for food prep is important to you, bring your own, and a cutting board, as you may not find the ones supplied satisfactory. I think that's the only negative thing I could say about the home) :)
I have rented this home many times when it was under different management. This time it has been greatly improved. Painted, decorated, excellent wireless internet. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I will be back.
Plenty of room for 9 of us! Already booked again.
The house was well appointed, spacious and just what we needed for a friends weekend trip. We used the grill for dinners, enjoyed the hot tub while stargazing, and journeyed out to the beach on the trail behind the house. Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay! I hope one day we get the chance to come back and do it again.
Pelican Bluff is wonderfully positioned at the end of a cul de sac, with Sea Ranch hiking path right below and the Pacific Ocean your back yard!
Very comfortable accommodations for large family
or 3-4 couples. Easy access to services in Gualala.
House could use just a bit of touch up around the edges otherwise perfect!
We had a great time!!!
Sets up great for 8 adults
Great views, close to bluff trail, beautiful home, tastefully decorated, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen. Love Sea Ranch!
We loved the views, access to the beach, and the amazing seaside walks. Would highly recommend. Would have loved if kitchen held items for food storage. Also, a fuse blew and couldn’t locate the box and didn’t have an answer from manager.
A lovely house and a great location, beautiful views from every room. Close to Gualala.
Pelican Bluff enjoys one of the best locations at Sea Ranch, with ocean bluff views in two directions, and just two homes away from the Gualala Point State Park.
We've been to Sea Ranch a bunch of times and really liked our first-time stay at this house. The living room and kitchen have a spectacular panoramic view of the rocky coastline and crashing waves and you can hear the ocean from the house. It is attractively furnished and in excellent condition, and we found the kitchen well equipped for cooking. This is about as close in Sea Ranch as you can get to Gualala with the Surf Market, Trink's, and Upper Crust. We had a great stay and look forward to next time.
The location could not have been better and the view was incredible! We enjoyed every minute of the weekend.
I saw some mixed reviews when booking this place, so my expectations were not that high. I was thrilled to find that it was clean, big, and with just incredible views that would be tough to match anywhere in Sea Ranch. We've been to SR 5 times, and stayed in 5 different places. In our group (4 adults, 4 kids), the consensus was this was the top place (for some it was second). Sure, could use some updates, but I was so thrilled with the condition of the place after reading some very harsh reviews. Very easy access to Gualala, golf course, and the SR beach at the end between SR and Gualala. I'd go back tomorrow and stay there without hesitation.
We stayed for 2 night at this beautiful house. Location is just amazing! We enjoyed sunsets and ocean just from our deck. House was very clean, with everything you need: clean towels, toilet paper, shampoo , kitchen supplies, etc ... We would definitely come back :)
This home was the perfect size and layout to accommodate our family. We loved the location for enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean, as well as exploring the trails. The decks were great for sunset drinks and star gazing at night. Overall, it was a great place to stay for our Thanksgiving holiday in Sea Ranch.
Nice home. Perfect location. Love sea Ranch. Kitchen very well stocked. Furnishings could use some updating. Mattresses were not the most comfortable. Very annoyed there were not bath towels as well as towels to be used for after being in the hot tub. Overall our stay was good but for the price I would like to see some upgrades.
Had an amazing location! The views were spectacular! The house was perfect for our 9 person gathering! My only complaint would be the dining room table was too small for nine! Great base operation for going north to Mendocino or south to Ft Ross vineyard! A beautiful property!
Pelican Bluff location is excellent. The kitchen amenities are not as updated as some homes here at sea ranch. The family room sofa and chair are a bit worn. The TV in the family room was small. Otherwise nice stay
What a wonderful property. Perfect for a large family gathering or even 3/4 couples looking to retreat to the Sonoma coast. A wonderful stay.
The house appears on the Internet to be new and well-kept. Unfortunately when you arrive it's not in that condition. Yes it is a nice house and the view is outstanding, but for those of us who frequently stay along the coast, this house was a letdown.
The two main reasons I cannot recommend this home, is that most of the windows have a frosted appearance to them from the gas leaking out of the double pane window. You don't have a clear unobstructed view of the coast line or other areas. Second complaint would be the lack of screens. Opening doors and windows is the only way to get a breeze in the house and when you do that, the house becomes full of flies. Thank goodness for the flyswatter, because we used it continuously. The house appears to not have been kept up well and furniture replaced when needed. The Internet worked very well and I'm glad it did, because the cable TV in the house was very fuzzy and we ended up using her tablet to watch the news etc. The house could be a wonderful place, if they did some upgrades.
The house is ideally located with a great view of the ocean. You are not at all aware of the neighboring houses. We found the house perfect for a family reunion .
Loved this house... We will be coming back
Location couldn't be beat. Views were other wordly and from all perspectives in the house. Overall, the house was all about comfort, simplicity and location, location, location.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house had all the amenities we needed and the location is really wonderful -- you have views of ocean from pretty much all rooms.
The house is situated right by the trail and we loved going for walks early morning or late in the evening to catch sunset views. We highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again.
We stayed here with 8 people. There was more than ample space for everyone. Beautiful home. Bring beach towels.
Great for families- lofts are terrific for children
In-law unit is a plus
Views are spectacular
Architecture is super
Wonderful location with great views and pounding surf!
Overall a lovely home that has one of the best locations and views in Sea Ranch. The home is nice (though showing its age in some areas) and well appointed, but has a bit of a sterile feel to it that isn't helped by how the cleaning service preps the house for rental (e.g. 1 bath towel per bed with no towels etc already staged in the bathrooms. 1 motel-like bar of soap per bathroom, with no soap dishes etc). The layout is slightly strange with the living area and kitchen on the second floor (obviously to maximize the waterfront views) with all of the bedrooms on the bottom floor, so it feels a bit "separated". Wrapped aluminum foil under coil burners on the range top reminds me of a childhood home, or cheap motel in the redwoods, not a premium vacation rental On the California Coast. Lack of kitchen towels, BBQ grill brushes, mismatched light bulbs in vanities etc... make you feel like this is a straight up "income" rental, and not a place that people make memories at. That coupled with the "For Sale" sign and the booties inside the front door get you wondering if there will be a realtor stopping by in the middle of your stay to show the house.
There are beautiful homes with an amazing amount of heart at Sea Ranch, and I wish I could say this was one of them. It has everything except that one truly important one... This is a house with an amazing view, but little heart...
Wow, what a spectacular house! We have been coming to Sea Ranch for many years. This was our first visit to this house. And what a view!!! From so many spots in the house, especially the kitchen. Love this location and this house.
Four wonderful years experiencing this home and Sea Ranch! Eight visits to one of our favorite places on earth. You cant beat the pounding surf, seals, birds, flora, and fauna! Clear skies or stormy skies, its always a revival of heart, mind, body, and soul! Reading in the sun, great food prepared in the well-stocked kitchen. Fabulous friends to share and care with. Golf on the links, trips to Mendocino, Gualala, and the Point Arena Lighthouse. Trails from the Lodge to the Gualala Shore- A slice of heaven on earth. Thank you for sharing these life long memories for us by sharing your beautiful ocean view home. We look forward to decades more.
Had the most wonderful time. These are the most amazing waves that I have ever seen! Love the atmosphere here! Next time we come back to California, we hope to visit Sea Ranch again.
