Our peaceful vacation was spent at Holly Hollow. We had a great time relaxing with the mountain view, fishing in nearby river and streams, and spending time in nearby Blue Ridge. The cabin had everything we needed. The food and other needed items we purchased at Ingles' grocery and Walmart. There is a binder of maps and information about nearby activities in the cabin. We didn't get to use the hot tub but the master bath has a whirlpool bath...ooh! We had no problems with the wifi or the three TV's in the cabin. Sitting on the porch rocking chairs, viewing mountains, and listening to singing birds made this cabin a place I'd like to visit often. Everything was just perfect! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us.
Our family decided to take somewhat of a last minute vacation during the New Year’s holiday and having heard so much about the mountains of Georgia for a quick, non-skiing getaway, we made the decision to drive the 750 or so miles from Miami and we are so glad we did. After researching many cabin rental companies, we chose Sundance and the very helpful, knowledgeable and professional staff suggested we rent “Holly Hollow”, just outside of the town of Blue Ridge in Cherry Log, Georgia. Upon arriving to the area, we quickly saw that it was something very special. Even though we are accustomed to the mountain towns of Utah and Colorado, not to mention the Alps in Europe, we were very pleasantly surprised with the entire region and especially, the charming little 2 bedroom plus loft, 2 bathroom Holly Hollow Cabin. The house is very comfortable, quaint, tastefully decorated and appointed with everything needed to simply walk in the door and relax for a week. There is a real wood burning fireplace, Jacuzzi (both necessities for us when renting), a fully stocked kitchen and large outdoor patio where the Jacuzzi, barbeque grill and rocker chairs overlook the gorgeous hills that surround the area. And as far as peace and quiet is concerned, the cabin is perfectly located up in hills where the neighboring houses are fortunately, not at all on top of each other making you really feel as if you are way out in the woods, even though the town is only a short 10 minute drive. In fact, the house is so perfectly located, that each morning I chose to wake up a little early, have my first coffee of the day on the patio and then take a short drive to the local Starbucks inside the fantastic Ingles supermarket where we could replenish supplies as needed. The Ingles supermarket by the way, had fantastic steaks which we grilled the first night in the crisp 15 degree weather, but the food turned out so great, it made for a very special and memorable New Year’s Eve dinner with the family in front of the warm fireplace! Just a short distance from the supermarket is the main town of Blue Ridge, which has been called the “Switzerland of the South” and while I am not so sure I would make that comparison, it was really a charming, authentic southern town in the hills with great shops, restaurants and attractions. Although I was a little worried we would be too bored while here, we found that the house and the area have the perfect balance. If you want to be away from a large city while still being somewhat close to Atlanta (90 minutes away), the Blue Ridge/Cherry Log area is absolutely perfect and there is no doubt that the cabin will provide for a perfectly comfortable short or even months long or more vacation. Two important points to make are first, with regard to finding the house, I would NOT rely on the car’s GPS, which we were warned of as many of the roads and addresses are not yet marked with even the most recently updated GPS systems. That being said, while we did use the manual directions provided by the Sundance staff, I also used the “WAZE” application on my phone and that worked perfectly with one small exception. Whereas we were correctly told to make a right turn on Higdon Road by the property manager, WAZE identifies that specific road as “Maggie Chapman Way”, but we noticed the street sign said Higdon, followed that and made the few final turns to the house. Either way though and even if we just relied entirely on WAZE, it would have taken us right to the front door from anywhere in the U.S. without a single missed or incorrect step. The second very important point I want to make is that even if you have a 4 wheel drive car like we do, if there is any ice on the road, this is very likely not a cabin to rent as the roads are very steep and narrow with zero room for a mistake or slide. I have even heard of stories of people being stranded up in this area during storms and having seen and driven the area firsthand, I can absolutely understand how that would happen or how an accident could easily occur. Nevertheless, on dry roads, there are no issues whatsoever and the hilly, steep nature of the narrow roads even adds to the charm of it all. Finally, I wanted to say a special “Thank you” to Tom and Barbara from Sundance Management. I am sure I asked a lot of questions, maybe even to the point of being annoying, but they were overly patient with me and it was very much appreciated. They are true professionals in every regard and if you happen to own a cabin in this area and need a management company, as a customer who rented from them, I can easily say that they are up to the task and then some and added to the overall superb experience of the entire vacation. So, thank you, Tom, Barbara, the local municipality, God, nature and WAZE for making for a wonderful week’s getaway from the South Florida heat in to the gorgeous mountains of Georgia and the Blue Ridge/Cherry Log region!
The cabin itself was good and we have no complaints about our stay. The only issue for us was the steep stairs to the loft. We were not able to use the loft for sleeping because of this. Access to Holly Hollow was slightly difficult to traverse. The sharp corner to turn into the driveway caused some issues when we first arrived, especially as it was dark outside. Very nice cabin and we liked the easy manner in which we were able to rent it. Thank you!

This is I believe our 4th/5th time staying here and it never disappoints, great as always, well kept, great view of the mountains, etc. We'll be back again!
Overall - we had a great experience. The cabin was clean and cozy. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. We made use of the hot tub, gas grill, and well-stocked kitchen! I have just a couple notes for the owner of things we noticed: The light in the hot tub was not working, the checkout code for the door did not lock it, which was a little odd, and though the kitchen was generally well stocked, there was no pizza wheel. Again, a great experience. We would absolutely recommend and consider coming back again. Thanks!
Everything was good except no broom to sweep the floor with.
We loved our stay at Holly Hollow. The cabin was cute and clean, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the master bath was very relaxing. My family of five stayed there comfortably. We loved using the hot tub both first thing in the morning to wake up our muscles and at the end of a day's worth of activities (we took our kids tubing down the Toccoa, swimming in Blue Ridge Lake, and a bit of hiking - all wonderful). The cabin had neighbors, but due to the trees and the setting you'd never know. It's quite private and feels like it's set in the treetops. Even the hot tub has a lovely canopy of trees. The cabin has a nice television and fast wifi, but we spent most of our time enjoying the view from the porch. The weather was very nice, low 70's in July. This was an excellent vacation - great area, great cabin - and we are sure to return.
It was beautiful! Really nice review and close to everything. I loved the hummingbird feeder on the front porch. My family and I will be back.
My family of 4 recently stayed at this cabin. It was very clean when we arrived and well stocked with towels and kitchen items. We loved the hot tub and rocking chairs on the deck. Beautiful view. The grill was clean and had plenty of propane. The wifi was excellent, we streamed Netflix with no problems. Very close to Blue Ridge, lots of stuff to do in the area. We would definetely stay here again.
