Quiet Cottage with Free WiFi and Cable - Short Walk to Spencer Spit State Park

A getaway to this cozy and rustic Lopez Island vacation rental is sure to be relaxing and peaceful. Up to four guests can comfortably sleep here and all will thoroughly enjoy the fact that you're just a quarter-mile to Spencer Spit State Park (about a four-minute walk). You'll also have a peek-a-boo view of Swift's Bay.

Surrounded by lush green forest with only the deer as your nearest neighbors, this lovely cottage is only about four miles from the ferry landing and is perfect for the quiet outdoor enthusiast. Hike to the waterfront in Spencer Spit State Park to take in the amazing views or toss your kayak or canoe in for an unforgettable paddle around part of spectacular Lopez Island. Just three miles away is Lopez Village where you can have a tasty meal, browse through art galleries, or even just grab that forgotten item at the store. You'll also be within a short walk to a private beach and while at the property, in the midst of old-growth forest and a sunny meadow.

Meadowwood Cottage has a beautiful charm with its rustic wood-paneled walls, tall cathedral ceilings, and tasteful furnishings and decor. Enormous windows bring in gorgeous natural light that give an open airiness to this home.

Upon entering, you'll find a lovely and well-stocked kitchen which opens right into the living room. From the major appliances to the microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and more, you'll easily have everything you need here. Create delicious culinary masterpieces for a sit-down meal at one of four ebony barstools or grab a quick breakfast of toast and coffee before running out the door for more fun-filled adventures.

Before heading off to bed in one of the two bedrooms, sink into the comfortable love seat to watch a movie on the flatscreen TV (satellite service, VCR and tapes provided) or find a good book or board game from this home's collection. The wood-burning stove will definitely be well-used during the cooler, rainy months up in the Pacific Northwest, plus you'll also have electric heat.

Down the hall is a bedroom with two twin beds, which can also be connected to create one queen-size bed if needed. The gorgeous hand-painted bird picture and the nightstand full of books make this room feel warm and welcoming.

There is a full bathroom around the corner from the bedroom that has a tub/shower combo and a large mirror. The second bathroom has a shower and is upstairs, attached to the lovely loft which has a queen-size bed, gorgeous wood chair, and wood flooring. Up to four guests can comfortably stay here.

The spacious deck, just through the sliding glass door in the living room, is perfect for when the sun peeks through the clouds and the birds begin the sing. You can grill up juicy steaks on the barbecue while sipping a glass of wine at the table and chairs. Outside you'll also spy wildlife galore - including owls, deer, rabbits, and birds.

Lopez Island, the first ferry stop from Anacortes, is a laid back and adventure-filled all at the same time. Along with Lopez Village being just a short distance from this retreat, Fisherman Bay is just a little further south and offers incredible fishing, a marina, bike, and kayak rentals, and more. Grab dinner at Bay Cafe in Lopez Village and don't forget dessert at Just Heavenly Fudge Factory or Holly B's Bakery. Spend your time at Spencer Spit State Park, just to the west or stay home and play a game of Badminton.

Whether you're staying put at this serene San Juan Islands vacation rental or heading out to explore nature at its finest, you'll find this is the perfect home base for you and your loved ones during your next Washington getaway.

The location couldn’t have been more ideal. Access to the beach and so close to Spencer spit state park was ideal. The cottage has an intensely warm feeling with beautiful views. The windows make the lovely big yard seem endless while still absolutely private.

The cabin is at a great location on Lopez Island. Far away enough to feel isolated, but a 10 minute drive from the supermarket.
Cabin is a bit dated, and could benefit from a few basic upgrades. Hot, running water worked fantastically.

Location was amazing!

Great, quiet place to stay. We enjoyed the close proximity to Spencer’s Spit.

The cottage was very comfortable and the location was great. We walked to Spencer Spit State Park several times, the proximity was a real plus. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the location was quite private, both of which we appreciated.

The directions could have been a bit more accurate, but it's not a big island :). After booking it in August, we were informed by Vacasa less than a week before arriving that we would have to leave a day earlier due to Covid restrictions -- totally understandable, but it would have been easier to plan if we had known that up front.

We had a wonderful time at the cottage, amidst Covid-19 craziness. Even more so we liked how secluded it is. We enjoyed walks to Spencer Spit, down to the private beach (although super windy that weekend), and had cozy evenings by the fireplace. The kitchen had everything we needed, except real wine glasses ;-) That could be a nice addition for the future.
Thanks for letting us stay in your cottage, we can highly recommend it!

The place was charming and secluded. All amenities were there. I would recommend it 100%!

Calm quiet relaxing place to stay.

The cottage was well designed for city folk's comfort. Liked the kitchen and the floor to ceiling for viewing our visiting deer and the water through the trees. Short drive to the village for shopping and good espresso and dinners.

We loved staying here, the cottage is down a quiet dirt lane, very little noise during the day and none at night. Bedding was good, lots of towels, kitchen amply supplied. One nice surprise, it is right next to Spencer State Park where we beach combed, hiked the camp trails and enjoyed bird watching. I gave it a 4 for view as it is wooded, no water view.

The cottage is lovely, and the location is beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. The living room is cozy and has a stunning view. Breakfast on the deck is a must. Bedrooms are very nice, two twin beds downstairs and a double bed upstairs. There are some books and board games. The TV has cable and a DVD/VHS player. The only problem we had was with the wifi connection. Phones and laptops connected fine to the network, but we only had an actual internet connection for a few minutes, then it would stop working for a while and start back up randomly. We called for assistance and were told to unplug it for thirty seconds and then plug it back in, but that didn't fix the problem. It was still great to disconnect, though! Overall a fantastic vacation spot!

Clean, quiet and homey cabin on my favorite Island. Close to many great beaches and Lopez Town.

What a great location and beautiful spot

The stay at Vacasa went very smoothly and the home is well cared for. Although not located on the water there is a very nice beach to explore only a 5 minute walk away. Located relatively close to the ferry and having Spencer Spit just around the corner added ease and fun to our visit. The house had all the amenities we could want, was clean, and we had a good stay!

Looking for a place to get away from everything. This has the beautiful setting and home you're looking for. The island is known as Slowpez because it is about as quite and serene of an island as you can find. Local tradition on the island is that you always wave to everyone as you drive by them. All kinds of small farms to get produce and meat from. If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the island for you.

We were the first of the season, they couldn't get the WiFi to work, there were ants and the BBQ was filthy, moldy and rusty. The wire brush was worn out ant took forever to scrape and clean the BBQ for use. Close to the park, the cabin was clean except for the ants.
Manager response:
The WiFi is fixed, the ants have been taken care of, the BBQ has been cleaned, and a new BBQ utensil set has been purchased for guest use. We apologize these issues were not taken care of prior to this guest's arrival.

Meadowbrook cabin is a summer tradition now. SO peaceful and cozy. There is a trail to a beautiful beach right in front of the cabin and a trail to Spencer Spit State Park. I like that there is limited wifi-it makes the days longer and more enjoyable. We love cooking in the kitchen and eating meals on the deck. There is a badminton net in the backyard. This cabin is biking distance from the little village (Don't miss Holly's Bakery Gruyere croissants!). You will never want to leave this adorable cabin and island.

This was a very quiet, great place to stay. You can view the water through the trees

Great location. Family friendly and very quiet.

Meadowwood Cottage is clean, quiet and close to Spencer Spit and the ferry (5 mi). The beds are comfy, the kitchen is serviceable and it's really quiet! Lots of birds. No water view and not a lot of sunlight, you have to walk to find those. Some kitchen items need serious updating, and to add a spatula or two. A nice quiet get-away.

If you're looking for a remote cottage to rest and relax, this is a nice choice. We were there in late April 2016 and the WiFi was not operating.

Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely get away for our honeymoon, but when we were relaxing and tried to use our laptop or phones on wifi the router died, we tried an Ethernet cable for direct lining and Internet would still die after a few minutes of usage. Besides wifi and Internet problems I recommend this little get away and would stay again. It was truly a friendly place.

This is an incredibly private location and even though there are houses close by with the looming trees you get so much cover it feels very private.

The house was very inviting and comfortable, even during our one night of inclement weather. This is a great place to experience nature, talk without distractions and just experience life away from the urban center.

We knew that we would be in a slow paced environment and it was so pleasing to just slow down and go at a leisurely pace. The island and it's residents do live up to the name of being the Friendly Isle.

This cottage on Lopez Island was great for a friends getaway. We were busy with activities during the day, but the place was comfy and we loved the hike to the hidden beach. Can't wait to visit again.
