Amazing spot for a great, peaceful get away! The cabin is secluded and quiet and has everything you need. The view is amazing! Perfect spot to recharge!

A beautiful little cabin. Woke up with sun coming thru the windows, on the whole front of the house. Views of the East Sound from the deck.

Really enjoyed the rustic cabin vibe and the beautiful views. A short drive from the downtown area. Had a great time exploring the tide pools and putting my feet in the water at the private beach. The sulfur water was great for showering but we brought our own water for drinking. All around great stay. Will book this again.

We had a perfect peaceful weekend away here. It's rustic but we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Sulfur in the water felt nice for my skin and hair. We brought separate drinking water. We hope to return next year.

I will say it is so terrible because I want it all to myself.

The view was outstanding and when the moon rises in the horizon it is very inspiring

Loved this private and peaceful cabin! The view was wonderful, the tide pools were great for exploring, and the cabin had everything we needed for a few nights stay. Central location to the ferry and restaurants/ activities near East Sound. We brought our own drinking water out of personal choice but really it would have been fine. Definitely would stay again.

I love the rustic charm and can tolerate minimal amenities but the mattress sucks! You can feel the springs (since they don’t make beds with springs any longer, that’s a clue how old it is). Spring for a memory foam.
They’re only a few hundred dollars and your guests will give 5 star ratings
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Jessica. We hope you enjoyed your stay overall. We are sorry the mattress didn't suit your preference and we appreciate your suggestions for improvement. We hope we can host you for a great stay in the future.

Loved the quaint and peacefulness of the cabin. Very cute, nice & comfortable. Enjoyed exploring around. Will definitely want to come back

I’ll keep it simple

Cobwebs all over the house. We knew going in it was rustic and we live rustic so it’s not a problem. However, I do have a problem with cobwebs being in most of the corners and in the bathroom when it takes a couple minutes to get rid of with a broom.

Door lock: its a really sticky lock and I felt like if I turned the handle too much it was going to break.

Bungee cords: in the fridge to use for door shelving. The fridge itself was old but kept food frozen and cold but the bungee cords were tacky.

The stairs to the deck were a little rickity and the contractor hubby was all over noting that lol.

The view was fantastic and you could easily bring your SUP or kayak.

Directions on how to get there were spot on.

Bed was comfy for firm and extra blankets were handy if we needed them.

Full kitchen of supplies as needed and a charcoal grill available.

My suggestions: bring your own chairs as we couldn’t find any and didn’t feel comfortable
Manager response:

The cabin had everything we were looking for, great water views and relaxing atmosphere. The cabin was simple but met all our needs. The wood stove made the cool nights cozy and warmed the entire cabin but there is electric heat in the dining area and bedroom too. Kitchen was stocked with basic supplies, coffee pot, microwave, fridge and stove. There was a slight sulfur smell in the water but it really wasn’t that bad. You can bring your own drinking water if you choose. There is a path and stairs to a rocky beach to your right and a path to the left to a small grassy area for viewing. It’s beautiful. Cabin is about 5 minutes from town and is easy to find. Overall, we really liked our stay and will plan to come again!

We loved our time in this quiet, peaceful space. We especially enjoyed the lovely views of Eastsound from the deck and the lookout, tidepooling on the beach at low tide, and how ultra quiet and private the space was. The cabin was not fancy but it was perfectly comfortable for our small family of 3. We didn’t have any issue with the sulfur in the water and found it enjoyable for showering as it has a nice slippery feel. We brought our own drinking water which worked fine for us.

This a great little gem of a house! Love the location. Beautiful scenery and so peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

The place was remote and quiet with amazing views. We had all that we needed. It was nice to have a full kitchen and they even left us a turkey pan!! Much needed. The show was ok, but they bed could definitely be replaced. I need a good night sleep and the mattress was just ok. We were lucky to have pretty good weather and again, I can't say enough about the views. I would definitely stay here again, with mattress replaced.
Thanks for a good time.
Manager response:

The home is older, but we love the location!
It’s very quiet neighborhood and on the shore.

Everything we wanted in a relaxing island getaway! The wood stove adds made it extra fun and cozy!

We had a wonderful time at this location, the property is pretty much what the pictures show so there should be no real surprises there.
The cabin has a loft that is not accessible to guests so if you get there and wonder why they don't mention it, that's why.
The view from the cabin is beautiful and the short walk to the beach is a dream, just make sure to stay within the property lines.
The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because we were really excited to use the fireplace but there was no grate inside or information regarding which way is "open" on the vent so it was a long process of trying to start a fire only to have it go out as soon as we closed the door.
It wasn't a huge deal, we were just excited to snuggle by a fire.
And in case you haven't seen it mentioned in other reviews, yes, the water has sulfur but it's really not that bad if you know what you're getting in to and plan ahead (we just bought water to drink from the local grocery store).
We definitely would come back though, the view alone is worth it.

The cabin is cozy with a nice water view through the trees. However, the water from the faucets has a high sulfur content. The old Romans might have liked the smoothing effect on their skin but the smell and taste are disgusting. That spoils everything. Beware! Also, ocean access difficult and no kayaking or canoeing or walking on shore. Disappointing!
Manager response:
Hi, Jens! We are sorry to see you experienced some disappointments. The beach access is on the right side of the property, and the left side is more for viewing enjoyment. We will contact the owner about solutions for the sulfur smell. Thanks!

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here. The cabin is best described as "rustic", which is great for a relaxing vacation. The cabin is waterfront, with a rocky beach and a low-bank bluff, which is perfect for a picnic lunch.
Sidney G. Sep 2018
We loved the house, view and basic comfort. However, we wish we had been told the water smelled of sulfur and even though it was drinkable we still bought 3 gallon bottles of spring water. It would have been nice if they had furnished at least one. Also, even though it was in the contract it would have been nice to have more toilet paper and a box of kleenex. The mattress is getting old and saggy. We were charged $12. for not taking the trash to the dump which we though unreasonable even though we put it in the barrel outside. Otherwise,we enjoyed our stay.
William C. Aug 2018
I loved the cabin and the area, there is plenty of sights to see and activities to do. Plenty of places to eat that are very good. Good local beers, Hiking, kyakking, fishing, boating etc.
Lacey S. Aug 2018
Everything looks as described. The house is on a very quiet lot and the private beach is nice for a fire. Eastsound was only a 10 minute drive. Would recommend for a simple quiet stay and would stay there again.
Stefanie K. Aug 2018
The house was perfect for two. Very clean, comfortable, lovely view. We saw deer each time we drove up. The view from the deck was beautiful, as was the rocky beach below the house. My only complaint is that that house smelled of cleaning fluid, which took a long time to air out, and do bring your own water if you don't like the taste of sulphur. We would definitely rent this again.

Loved the simple cabin layout and size. The setting for our quiet recharge vacation
