Watching the deer every morning on back porch

Kim G. May 2022
Very cozy one room cottage! Could have been a little cleaner inside and definitely patio needs TLC! Beautiful view on patio and got to see a small herd of deer in the evening. Would have preferred to not encounter a baby scorpion around midnight though. I guess that was a taste of true country living, lol!
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Kim, we hope you were able to enjoy your stay. Thank you for sharing your feedback and bringing some items to our attention that may need some TLC. We have forwarded your feedback to the local staff so they can work to improve the house for future guests. Please know that our guest services team is available 24 hours a day to assist should any concerns arise during your visit. We hope you choose to stay with us again.

Cute little house. Served it's purpose. Super quiet.
Tislow L. May 2022
we loved our 2-day stays at the cottage. The house is in a great location. The beds are very comfortable. We highly recommended Triple Creek Cottage and we likely stay there again when we return to Fredericksburg.
Gaye S. Apr 2022
The cottage was very welcoming, nice, neat, and clean. The location is far enough from town to be quiet but close enough to be convenient. Being able to watch deer and wild turkey was a treat.
Kendra A. Apr 2022
It’s a cute little 1 bed and 1 bath cottage. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay away from home for a couple days. There’s no oven or range in the unit but we found a little portable grill under the sink. This is important info as we found out the hard way that the nearby restaurants book up completely with 3hr waits every weekend. So, make reservations well ahead of time or come prepared.

We were shocked to see the size of this home. The pictures do not even come close to what it actually looks like. It was the size of a basic master bedroom. It's only 1 room. It states it sleeps 4 people but the pull out sofa was so uncomfortable we ended up sleeping on the floor. The sofa bed was also broke and it slanted where you head was laying lower than your feet. It was a hazard and could have hurt someone. We also found bugs in the bathtub. I know this can happen but perhaps they haven't been in there to clean it for a while. The plug in the kitchen was right over the kitchen sink. No GFI either. Someone can easily get electrocuted using it. Coffee for 4 people over 2 days, we were supplied with 4-kay cups. No creamer to use. No hot plate or stove - i guess that understandable, but it would have been nice to cook some breakfast. The TV was the size of a computer screen. The price was intriguing to me at $148 a night, but the rental company charges an extra $100 a night to manage it for the renter - which we, the customer, have to pay. So $148 a night turned into $250 a night. For this price, this place should have all the accommodations.
Manager response:
Hi, Jennifer! Maintenance is looking to repair the sofa bed, and the home is scheduled to be sprayed by professional pest control. More K-cups have been purchased. Thank you!

We booked at the last minute for the weekend of the Xmas parade, so we didn't expect much...but were SO pleasantly surprised! My daughter and I have been going for our Christmas trip the last 20 years or so. We both agreed that this quiet place was as nice as any we had stayed in for the price range we've always wanted. My daughter said to be sure to include in the review that if you have a car, this place is really close to town! (Note: the gate "remote eye" is fairly close to the house, so if it doesn't open when leaving, just back straight up a little! I don't know why that's been included in so many reviews.)
Scott W. Oct 2021
Not too far from town, very quite place. Very comfortable bed and patio was nice to sit and watch the deer. Would recommend and return.
KellyJo S. Oct 2021
Set out in the country, this is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We enjoyed spending time out on the back patio watching fireflies and deer and squirrels. If you're a nature lover, this is the place to stay. The cottage was very nice as well, perfect for two people.
Kim C. Aug 2021
Very private and peaceful.
Paulette A. Jun 2021
This was a very comfortable and peaceful home.
Christopher G. Dec 2020
The cottage is cozy, comfortable, and perfect for a short trip to Fredricksburg for San Antonio folks. One of the highlights was walking out the back patio to see deer grazing in the wooded area behind the cottage. You could make a day out of reading a book outside in the hammock and soaking up the sun. We had a great experience!
Cynthia J. Nov 2020
We enjoyed staying at this cottage out in the country. It was so fun to watch the deer and sit outside by the firepit. The place has everything you need for a comfortable stay!
April C. Aug 2020
We loved the comfortable king sized bed. We loved the outdoor sitting area hanging out with the deer. We loved the privacy gate. We loved the privacy. Wonderful experience, we will be back.
Paul S. Jun 2020
A problem without side light flicking on and off but we enjoyed. Perfect price point
Cynthia F. Jun 2020
This is a cozy little guesthouse on a gated property. The owners in the main house are friendly. You can light a fire in the fire pit and enjoy the sunset while fire flies and deer move freely in the field behind the property.
Vicki R. Jun 2020
This property is so worth staying at. There was an issue with the TV. Several attempts to contact VACASA were unsuccessful the property owner came over and spent over an hour ( late Saturday evening) diligently addressed the matter with success. The property is very comfortable and so peaceful. We will definitely return.
Manny C. May 2020
The bed was soft
Lindsey M L. Jan 2020
We stayed one night, perfect for a weekend get away, close enough to the main strip. Ideal for a couple. Woke up to deer in the back yard. Such a quaint little cabin, thank you for our stay!
MARY BETH L. Dec 2019
Very comfortable bed! Spacious living area. Cozy, clean, quiet! However, it was advertised they have TV but the only TV available was Dish movies that you would have to pay for. No regular TV. I would have rather stayed in a hotel with TV for the price we paid $200 plus dollars. Also, no creamer for the coffee, and no tea to make hot tea and very little sugar. Also, the bathroom is very small, especially the laboratory has no space to do your hair and makeup. If the price was less, I would have been satisfied. We wont stay there again for $200 plus dollars.
Manager response:
We are sorry to read you were not fully satisfied with your stay, Mary Beth. We apologize for any TV issues you experienced while staying here. We do offer cable TV at this home, and it was working perfectly when we inspected it after receiving your review. We do wish you had called for assistance with this during your time in the home. We do not provide any perishable food items and apologize for the disappointment this caused.
Míriam S. Dec 2019
The cabin has the perfect space and everything is clean, the only thing missing was a stove to cook, so we did in the fire place. From the backyard you could see deer in the distance, so the view was amazing, in the middle of the nature! Perfect weekend
Lindsay W. Nov 2019
Perfect for a quick weekend in Fredericksburg!!!
Lana C. Oct 2019
This is such a cool place. Well maintained, comfortable bed, living, great deck, small kitchen area, firepit, deer, relaxing view, coffee, dishes, glasses, silverware and other utensils, gated and safe area.
Sandra C. Oct 2019
Very nice and very clean will come back again and stay longer.
Suzanne S. Sep 2019
I'd recommend this cottage. It's close to town, clean, and quiet.
Tom G. Jun 2019
The cabin was not far from downtown. It is situated in the yard next to the main house and like a mother-in-law home. It was only one room, yet spacious. Furnishings were modern and comfortable. Back patio with fire pit was inviting. Peaceful, quiet country setting with deer, squirrels, birds and butterflies complimenting the "country" feel.
Reba C. May 2019
Loved this quaint lil cottage in the Hill Country. It was clean, quiet and beautiful scenery.
Rob J. Apr 2019
The back patio allows great wildlife viewing.
Would suggest having more than just two plastic glasses.
Sense we'd stayed there before, we knew the gate only opens when leaving by the left lane. New people need to be notified.
Patrick B. Feb 2019
My wife and I enjoyed the cute cottage, it was comfortable and close to town of Fredericksburg. We also love the 291 shuttle and will be back again!
Ryan L. Feb 2019
Didn't realize this is basically an out building located right next to the owners house. However, it was very clean and tidy and comfortable.
Linda R. Jul 2018
It was quite and clean nice little place ...
Nicole B. Jul 2018
The house was nice and quiet. Great watching deer in the mornings. Gate opened going in, but not out. Someone had to squeeze through to get to other side to push in keypad numbers. Bathroom was too hot. No air in there. Had kitchen things, but needed a sharper knife to cut food. Sofa bed was loud/squeaky and flat.
When we tried to leave 1st time to go grocery shop and gate didn’t open, I called the number given and had to leave a message. Nobody ever returned my call. Glad we figured out how to get out.
Was a nice place outside of town. We would return, but w a few things from home to help the trip be more comfortable.
Manager response:
We apologize for issues this guest encountered, and we are very sorry nobody appeared to have returned this guest's phone call. The gate works just fine, and we have added some instructions to clarify how to use it. There is a hotel style wall mounted A/C to cool the unit located just outside the bathroom, and if guests leave the bathroom open when not in use, it does help cool it down. Thank you!
Brandon T. Jul 2018
Great location and very convenient to Main St of Fredricksburg. House was clean and well set up. Wife and I felt as if we were coming home. Only suggestion is have it cooled off for your renters arrival.
Ricardo V. Jul 2018
We had a great stay! The cottage is a quick drive from Main Street, but it's far enough away to let you enjoy quiet, peaceful evenings. We will definitely be back!
Debra H. May 2018
The surroundings were quiet and peaceful. The cottage was clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable.
Gordon Z. May 2018
We had a wonderful time in Fredericksburg. Triple Creek Cottage was clean, reasonable, and close to town. Also very quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.
Rob J. May 2018
We loved the birds, the deer, the turkey gobbles, the views of the meadow.
FEDERICO G H. Apr 2018
The cottage was so adorable. Perfect for a couple. Also had a sofa sleeper. Loved waking up and looking out thru the french doors and seeing deer everywhere. Max was a very nice man. Enjoyed talking with him. The scenery was just so surreal. This was truly a relaxing atmosphere. Only 4 miles from histric downtown. We loved everything about our trip.
Michael H. Feb 2018
When we arrived it was around 8:30pm. We passed the cabin up the first time because the number was on the opposite side of entrance. As we entered we really thought the cabin was very nice and clean. The only thing we were really surprised by was the fact that this cabin was not stocked well with drinks and snacks only having 1 bottle water, 2 orange juice, 1 pod of coffee, and some oatmeal with flaxseed. We were expecting to at least have more than 1 coffee and 1 bottle of water.
Mary J. Dec 2017
This guest house was very clean and perfect for my husband and I. Would highly recommend staying here!

Anne W. Dec 2017
This cottage was the perfect place for a weekend get away. It was perfectly clean and very quiet. WiFi is weak but you can deal with that when you’re getting away:)
Carlota R. Nov 2017
The property & the small town were both awesome. We had a great time & lots of fun memories
Linda S. Oct 2017
From the picture I was expecting a small house in the middle of nowhere; but found this to be a detached, converted garage in a lovely development, with less than a five minute drive into Fredericksburg. We enjoyed watching deer out the back window -- not more than 50' away. Very quiet and relaxing!
Carol L. Sep 2017
Will return to star again.
Rebecca C. Sep 2017
Great location close to the heart of Fredericksburg and loved the outdoor hammock/swings, grill and fire pit. It was a fun escape from a big city and a great place to go to relax.
Ryan B. Jul 2017
This place is beautiful at night and about a five minute ride to downtown. This is the perfect place if you want a country feel but closeness to the downtown scene.
Lisa C. Jul 2017
Liked the cottage. It was perfect t for the 3 of us who stayed. The location was great but we could not get internet service.
Paul S. Jun 2017
Our cottage was very clean and the distance from town made it a peaceful pleasant retreat.
We enjoyed it very much.
Catherine D. Feb 2017
If you are looking for a quaint little house in the country with close proximity to Fredericksburg and Enchanted Rock, as well as many other fine sightseeing of the Texas Hill Country you have found your spot for peaceful serenity and a great night's sleep.

Not too tricky to find even at night the location offers a peaceful setting on a small tract of land with about a 10 minute drive to town.

The interior features a super comfortable bed, sofa with pull out (which we did not use), microwave, small refrigerator, kitchen sink, coffee pod machine (hopefully better stocked than during our visit), clean updated bathroom, TV with Dish, dining table, and spacious interior big enough for three people.

Upon exiting the property the car needs to be on the left side of the lane. This was a little confusing upon our first exit since we did not have that instruction.

I believe this home is on a well and requires the gas to possibly take shorter showers to conserve water pressure as well as hot water.

Our only other comment would be that the home is very close to the owners or permanent residence. However we rarely saw them but I did not want my youngest son to disturb them. He is after all full of energy.

Overall we had a wonderful stay really didn't spend that much time in the cottage seeing as how we were in the country and had so much to do.
Andie A. Feb 2017
My family loved it!
David V. Jan 2017
Quaint, clean cottage in a quiet location very close everything you would want to do. Would definitely stay here again.
Guy M. Oct 2016
We really enjoyed our stay at the Triple Creek Cottage. The dear roam around on the property in the AM and dusk hours which is really cool to see from the windows. The space is big enough for a couple or a small family and very well kept. The linens and towels were clean and nice toiletries provided in the bathroom.

We were disappointed in a few things such as the lack of useable internet and consistantly working cable TV (we wanted to watch the UT/OU game and couldn't). Downtown Fredericksburg is just a short drive away as well. I would come back but with the expectation of being "unplugged".
Sam M. Sep 2016
There was a lot of rain midway into our visit, but made the best of the trip. This cabin is in a really good location because you are close to Fredericksburg but still feel like you're out in the country. It is nicely furnished and comfortable. You will feel just as safe as you do at home. You will definitely enjoy a visit to the hill country if you stay here!
Martin D. Sep 2016
What a great place to stay! It was nice, quite and peaceful. I highly recommend this place and we will be staying there again!
Carrie W. Aug 2016
A great little place to stay will enjoying the Texas Wine Country! The house was very clean and bed and sofa sleeper very comfortable. Location was close to Fredericksburg as well as the wineries.
Bill E. Jun 2016
A nice quiet place in the country. Saw deer just out the backdoor. Would stay there again.
Chad N. Apr 2016
Enchanted Rock was the best part of the trip, but be sure to get there early. The WWII Pacific war museum was also worthwhile.
As for for the unit, we purchased a griddle and left it there for future guests. The WiFi connection was the worst part of the stay, as a good connection was intermittent at best and only available in one corner of the unit. I would suggest the owners extend the range of the current WiFi or buy a separate internet line for the unit.

Overall though it was a very nice cottage.
LIZ R. Mar 2016
We were very satisfied with our stay. My kid wanted me to purchase the place lol so yes i had no complaints except for us not having internet access. It kept asking us for the password and on the listing it has unprotected. Except for that minor detail i would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing stay.
Kim Y. Mar 2016
No internet; no DVD player, no coffee pods, electric gate malfunctions. Even worse was a total lack of response from anyone about these issues, even after repeated phone calls.
Manager response:
We regret to see that your stay was not as smooth as we would have liked and that we were difficult to reach. The owners do not provide a DVD player in this home, but there is cable, and the Property Manager will check on the WiFi. We are currently hiring more agents for the phones so that we are easier to reach in situations like this, and we would love to have another chance to impress you with our services.
John L. Mar 2016
The Internet required a password and we were not given a password. Over all it was very relaxing
Anne T. Mar 2016
Triple Creek Cottage is just 3 miles outside of Fredericksburg in a quiet, semi-rural, and picturesque setting. The size of the cottage is perfect for a couple, though it will sleep 4 with the pull-out bed. The furnishings are comfortable and welcoming, and the king-sized bed is very comfortable. The neighbor's dogs are a bit noisy. I would definitely stay here again!
Megan S. Mar 2016
The location was beautiful! There are dogs close to the property so if you don't mind hearing them sometimes it isn't bad! The bed was very comfy and it was very clean!!! We would definitely return! Me n the husband just went for a birthday getaway but our kids would have loved the property as well!!! Also Vacasa was very nice and responsive during the daytime hrs :)
Tanya R. Mar 2016
Nice comfortable suite! The neighbors had dogs but they disturb us. A wonderful alternative to a hotel. Very peaceful and country setting! The bed is was the best!
