Great location, very slight road noise

We just returned from our vacation in this great home and I wish we could go back right now! It is perfect for a couples get-a-way. Big enough that you don't feel cramped but small enough that you feel like you are living the cabin life. Pros: -The house was very clean when we arrived. - All the basic amenities that someone would need to live comfortably for a few days. - Extra towels and blankets if needed - The bed was amazing! Sleep number with a big fluffy comforter - The hot tub was superb! - You have access to both a heating and a/c unit BUT you also have the option to use the wood stove. Let me tell you, the wood stove puts off some HEAT! - The creek right outside your door. If you like to fish, bring your pole, because there are lots of trout in there! Catch and release only. - The area is perfect, close to the highway but far enough away that you still feel secluded. Nestled right in the middle of a valley with amazing views all around. - Close enough to town and within driving distance of so many great hiking spots, lakes to fish, and beautiful towns. I recommend taking a drive to Pagosa Springs (stop at the scenic overlook on the highway!) and taking the Silver Thread Scenic Byway to Lake City. Beautiful views of the mountains and Lake San Cristobal with many stops along the way with amazing views, I recommend stopping at the North Clear Creek Falls. Cons: - Directions to the house could have been more clear. We were coming from the West and the directions were only clear if you were coming from the East. - The washing/drying machine is very loud, I recommend starting it when you leave for the day so it's done when you get back. - We had issue with the main TV in the living room, it basically stopped working on day 2 of the trip. It didn't bother us too much since we weren't watching that much TV plus you have the TV in the bedroom that worked fine Overall, I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to others!

We loved our stay in South Fork.... it was beautiful and quiet. Lots of fun hikes and beautiful scenery to look at. This house specifically had everything we needed. Our 4 year old felt right at home, he loved walking the river and paddle boating every morning!
