Recent South Fork vacation rental reviews

The cabin was perfect for our family of 10! We had plenty of room. The location and scenery were also great. We made a lot of great memories, and we would highly recommend staying at The Happy Place Cabin!

Beautiful cabin in a quiet neighborhood. Well equipped kitchen as well. Everything you need for a relaxing stay. Will be back again.

The cabin is clean and nice. It was nice to sit down by the river or in the hot tub. However, I have never been at a vacation rental that lacked so many basics. Maybe I've been spoiled in the past so I'm writing this review to warn anyone else that has had my experience, that you need to be a little more prepared than normal if you decide to stay here. There is a grill that doesn't light itself (need a lighter), a wood stove in the house and a fire pit between the house and the river, but no lighter or matches. So, plan on bringing something to start a fire if you want to use those amenities. There is no tupperware or any sort of way to store leftover food provided (ziploc bags, tin foil, plastic wrap, etc). So, the entire cucumber we cut up had to be eaten or it would dry out, and it was a big cucumber. There is a coffee maker and coffee filters, but no coffee (believe me, you don't want to be stuck with a coffee addict, the morning after getting in late, that has all the things to make coffee, except for the coffee). There was a little bit of salt and pepper, but no other spices or cooking staples (oil, baking soda or powder, etc). Additionally, there are no instructions on how to use any of the, what appears to be, cool tech in the house. For example, the bed is one of those kind that airs itself up but you just have to punch some buttons if it's too hard or too soft and hope you don't end up with a completely flat mattress in the middle of the night (like I did...airing the bed up in the middle of the night didn't help the no coffee situation the next morning). The surround sound...never figured that one out. The Roku tv is in guest mode, so every time you turn the tv off you have to reinput your login just to listen to some music or watch a movie. Overall nice place, just be prepared. It might not have all of the little convenience items you are used to in a vacation rental.
