Perfect little cottage, clean and close to everything.

“Tell us what you loved.” : The condo is pretty much the perfect place to reset the mind and the body. The view from the balcony and the Big bedroom is perfect. The living room couch, the queen bed, and the one bunk bed that we used were very comfy. The kitchen appliances are fine. Dishes and wine glasses are in high cabinets that this short lady could not reach, LOL. The garage was fine for our Subaru Crosstrek. We loved our time @ #4. We will go back.♥️

Today, this small seaside town of 9,000 residents swells to as many as 75,000 in the peak of summer, when visitors can enjoy a lovely sun-drenched beach, several nearby golf courses, New England's only beachfront amusement park, and a historic pier full of eateries, shops, games, concerts, and fireworks. And this epicenter of family fun is right outside your door when you stay at one of our charming Old Orchard Beach vacation rentals.

Where is Old Orchard Beach, ME?

Like many of Maine's most popular beaches, Old Orchard Beach is located in Southern Maine, just 17 miles south of Portland on the edge of Saco Bay. To the north are Cape Elizabeth and Prouts Neck, the peninsula once home to Winslow Homer's painting studio; to the south are the upscale towns of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, both of which are only 18 miles away.

Although our Old Orchard Beach vacation rentals are a short driving distance from coastal Route One, the Amtrak Downeaster also stops within steps of the pier between early May and mid-October.

Things to do in Old Orchard Beach, ME

A classic east coast beach town in every sense, life in Old Orchard Beach revolves around the sand, the surf, and the Old Orchard Pier, which extends nearly 500 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. First opened to the public in 1898, the pier experienced the peak of its popularity in the mid-20th century, when legendary acts such as Frank Sinatra and Benny Goodman performed in the Pier Casino Ballroom. After being damaged by a series of storms, the pier reopened in its current form in 1980, entertaining visitors with shops, restaurants, nightlife, as well as summer fireworks displays that light up the sky each Thursday.

Taking a break from swimming, surfing, and sunbathing on the lifeguard-patrolled beach? Spend the day at Palace Playland, which features carnival rides for young children and thrill-seekers alike. Enjoy the ocean view from atop the classic Ferris wheel, take a turn around the carousel, or test your nerves (and stomach) on Adrenalin, Riptide, or Power Surge.

And if you're looking to play a round of golf, you'll find beautiful public courses at the Dunegrass Golf Club, the Biddeford-Saco Country Club, the Deep Brook Golf Course, and the Willowdale Golf Club - each within a seven-mile drive of Old Orchard Beach.

Day trips from Old Orchard Beach, ME

Guests at our Old Orchard Beach vacation rentals need only follow Route One to reach some of the most extraordinary towns, beaches, lighthouses, and coastal landscapes in all of New England.

Spend a day in the vibrant city of Portland, where you can sample the freshest of Maine lobster rolls at Fisherman's Grill or splurge on a farm-to-table feast at Fore Street. The quaint villages of Midcoast Maine are just beyond, from the charming riverfront town of Wiscasset to the rugged shores around Phippsburg. Care to remain closer to home? The iconic Portland Head Light, which guards the shores of Cape Elizabeth 18 miles north, dates all the way back to 1791, while Scarborough Beach State Park features gorgeous sand dunes and convenient beach equipment rentals just 12 miles north.

It's never too early to begin planning your next summer escape - let these Southern Maine vacation rentals become your next home away from home!
