If you get a chance, check out the Oregon State Aquarium in Newport. The sea mammals exhibits are a lot of fun for adults and kids. The Yaquina Head area is also a great place to catch some harbor seals playing in the surf.

The Side Door Cafe was great. The casino had good food also. Every place we visited was friendly and had excellent food. Was a little disappointed with the aquarium, not much in the way of petting area, I remembered touching baby sharks and had promised my grandson that opportunity. Spent time on the beach just about everyday. The whole family wants to return to this property soon.

There is a nice trail if you walk out the front entrance, of the house & go to the left the duplex over, go between the tree's it is a trail that goes towards the Gleneden Beach, when get to the end of trail, go left on road, then end of it go right, then the next right, between the rocky entrance,(Which is a Great Place for Pictures with the Ocean as a back drop) Is a Rocky Trail, not to steep, that goes right on to the Beach.. a Beautiful & Private smaller Beach~* Very Peaceful & Nice stay here.. The Fireplace with the Crackling sound of wood, Rain in The evening was very nice & The wood Beamed/Cabin feel of a Duplex. The front of the house looks a little ruff, but once inside & the back side is all Wood ~* We also had Desert at The little cafe up the road they're open for Lunch & Dinner. Next to Eden Hall. off of Gleneden Beach loop. The Tanger Outlets in Lincoln city is a Great place to Shop. Driving down the Coast to New Port, Beautiful area & Nice, peaceful & relaxing stay.

The beach itself is unique! The first day there we walked the beach and noticed it was strangely devoid of any driftwood, rocks, or shells. However, 6 days and a few storms later, the beach was suddenly strewn with an amazing variety of driftwood, kelp, shells, (and trash, unfortunately). We love Boiler Bay, just a few miles south of Gleneden. We made a special trip there at high tide on a stormy day and had a blast getting wet with seaspray and just loving the force of nature! We also had a fabulous dinner at Tidal Raves restaurant in Depoe Bay and a fantastic lunch at Kyllo's in Lincoln City. Highly recommend them both. Finally, had a truly special hot-stone massage by Tamara at Back-in-Touch Massage in Lincoln City. Sheer bliss!

    - Devil's Punchbowl - south of The Beach Ball - was a pretty excursion
    - Yachats Lighthouse/Park, small fee, was interesting. We were there at low tide so had a chance to check out the tidal pools. Also saw whale spouts off to the south.
    - Local Ocean Seafoods restaurant in Newport was fantastic!!! Make reservations.
    - Nye Beach shops were cute
    - At Nye Beach, check out the Sylvia Beach Hotel. It's so cool. All the rooms are decorated for different authors. You are allowed to check out the rooms that are open. Apparently, their restaurant is very good as well.
    - Good tidal pools at the end of Lincoln Beach. We parked in the Clarion Inn parking lot and went down during low tide. Lots to see! Go barefoot or bring your rubber boots to explore.
    - Kite flying on the beach is great! Really good kite store in Lincoln City on the #101.

The beach was a surprise. We are used to long, gentle sloping beaches elsewhere along the coast. Because this beach has a steeper slope and gets deeper faster, the waves crash close to shore, the sea life is closer ( we saw seals swimming just a few feet out). We enjoyed watching the gray whales not far off shore. They even poked their heads out of the water a few times.
The "park" mentioned in the property description is nothing more than a reserved greenspace of dense undergrowth in a hollow up the road. There is no access to it at all. It is not worth mentioning to prospective visitors.

Saw a whale spout and fluke from the beach in front of the house! Loved the quiet of a private beach; could walk for miles. Listening to the tide from the house was so calming and relaxing...just what we all needed.

We enjoyed very much our stay for seven days. However, the hot water breaker switch had to be re-set EVERY DAY, sometimes twice. The GFI plug in the main floor bathroom did NOT work. Only one of the receptacles into which the micro-wave was plugged worked well. A screen door on main level back deck would have been nice, too, since the house got very warm and there was no way to open any windows on the main floor. Management responded w/i two hours to show us what to do w/ the hot water. I tried to put this in a private message to the manager but was not able to. The lighting was very good but reading lamps on all levels would have been nice as people slept all over the place and it would have been nice to reach over to shut off the last light instead of getting up, when you're just ready to fall asleep, to turn off the light. This is not meant to give the place a bad review .

I love the short walk to the beach. Pier 101 in Lincoln City has great steamer clams, Side Door Cafe was good. Our first morning on the beach we saw two gray whales about 20 yards off the beach! Our last walk on the beach we had two seals about the same distance off the beach. They followed us as we walked for over a mile...poking their heads up as if to say hi and see if we were still there. Beautiful.

Liked the short walk to the beach. A little rocky to get down to the beach but other than that it was. Found another path just to left of this one where we could walk down easier. Would have liked to be able to see the ocean more from the house but you definitely could see it from the upstairs front bedroom.

OMG! We felt like we were in the Grand Stands watching a parade of sea life going by, all for the exclusive viewing of me and my sisters! It was amazing, to say the least! Maybe it was the time of year, but we saw whales, seals, pelicans, ospry, gulls, and believe it or not, Bald eagles!! just to name a few. Amazing wonderful vacation. Will be back for sure!!
