Recent Skagit Valley guest reviews

I have to say that after reading the recent reviews I was a bit skeptical about having rented this home. Big surprise! I’m sure glad I did. This modern house is beautiful, spacious and in a gorgeous, quiet setting. It sits right along the ocean with a large deck to watch the water traffic, and wildlife. Beach access is about half a mile down the road; an easy walk. We had eagles flying over everyday. There is a pair of binoculars for wildlife viewing, along with books for cooking/entertainment. The rooms were large, airy and had plenty of seating to be together or room to spread out. The living room has comfy furniture plus a large tv and coffee tables. The bedrooms were nice sized, the master was huge (no accessible closet, but there was a luggage rack), the bathrooms were a dream. All showers worked fine; we never lacked for hot water and the laundry was spacious and well lit. The kitchen is a cooks delight. Tons of cabinet and counter space for numerous people at the same time; perfect for entertaining. The dining room seated 8 people comfortably (we did have to tighten a few screws in a couple of wobbly chairs). It has a large wall of windows, complete with shades, to the living room with a set of double doors to the deck. Many of the previous reviews mentioned things that were lacking at this home: Info book, cooking supplies, spices, etc, but management has fulfilled all those requests. There were plenty of knives, pots/pans, bakeware, a large crockpot, blender, and even aluminum foil, etc. Each sink had a small bar of soap, a bottle of liquid soap, plus hair products, dishwashing soap in the kitchen plus a few dishwasher pods. Plenty to get you started. We stayed 12 days and most supplies lasted throughout that time. We did bring extra TP, dishwasher and washing machine pods (all septic safe). We cooked at least one meal a day and found the kitchen to be adequate for 6 adults and more. The beds and sheets were comfy. There were unlocked closets with extra bedding, hangers, plus lots of shelves in the bathrooms upstairs, (making not having a dresser easier), and large floor fans in every bedroom or closet, along with extra bedding. A word of caution: because you are right above the beach it does get windy and that creates sand storms across the property causing sand to accumulate on the window/door sills outside making them harder to open. A gentle tug from outside while opening helps. Don't leave them open, or you’ll have a mess. The entrance to the driveway has a few mailboxes and gets confusing. There are two driveways, R&L. I suggest using the left driveway, giving access to the kitchen, also where you will find the lockbox (not on the doorknob, but by looking around). I suggest getting there in daylight to make things easier for yourself. There is plenty of parking space near the garage doors (also where the trash receptacle is) by taking the right lane. We had a fantastic time here and would come again.
