The cabin was cozy it was very clean We went on a very cold weekend. The coldest we’ve seen all winter and the pipes had froze but I think everybody’s pipes had froze so we improvised and got through it. It was quiet and very restful. I will definitely be back.

The house is nice and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was great. The location was super convenient to Cannon Mountain. The kitchen was nice, but did have a tiny dishwasher!

Where are the White Mountains?

Spanning a total of 87 miles from New Hampshire and into Maine, these mountains are the most rugged in all of New England, and present an exhilarating challenge for hikers of the Appalachian Trail. Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern U.S. at 6,288 feet, and for 76 years it held the world record for the fastest surface wind gusts—an incredible 231 miles per hour.

Our White Mountains vacation rentals are a great place to escape to the outdoors. A national forest, state park, and beloved ski resort provide year-round activities. But they’re also teeming with local flavor, and you’ll have plenty of access to craft breweries, wineries, shopping, theaters, historical sites, and more.

Outdoor activities in the White Mountains

Whether you’re coming to see the changing autumn leaves or to find the perfect swimming hole for summer, the White Mountains are the perfect place to explore.

Franconia Notch State Park is home to beautiful scenery, including the Flume Gorge, where you can follow Flume Brook between granite walls that rise up to 90 feet overhead. For a quick hike with incredible views, head to Artist Bluff, a popular loop trail clocking in at only 1.4 miles—and an easy spot to catch incredible views of fall foliage. Or you can cool off at Diana’s Baths, located in White Mountain National Forest, where a short hike will take you to a waterfall and swimming holes.

You’ll have so many other outdoor adventures at your fingertips, too: mountain biking trails, fishing or boating on Echo Lake, and some of the best rock climbing in the Northeast. And the fun doesn’t end in the chilly New Hampshire winters.

Our White Mountains cabin rentals and cottages are also located near top-notch skiing or snowboarding. Cannon Mountain is a state-owned resort with 265 acres of skiable terrain. The resort is known as one of the Northeastern U.S.’s most challenging ski areas—but that doesn’t mean first-timers can’t enjoy a day on the slopes. Tuckerbrook Learning Area was specially designed with beginners in mind, and offers 14 easier trails so you can learn the ropes.

Other things to do near our White Mountains cabin rentals and cottages

Or perhaps you’re looking for more of a relaxing getaway exploring the local offerings. Our White Mountains vacation rentals are the perfect place to unwind amid picturesque New England towns.

Take a leisurely drive to admire the scenery from your vehicle and explore the area. Head to Schilling Beer in Littleton for a tasty pint and wood-fired pizza, or sip wine in the cute town of Lincoln at Seven Birches Winery. A number of restaurants and bars are sprinkled throughout the area, so you can sample different bites as you explore. And be sure to stop along the way at Honeymoon Bridge, a charming covered bridge suspended over the Ellis River, and the perfect photo background.

There’s so much to see and do in the White Mountains. Catch a production at one of several local theaters, or ride the rides at Santa’s Village, a Christmas-themed amusement park. Visit one of the many historical sites and museums, shop the boutiques and antique stores, and more. However you and your group like to vacation, our White Mountains cabins offer something for everyone.
