After a cold day of skiing, enjoy the hot tub in the nearby clubhouse or take advantage of the heated swimming pool and sauna. Don’t feel like cooking...visit one of the many fine restaurants in Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco or Vail. And who doesn’t like to shop? Walk through the outlet mall in Silverthorne where you can find just about anything or visit the quaint boutiques in Frisco and Breckenridge. During the winter months, enjoy skiing, snowboarding, powder surfing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Take the shuttle across the street for a 10 min trip to Keystone ski area or drive 15 minutes to A Basin or Copper, both offering free parking. Breckenridge and Vail are a short 30 min drive. Snowshoe or cross country ski at the Keystone or Frisco Nordic Center or trek through your neighborhood trails. Participate in or watch the snowkiting on Lake Dillon; try a bit of ice fishing. The old mining town of Leadville (40 min away) offers their spectacular skijoring in early March, popular since 1949--horses and riders pulling skiers at fast speeds over jumps and obstacles making for plenty of thrills and spills.
Summer activities abound. Enjoy a short hike on paved trails up and around Lake Dillon to the famous Tiki Bar for a cold drink or a longer hike into Dillon over the Oro Grande trail behind the Corinthian Hills neighborhood. Summer concerts are held every weekend at the newly remodeled Dillon amphitheatre; most are free. Walk through the many festivals and farmers’ markets. Favorite festivals are the beer, wine, bacon and mac-n-cheese festivals held in Keystone and Copper Mountain. Try yoga on a paddleboard, boating, fishing, kayaking, tennis, or golf. Whether summer or winter, adults or children, you will never lack for a variety of activities in Summit County.
