You'll be half a mile south of Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort (the largest cross-country ski area in North America), one mile south of the lifts at Soda Springs, and an easy drive from the slopes of Sugar Bowl (three miles east) and Boreal Mountain (five miles northeast). The city of Truckee is only 15 minutes up the road. Come summertime, you can hike Bill and Flora's Point (one mile south) and swim at West End Beach on Donner Lake (seven miles east).
