This house was perfect for the two of us. It advertises that it sleeps up to eight. You would have to be a very close group that liked each other a whole lot Everything else from the furniture, setting and stocked kitchen was wonderful. We'd stay here again.

Our family spent Christmas in this wonderful house in wild dunes. It’s close to the beach on a quiet lagoon. They have absolutely everything there for cooking and gathering. Wonderful screened in porch and deck. Comfy beds. Newer bathrooms . Tvs in bedrooms and good WiFi. Got a quick response from the management company when we had a Minor concern and even when we wanted more towels! I would definitely stay there again,

My family and I came down to IOP for fall break and rented in wild dunes as we have done several times over the past years. The home we stayed in was spacious for us and other family. It is also very close walking distance to the beach. This was our first time renting through vacasa. They promote they take extra time for cleaning but many places in the home were dirty including sheets, dining room table and many of the dishes. Information provided in the email states that checkout is at 10 am. At 9 am the cleaning crew arrived and sat outside of our home for an hour waiting for us to leave and even carried linens and other supplies up the steps as we were trying to carry out our luggage. We love wild dunes resort but next time will book through them directly and not vacasa.
Manager response:
Angela, we are sorry to hear that your experience with us was not the pleasant and relaxing vacation for which we strive to facilitate. We apologize for the cleanliness and maintenance issues you encountered that negatively impacted your stay. Thank you for bringing this to our attention so our local manager has the opportunity to address it with our housekeeping team to see that future cleans are completed to our standards. We hope you will allow us the opportunity to host you in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at Pelican Reach. The decorating was tasteful and the beds were comfortable. We loved the porches and the space was large enough for a family of 4. I’m not sure it would work as well with young children (because the two upper bedrooms have balconies) or with larger families as some of the spaces were on the small side (living room, screened-in porch and kitchen). The grill worked well and the house had a number of games available (e.g., Monopoly, Apples to Apples).

The house was a 5 minute walk to the beach which wasn’t overly crowed. For visitors coming during the pandemic, please note the neighborhood pool is small, was closed and is unlikely to open this Summer. The area under the house included an outdoor shower which was helpful on return from the beach and provided a good place to leave beach chairs and other beach items.

The island has great roads and paths for walking and biking. If you plan to rent a bike, consider making an advance reservation during the summer months.

The house could use some upgrades. As noted in other reviews, the bedrooms in the back of the house need blackout shades. We used sleep masks and I would recommend bringing them unless you are a very early riser. The ceiling in the living room has an area where it was noticeably repaired. The screen on the screened-in porch can use repairs in a few places – for example, it was ripped by the door. The WiFi was spotty during our stay – if others have the same problem, it may be time for a new router. This is important because Verizon reception is terrible on the island; however, we were able to make calls from the porches.

We noticed several large bugs in the house (some alive and some dead). Speaking of bugs, don’t forget your insect repellent and make sure to put it on in the evening. There is a lagoon behind the house and the bugs are everywhere.

The house included an initial supply of items such as shampoo, soap and paper towels and you can pick up anything you need at the Harris Teeter on the island or several other stores within 15 minutes such as Target.

We’d definitely visit Isle of Palms again and would consider renting this house again although it really needs to address the issues above to be a 5 star house at the current rental price.

I feel that a beach rental should provide the items needed for going to the beach I.e. towels and chairs. There were miscommunications from the office. Told the pool was closed yet it was being enjoyed by residents . Didn’t realize until our last day there.
Manager response:
We're very sorry for the inconvenience during your stay. This issue occurred under a previous management company. Our local teams are working with that company to learn from feedback and fix any issues. We just started managing this unit and would love for you to try staying with Vacasa in the future to experience our world class service.

Beautiful property, great location

Everything was great and as promised

Nice unit, updated and well appointed. However the master bedroom needs blinds or black out shades. Thin white curtains do not block out the deck lights (on all night?) or the rising sun. Also, sheets that fit the bed and decent pillows would greatly enhance the sleeping experience.
