This was an excellent choice for a retreat weekend with friends. The view was amazing and the space is enormous. The fireplaces do not work—which was the only disappointment because I had called Vacasa to verify they did work before we arrived. 100% would book again
Oksana R. Jul 2019
We really loved the house and spectacular views of the ocean. Hot tub is nice as well. The house was clean on the inside. Would probably go again sometime.

Hermosa vista

Great place for our use. No major issues. Small hike down to beach, was pleasant. Quiet subdivision too.

Only wish directions were provided to offsite parking as well as trail access. Had to use satellite images to locate the trail and we just guessed which loop the trailhead was on.

We were blown away by the amazing view. The house was comfortable and very nice for the 6 of us and our dog. We had everything we needed except a wine opener. The sun room is so fun to be in when its raining, the hottub was splendid, an that master shower is incredible. We can’t wait to stay here again.
Amy W. Dec 2018
Great views in a lovely area. Lots of room in this house. Kitchen is nice but could use some more standard supplies like a wine opener. I would stay there again.
Amit B. Sep 2018
The house is really beautiful with a stunning view of the ocean. I highly recommend to get a cup of coffee and sit in the dining area just enjoying the magnificent view of the sunset. The house is well equipped with all amenities, we were 11 people in the house and at no point did not run out of anything. Although there is a cap on water consumption on this property but we did not have any issues with it.
The only con I would say is that some of the windows do not have any flares to close. Also, the jet tub leaks in the kitchen so have to be careful while using it.

My family and I had an amazing time. The Sahhali Ocean Vista House was in a beautiful location in Neskowin. We got the best of both worlds. It was tucked away in a foresty area with deer, rabbit and other critters and just a short hike down to the beach. There were many windows and decks to view and enjoy the scenery. There was plenty of privacy and it was a very peaceful place to stay. The house was spacious, neat and clean. We would definitely stay at this vacation rental again.
Nicole D. Aug 2018
The house was stunning, but the basement and sun room had a mildew smell that was a deterrent. The current owners don’t seem to care for the house much. There are plants growing out of the gutters and a cheap decorations and furniture. The guest beds were creaky and uncomfortable and the tv was too old to plug in the Apple TV that we brought. All-in-all, it was a lovely weekend but I will be finding a different location next time. I hope the owners invest in the home a bit more as it is lovely, but needs care.
Manager response:
We apologize for any unpleasant odors; we were unable to notice any smells or any sources of such smells. The TV is about two years old, and we do apologize if it did not suit this guest's desires.

Had a great time staying at this house! Loved the hot tub! Enjoyed our stay!

We have stayed at this house twice and love the location on the Oregon coast. Last November I suggested some maintenance issues that needed attention and sadly nothing has changed this trip in May.
Deanna D. May 2018
We loved everything about this gorgeous home! The spacious, well equipped kitchen, the breathtaking views, the stunning master bathroom - I could go on and on! We thoroughly enjoyed our mini family reunion retreat in this home, and hope to return again in the future.

We loved it. It was so beautiful and cozy!
Diana C. Mar 2018
The house is large which makes it convenient to have different areas for the kids and adults. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and there was a good sized elk herd in the yard one day.
Shannon Z. Feb 2018
Excellent house to view the ocean from a distance. The house was in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood.
Meganne M. Dec 2017
The only concerns we had with this property were the HOA regulations that put a damper on the rental. There is a major concern about water use, outside lights, and noise. For just the two of us the water wasn't any issue but we would have worried about bringing a group here (which the house is ideal for). Every other property we have rented with Vacasa has been fantastic and not had these concerns or potential big ticket fines attached.
Susan S. Nov 2017
Beautiful setting with ocean and forest views. Would come again.
Sydne F. Oct 2017
Thi house is so beautiful everybody who i went on this trip with was so happy and enjoyed every second. We didnt expect a big trip to the beach because we went during a storm, but when we did decide to walk down there it wasnt easy to get to. Which sucked but we made it and it was jice. If we went during summer the walk wouldve been nicer. We didnt look at the picture of the pool table before renting so the pool table isnt what we expected but we stil had a lot of fun with what we got. The reminders about lights was nice. Overall it was a great trip and the house was so nice we didnt want to leave!
Cathy H. Oct 2017
We had a ladies weekend and we had plenty of space to spread out and a great kitchen to cook in. The best part is the spectacular view of the ocean and the surrounding forest setting
Jonathan J. Aug 2017
House lacking repairs, not well cleaned, then the HOA is ridiculous and tires to fine us $1620 after our stay for extra car. No one lives in this Shall neighborhood, likely because of such pathetic service. Sorry, but do not rent!
Kim W. Jun 2017
Awesome view, parking and water is annoying
Megan M. May 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed this property!
Connie L. Apr 2017
Nice home to go and relax. Love the openness of the main floor. Needs a little TLC.
Jo Ellen W. Jan 2017
This spacious home is a delight. Plenty of room for a crowd, very clean, beautiful views, quiet and private. These are our most important considerations, and the house delivered on all counts. There were just two of us, so the water restrictions weren't a problem at all. The house has a huge kitchen, but if you plan to do serious cooking, you may want to bring your own cookware. We hope to return this summer with our grown children.
Alexander K. Nov 2016
I really enjoyed the peacefulness of the location. We were a good distance from other houses and felt private. Wish there was beach access though. We had to drive a couple miles to get to a beach access. Property was clean and spacious.

Great family getaway.
Laura E. Sep 2016
We had a greatly fun time at this location. It was a little further from the beach than expected. Took a good 15 minutes to get down to the water- part of the walk though is lovely once you get on the path. But was a downside to not be able to pop down there as easily. The kitchen is missing some key items (a good wine key/opener, cookie sheets, roasting pans) and the oven is a struggle to open/close. However, we had a lot of space, great seating areas, saw some wildlife, enjoyed the hot tub, etc.. Was a fun and beautiful time, but likely won't visit again due to proximity to the water.
James B. Aug 2016
We stayed here for 5 nights in August and were generally pleased with it. House sits probably 200 feet above sea level and it's a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach. First half of the walk is on street and second half down a trail. It was dry while we were there and there was no problem with trail. If wet it could be a little challenging. We did see a small mama black bear and 2 cubs on our first trip down. They ran away quickly upon seeing us. Plenty of deer in the neighborhood.

Beach is nice - no tidepools in this stretch - but plenty of nice sand and hardly anyone in either direction. Sunset, if it's clear, is quite spectacular.

Neighborhood consists of some really big vacation homes and was mostly empty during our visit. At ~3000 sq ft, this house was on small side, but plenty large for our family of 4. Master suite is very nice with a comfy king size bed and enormous bathroom. Our daughters slept in adjoining upper level room which is also quite spacious. We didn't use basement at all, but it could accommodate several more people. House was built about 20 years ago and a few things are a bit dated, but really very nice overall.

Water limit was no problem for us. We never even triggered the 50% level despite showering, washing clothes and dishes, etc.

Very relaxing place to spend a few days at a pretty reasonable price if that's what you're after.
Tara S. Mar 2016
The house was great, but if you plan on cooking, you might want to bring your own things, pretty limited supplies. Also, bring soap for the kitchen and bathroom. Other than that, it was a very nice place, beautiful views...
Daniel P. Mar 2016
I hesitate to provide a good review, in fear of too many people renting it in the future and it not being available for me. It may not be the newest or most up to date house, but it has the MOST spectacular views of any home around. From panoramic ocean views (in almost every room) to views of Elk herds bedding down just below the property. Eating meals at the dining room table was difficult. Our food got cold, because we were so focused on the view!!! 5 Stars for the experience.
Alex V. Mar 2016
The fireplace doesn't work. You get a beach view but beach it like 30 min away if you walk there. Hot tub needs to be changed because all my swim clothes changed colors. They ran out of propane for grill we tried to call but no one answered so we had to waste our time to go to store. Also kitchen needs to be more stocked up. Also couldn't use jet tub upstairs because your worrying so you don't go over your water limit and also lights worrying they gotta be off by a certain time and some of the back porch lights didn't work. Wouldnt come back.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see that you did not have a better stay here. The Property Manager has been advised of the inconveniences you experienced during your stay and will be sure to address them with the owners to the best of their abilities.

THE GOOD: The Sahhali Ocean Vista house in Neskowin is in a beautiful location. It was easy to find, and access into Lincoln City was good. The house is large and comfortable. Kitchen is well equiped, bathrooms are clean and well-supplied with towels, LR couches and love seats are comfortable and cozy. We only used the upper level Master Bedroom and the loft bedroom - the beds were comfortable. The view from the house is gorgeous. We often saw Mule Deer and Elk grazing in a field below. The beach far below is a very nice beach. The inside of the home seems to be maintained well. We saw very beautiful sunsets almost every day. Access to the beach was a bit of a hike. We found it better to drive down to the end of the subdivision street and then take the walking path access. It's all up hill going back.
THE BAD: When we arrived the kitchen floor was very sticky. The coffee pot was not appropriately cleaned. There was old food left on the floor of the side deck. The patio furniture on the deck was rusted and crumbling. The planks on the same deck were crumbling as well. No other patio furniture was available. Crumbs and other detritus were stuck on the pull-out cutting board in the kitchen. The windows are very dirty which impeded the gorgeous view below and beyond. We wound up cleaning two or three on our own! The crank windows were very hard to open and some were broken or stuck. The Vacasa binder with the directions and rules of the house was left on the table for us to peruse. Inside it said there were instructions on how to work the pellet fireplace. There were instructions tacked up on the wall next to the fireplace. We could not get it to work. After calling Vacasa, we were told that the owner/property manager had taken the working fireplace off the amenties list! Then why was it still in the Vacasa binder and instructions still tacked on the wall? When we reserved this house in 2/15, the website and our confirmation stated that there was a working fireplace. Two of the bedrooms are in the upper level - the Master with a great Master Bath and the loft bedroom. Although those in the loft bedroom were a bit inconvenienced with not having their own private bath or a closet in which to hand their clothing. The third bedroom in the lower level is equipped with bunk beds. It would be better if the bunkbeds were put in the loft bedroom and the queen size bed be placed in the lower bedroom where a full bath is readily available.
THE UNFINISHED: There were several construction projects that were in progress -- plywood boards were up on the deck fencing where glass should have been. The fireplace (as we were told by Vacasa later) was another project the owner/property manager was going to replace. The lower deck was not completed. VRBO and Vacasa should make sure that the house is completely rentable before placing on their web site.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your review with us. We are sorry for the housekeeping and maintenance problems you experienced during your stay. Housekeeping management will follow-up with the housekeepers, and the Property Manager is actively working on the deck and fireplace. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the location!
Tracy M. Aug 2015
The home was beautiful with breathtaking views. It was very spacious and plenty of room. The basement area is perfect for the kids! It was overall very comfortable (sofa's, bed's, etc.). The "rules" of the house are unrealistic. Many notes throughout the house to have "outside" lights off by 10:00 or else. Also there is a 300/gal per day water limit and threats of $1100 fines if you fill up the water tank which takes away from a stress free stay. There is a nice jet tub in master bathroom however with the limited water you will not want to use it.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We are sorry to see that the home wasn't quite the right fit. There is a water restriction in place to meet Department of Environmental Quality standards that ensure that the beautiful natural area is preserved, and we understand that this does make some guests nervous as they do not want the possibility of paying the fine. Our guests stay well under the limit and are usually able to have a great time while doing so. We are glad to see that you enjoyed the house itself and the pretty views.

From the bright, airy rooms to the big windows the View was an amazing mix of forest and beach. The furnishings and beds were clean up to date and comfy. Great stay for our family and friends.
Karen T. Jul 2015
My friends and I came for a weekend to get a way from the chaos and heat of Portland, we had a great time. I would come back to this location any time. The beds were comfy and the towels were plentiful.
Emily P. Jul 2015
The master bath was pretty hard for other "families" to use because it was right off the master BR and the other 2 queen beds were upstairs as well. Other than that a great place to relax especially if the weather isn't cooperating. Lots of comfy nooks. LONG walk to the beach for little ones.
Emily G. May 2015
The house is beautiful, open, and offers great furnishing, although outdated the view is worth it. Our family enjoyed the home a good deal. The hot tub was nice although does not face the ocean, completely on the back side of the house and is edge with a massive;y overgrown yard to which is disappointing. The skylights are great but bright early and very, very dirty and moldy.
Most beds are great but the hide-a-bed is just springs with a thin mat. Not comfortable at all.
We were not notified about the decks being worked on and the one we could utilize was very unsafe. This was highly disappointing.
Word of caution the beach access is not very accessible and very slippery. The minimal trail is through a wildlife refuge to which bear, cougar, elk and deer love. The bears love the sand dunes close by. The house listing does not share this and in walking our dog we had 3 challenging wild animal encounters in our one trek to the beach, this is not a kid friendly treck either. very difficult. Utilize the beach at Neskowin or Pacific City.
Manager response:
Thank you for your comments regarding the home and beach path. The path to the beach is about half a mile long and we do not recommend it for the elderly or small children as it can be challenging and goes through a National Wildlife Refuge. We will consider your comments regarding the house as we work on improvements. This home is great for a larger, older group and has comfortable furnishings with a great hot tub. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
Josefina C. Mar 2015
Accidentally got locked out of the master bedroom. I called Vacasa and they were very helpful and quick to help me get in the master bedroom. Definitely renting this place again.
Vida L. Oct 2014
The view and the house were wonderful. I needed to add a person to our reservation about 10 days before our stay and Vacasa accomodated my request without any issues. My added guest was elderly and the stairs were challenging for her. I probably would have chosen a different house if I knew in the beginning, that she would be joining us. The stairs were no problem for my husband and I. We actually liked the feeling being up in the trees. The kitchen was well equipped and we had no problems with the water restrictions.

The inside of the house was immaculate.

The outside of the house and the gardens need a bit of attention. There were lot of special touches to the garden that indicate someone loved it at one time.

Manager response:
I am sorry to hear that the home didn't work well for your added guest, and I hope their stay was still enjoyable. This home definitely works well for a couple of families with younger children/teens when it comes to the stairs and sleeping space. We will work on getting that landscaping spruced up again! Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
Jian L. Aug 2014
We went here for a family getaway and overall it was a nice experience all around. The house is definitely large and easily holds the 11 people that is displays. A short hike down a nice path to the beach, but be cautioned that there is a small section that is pretty steep and bit slippery. Beach is very private and beautiful. We had a great time here and were able to get to Lincoln city with a short drive to get groceries and anything we had forgotten to bring on the trip. We would stay here again. It was very comfortable and relaxing.
Manager response:
We appreciate you sharing your review of your stay! It's always wonderful to hear that the home was a great match for your family gathering. It's true that hiking to the beach (about 1/2 mile) can be challenging to some, but there are many other public beaches nearby. Thanks for letting Vacasa help you plan your getaway!
Susan P. Aug 2014
The space easily accommodated our group of 11 adults. We found parking restrictions a major problem. The water restrictions are also very strict and worrisome. Outdoor deck really not usable so don't plan on outdoor eating.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review and feedback. The home does have a restriction to 3 cars maximum with 2 needing to be in the garage. Parking restrictions are set by the town the home resides in. We do apologize if this was not convenient.
Ruth L. Apr 2014
This house was the perfect place to hang out on the rainy parts of Oregon coast days! So many places to sit together or be in your own space if you wanted to be. We had a puzzle going on one table, kids on the tv area, adults reading or hanging out at the dining room table with the killer view! During the day, the house is perfect! Luckily nights aren't as important, but the rooms upstairs are best suited for a family rather than two couples. There is a master with a great bathroom, and then an open loft with two queen beds. No other bathroom upstairs though, so you have to go downstairs in the night if necessary . We were worried about the water usage (only 300 gallons per day) but it was never really an issue for our 3night stay. The walk and path to the beach are great, deer in the backyard were a treat, and location of the property, perfect.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and were able to manage with the bathroom situation. The setup is a little unique but most guests have no issues with this. Also, there is a water restriction in place to meet Department of Environmental Quality standards that ensure that the beautiful natural area are preserved. Again, our guests rarely have any issues with this guideline. Thanks again for your feedback and we hope to see you again soon!
Kayin G. Feb 2014
We all enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is unique and much attention is given to architectural details. The views are spectacular!!! Though we loved the view and furnishing the house isn't "lived in" so it didn't have a warmth factor to it. Not many dishes in the cupboards , no books sitting out or games and dvds to choose from. It's a pretty sparse house when it comes to the filler things that make a house a home. As well, it was a bit annoying to try to think through how much water we had used and had left to use. That said though, this place is beautiful and was a nice retreat for us all!
Lisa L. Nov 2013
The way this house is situated on the mountain with large trees around you it makes you feel like you are in a tree house with a grand view of the ocean.

Very private. Large home with many areas for people to gather or separate as needed.
Eric S. Nov 2013
My wife, myself and two pups spent 4 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. The house is really nice, the view is wonderful, and the beach was like we had it to ourselves. The path down to the beach and back is really special for scenery, but it is steep.
It was our first experience with Vacasa and we will use them again.

We were very happy with our stay other than a couple small issues. The house is VERY nice and comfy. It was very clean and the beds are comfortable with plenty of linens and blankets. The view is spectacular but a little deceiving about going to the beach. It looks like you can get to the beach very easy but once you get down there it is actually quite a long walk which we did not even try. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would definitely go again.
Sandy N. Sep 2013
Our families loved this home!! The home is beautiful, spacious and in a quiet location. It is a .50 mile trek down a refuge trail to the beach but once it was located it changed our days! Our kiddos ages 4-10 were able to do the hike and the beach was amazing. Its quiet, and peaceful. We would definitely come back to this home!
Terry G. Aug 2013
This house sits very high on a hill and has a spectacular view of the ocean. The large living, dining and kitchen areas are great for large groups. Our last morning there, we even got to see small herd of elk herd pass below the house as we stood on the deck.
Sarah R. Jul 2013
Our large family was very comfortable in the house. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and everyone had a place to sleep, which rarely happens. The ocean views are absolutely beautiful, with big windows in every room. The beds were comfortable, there were more than enough towels and blankets, and everyone had a great time. There's a really nice, sheltered beach in Neskowin which is only a few minutes down the road, and you can get to Lincoln City in about 15 minutes. Overall, it was a nice relaxing place to visit. Our family would definitely go back and rent the same house again. Nobody wanted to leave!
Sean R. Jul 2013
This is just a stunning property. The views cannot be beat. Every morning and evening we enjoyed watching the deer and elk graze in the field below while listening and watching the waves crash. Absolutely stunning area. Very comfortable house. Heavenly dining room. Nothing better.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review - we are glad you got to enjoy the wildlife and the gorgeous views! We hope to have you back again soon!
