Quaint new cottage w/ porch, deck & river views - close to Wiscasset & Boothbay!

Modern comfort meets the timeless charm of Midcoast Maine at this three-bedroom Edgecomb cottage, a warm and welcoming home with a private front porch and back deck, beautiful views of the Sheepscot River, and easy access to the nearby villages of Wiscasset and Boothbay Harbor.

Built in 2014, this two-level cottage is part of the Sheepscot Harbour Village Resort, a picturesque community and spa on the eastern shores of the Sheepscot River. You'll be just across the river from downtown Wiscasset, half a mile north of Fort Edgecomb State Historic Site, and only 12 miles north of Boothbay Harbor.

The living space is open and inviting, offering a blend of tile and wood floors, a cozy sitting area, and WiFi to keep you connected with friends back home. Come home from a day of kayaking to rest on the plush sofa, read a book in a barrel armchair, and flip through the cable offerings on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV.

Prepare for a day in the great outdoors by cooking breakfast in the elegant kitchen, where you'll find stainless steel appliances, a state-of-the-art refrigerator for your lobsters and steamers, and a dining table with space for six. You'll even have use of a dishwasher to make the clean-up fast, easy, and stress-free.

Take morning walks on the community trails to Fort Edgecomb, pamper yourself with a massage and a pedicure at the onsite spa, or spend the day strolling through charming downtown Wiscasset. Just be home in time to light the charcoal grill for dinner, soak in the woodland views on the back deck, and watch the sunset over the river on the classic front porch.

With three bedrooms and three full bathrooms, On The Edgecomb will accommodate a total of six guests. The main floor features two bedrooms - one with a king-size bed and an en suite nautical bathroom, and another with a double bed and a private bath. Upstairs, you'll find a third bedroom with a king-size bed, an en suite bathroom, and a private balcony.

Additional amenities include a sleeper sofa in the living room and a washer/dryer in the kitchen, ensuring that your wardrobe is ready for hiking, beach-going, and dining out on the town with your loved ones.

As one of the darling cottages in the Sheepscot Harbour Village Resort, this Edgecomb home is a wonderful base for exploring the wonders of Midcoast Maine. Drive just across the river to taste some of the best lobster rolls in the state at Red's Eats - the friendly seafood shack that always (and deservedly) has a line of lobster-lovers snaking down the street.

When you're not perusing the shops and galleries in Wiscasset, head south to beautiful Boothbay Harbor, where you can take day-long excursions with Tidal Transit Kayak, tour the seasonal blooms in the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and sample delicious seafood at Boothbay Lobster Wharf. Looking to explore a bit more? Follow Route 1 to reach the lovely port of Rockland just 32 miles east.

Great location to explore from. We flew into Portland and drove to the home. Only an hour or so drive. Then for a week we explored the Maine shoreline all the way to Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia National Park. The home was well appointed and within a very short drive for supplies. Would recommend it.

Each bedroom was beautifully decorated as was the entire home. My husband and parents said it was one of the nicest places they've ever stayed in!

Beautiful house. Great location. Walking distance to Wiscasett. Easy drive to Damariscotta or Booth bay. Beautifully decorated newly built house. Quiet neighborhood.

Travelled to this lovely home. Staff was able to accommodate an early arrival. Helpful Vacasa phone staff. We were there to visit our son, a naval sailor, stationed on Bath. There wasn't much to do in the area during the off season, but we didn't go for the weather. It was a great place to visit with our son. Lots of room, so we weren't tripping over each other. It was such a beautifully appointed home; it felt like a luxurious get away.

Nice accommodations - Location worked out for us as we were in the area to visit family

Warning, this house has no central air conditioning! We arrived and realized the home has one small window unit to cool the two bedrooms downstairs and the kitchen/family room. That would have been fine, but there are NO screens on the windows. I'm not sure what Vascasa or the home owner is thinking, but cool air circulation is a must even in Maine at night. We were miserable in the upstairs bedroom. He home is very nice except for this fact. Also, don't think about grilling as there is no grill. You are not booking a house on the water, as we thought. The view showed is extremely misleading. That is not your view at all! If you were at one of the homes closer down near the water you would see that view. Edgecomb is on the other side of a bridge and the town there is Wiscasset. Edgecomb is a community and there is nothing there. In Wiscasset there is one restaurant and Red's Eats Lobster Shack. Very remote area.

This is a beautiful home, with convenient access just off Route 1. It is nicely appointed with tasteful decorating throughout! Please note that the home is not on the river, and has only a peek-a-boo view of the water and sunset. However, it's setting is nicely done with a great front porch!

This house is spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was located conveniently to nearby attractions and mostly quiet neighborhood. The customer service and local manager were very helpful.

Cottage is nestled within lots of other cottages but with a pretty water view. Area is VERY quiet and the house has great space to stretch out, enjoy the company you came with, but spacious enough to give everyone their privacy. Stayed in April and not a lot of places were open. We enjoyed our family time together!

The cottage has everything you could possibly need and was very clean, modern and comfortable. We sat on the front porch enjoying beautiful sunsets and calming waters. The rooms were spacious and Their is a small deck facing a wooded area for the bird watchers like me. Kitchen was great and the washer and dryer was a bonus. This cottage is in a resort with other cottages but their was plenty of yard space between the cottages. We loved jogging around the resort to work off the vacation calories. We did day trips to Boothbay Harbor (very close - 15 min drive) Camden/Rockport (50 min drive) and Freeport LL Bean (less than an hour away). Being able to walk/drive over the bridge to Wiscasset where you will find restaurants, art galleries and antique shops was very convenient.

We were looking for a place to stay and friends told us about their Maine trip. They recommended this cottage as they had the best time exploring the area and staying at this cottage. My wife and I decided to travel down to Maine and we booked this cottage. Its was the best vacation ever! What a beautiful area to explore and the cottage exceeded our expectations. Plenty of space on the large front porch perfect for reading or enjoying the sun and view of the water. We found the cottage had everything we needed and appreciated how well appointed the kitchen was since we both enjoy cooking the local fresh foods. There is a private back deck that is shady. We hated to leave this wonderful place and plan to come back.

When we travel, we enjoy staying in cabins or cottages and have stayed in many. Of all the various cabins and cottages we have stayed in over the many years nothing can compare to the charm of this beautiful cottage. The cottage was immaculate and each room had themed decor showing that the owners of the cottage looked for the perfect decor for each room to make it feel welcoming and cozy. The kitchen has everything you need if you enjoy cooking. Their are 2 inviting porches to enjoy the scenery. The upstairs bedroom has a step our small balcony that over looks the Sheepscott River. Plenty of lawn area for children to play on. This cottage was close to wonderful attractions. Our family loved Boothbay Harbour because it had boat outings and several shops to explore. We visited Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. Our family walked across the bridge to the quaint town of Wiscasset. My husband and I enjoyed the famous Lobster rolls from Reds Eats. Don't be surprised to see a long line up of people waiting to order one of these famous lobster rolls. This place was just the perfect vacation spot. We realized we especially liked that the cottage was such a restful welcoming place after a day trip of exploring. The room lay out allowed the family to spread out for quiet time. We just can't say enough and were so happy we found this gem of a cottage. We highly recommend it to all who are considering it. We will be booking this wonderful cottage again since the whole family enjoyed it. The management went out of their way to make us feel welcome and were a phone call away if we had any questions or needs. Don't hesitate to book this cottage if your looking for a great place to relax.
