Cozy, dog-friendly home w/fiber optic cable, gourmet kitchen - bus to Schweitzer

Are you looking for a great adventure getaway with your friends and family? Or that romantic getaway you've been dreaming about? This lovely dog-friendly house with free fiber-optic WiFi is nestled in the quiet heart of Sandpoint but still within walking distance to all Sandpoint has to offer. This quaint space also has a large, private fenced backyard, perfect for family barbecues, playing with your dogs, or lounging in the sun.

Located only six blocks from downtown, the city beach and the sparkling waters of Lake Pend Oreille, you'll be just minutes away from a restful afternoon in the sun, on the sand, or in the heart of downtown. Restaurants, coffee shops, brewery/pubs, grocers, and various shops are all within short walking distance. The Farmers’ Market is on Saturdays with plenty of food trucks offering a wide variety of great cuisine. Pack up swim gear on the bikes and trailer. Within minutes you'll be at one of the best views on the lake, all without struggling through summer traffic or the headache of parking.

The 1908 house is adorned throughout with a handsome wood finish, giving it a classic, old-fashioned ambiance. Keep warm in the evenings by stoking up the wood stove, then kick back on the plush sectional sofa. You'll be totally set up with a 40-inch TV, an AppleTV with Netflix and streaming capabilities for your favorite music and movies, and free fiber WiFi service with Amplify HD access points allows for very high speed streaming from any location in the house or back yard.

In addition, there are USB charging outlets for all your devices in the kitchen, living room and bedrooms, so no need to bring your chargers. Local guidebooks are provided to get you started on your adventure or to simply feed your inner armchair adventurer.

If you're not a foodie now, you will be after getting a taste of the fully stocked, beautifully equipped gourmet kitchen with a gas range and a double oven. There is an abundance of counter space, seating for two at the marble island, and a formal dining room to enjoy a sit-down dinner. If you're here during the summer, make the most of the weather by firing up the gas grill, grabbing a bottle of wine, and enjoying the large, fenced private backyard while gently swinging on the reclaimed ski lift chair or roasting marshmallows over the fire pit.

The master bedroom is furnished with a comfortable queen-size bed and a large window to let in the sunlight. A cozy second bedroom upstairs includes a second queen bed and two twins, which means that up to six people can enjoy the home at once. (For a small fee, you can bring both of your dogs along, too!) Please note that there is only ONE bathroom, however, making this ideal for a couple or small family getaway. There is a large sectional couch in the TV room and two couches in the family room allowing for plenty of space for family and friends to spread out. If you're traveling with an infant, a Pack ’n Play is provided in a spare room so no need to haul all of your gear with you on vacation. Situated on a corner lot, there is ample parking for your boat, RV or extra cars.

Perched on the banks of Lake Pend Oreille, Sandpoint offers a charming small-town vibe while also providing easy access to a dazzling range of outdoor activities. The house is less than five minutes from a wonderful bike trail that takes you out along the banks of the lake and up into the surrounding hills. Four adult bikes and a kid’s trailer are provided for your convenience, and this home is just minutes from a local bike trail. After you get back, cool off with a dip in the alpine waters of Lake Pend Oreille, or pay a visit to nearby Schweitzer Mountain, where you can ski, hike, mountain bike or pick huckleberries. Catch the bus to the gorgeous slopes of Schweitzer Mountain or investigate the amusement park rides at Silverwood Theme Park.

Great location and very clean.

It was cute and cozy and modern and quiet, great kitchen, bikes to use, (though we had our own), firepit, and more we didn't even have time for. A great find.

Well equipped kitchen.

We had a great stay. It was perfect for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The upstairs bedroom was set up nicely for a family. We were pleasantly surprised by the fenced backyard with a variety of berries and fruit trees. It was a very convenient location, with a relaxing feel.

This rental is exactly as advertised. The property’s location is perfect for walking the town and fully loaded with everything you need for a long stay. Spacious and quite yet close to everything. Would highly recommend this property. We’ll definitely be returning.

Loved the house - very comfortable with great remodeled kitchen. Back yard is huge and the best part it's downtown. Will see you next summer!
Eric S. Jul 2019
House was very nice. Has a great back yard for pets and barbequing.
Kathy K. Jul 2019
House was a good size for the 4 of us, in a location where my two teens could easily bike (using the bikes provided) to the beach at the lake. We grilled on the back deck, although the kitchen had every utensil available for more elaborate meals, plus comprehensive spices. We were out and about most of the time, but did watch some Netflix in the comfy living area. There were beds for more than 4, which the house is big enough to handle as long as everyone is okay sharing 1 bathroom.

Great house in a great location!

The kitchen was amazing. We had everything we needed to make Christmas dinner. It was comfortable and relaxing for all of us.

The house is well maintained and comes as advertised and reviewed online. Plenty of living spaces to spread out if needed but also large enough to spend time with others. Good sized, fenced yard is a plus. Bathroom and shower are a little dated but still acceptable. Kitchen is updated with plenty of space for cooking and gathering.

One complaint is that there were ants in both the kitchen (sink area) and bathroom (shower) when we arrived around 7pm. We contacted management who said it would not be until the next day when they could come out. Ant traps were placed in those locations when we were out the next day, but not until late afternoon, so we went almost 24 hours with the ant problem. Even after the traps were placed it did not eliminate the presence of ants.
Manager response:
We are sorry to read this review as we did offer to place traps that first night, but they declined. They were placed before 24 hours had lapsed. The owner is actively working on the ant situation. Thank you!

Thank you for the accommodation. The house was clean and well equipped for cooking if you like to chef out like me. We had one minor issue which was quickly looked after.
Vacasa was very pleasant to deal with. We will be using Vacasa again.

Great location and a short walk to downtown was very easy. The house was clean and comfortable and we all enjoyed our stay.

This cottage style home has been beautifully restored. Lovely hardwood floors, beveled glass windows, classic claw footed tub, wonderful fenced backyard and light, bright kitchen with a real cook's spice drawer. Great location.

Exceeded expectations with everything you need to have a great stay. Kitchen was stocked with seasonings, lots of cooking ware and sharp knives. Owners have put a lot of time into every detail in this charmer. Short walk to downtown Sandpoint with numerous shops, restaurants & pubs. Highly recommend.

This house was very comfortable and fun for our family of four. It would also be a nice romantic retreat for a couple.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook with; the family room has lots of seating and a cozy wood burning stove. The other family room was perfect for reading or playing guitar; Cute, old fashioned bathroom; dining room just right for four, laundry machines very convenient; back deck and yard fun for us all; the speaker system and tv were easy to use. The house was close to downtown, and had easy access to grocery store, as well as Schweitzer ski resort.
We came in the winter, bringing board games and planning to ski. We were delighted by this house. It was perfect for us.

This home was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen was stocked with anything you would need, I was totally inspired to cook while on holidays! The home is beautiful and as the name suggests, charming. A couple things, there was an issue with a key part of furniture... when I reported it they had someone come the next day to fix it but it didn't fix it at all. I tried texting the number provided and didn't get a response. Also, the bike trailer was such a huge draw for us, we were really looking forward to biking around town with our small kids but didn't get the opportunity because the bike trailer was missing a necessary piece to attach the trailer to a bike. I also texted about this with no response. Overall we had a fantastic stay, house is beautiful, totally suitable for two families, we had lots of room with just our one family of 4 and our pup. Great location and great value for the cost.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see there were some disappointments with this stay. Local management emailed the guest and provided them her contact number as well for assistance. We are sorry to see they felt they received no response. The bikes and trailer have been put away for the winter. Thanks!

Great house close to town. We walked to town and relaxed in the house. Enough room for a family of 5 with teens. Beds were adequate and comfortable. No where to put clothes so we just lived out of suitcases. They did not have TV only Netflix. The kitchen was well stocked and we used the basics. One bathroom was a little tricky but we managed. If you are coming in the winter, it is a 15 min drive to the ski slopes. I would stay here again.
Linda T. Oct 2017
The house has a great kitchen with all new appliances, and stylish living room, centrally located for fun downtown. Didn't get a chance to use the bikes, too bad.

This is a great place to stay in Sandpoint. A very nice house with lots of "old world charm". Super easy to walk or bike to groceries, and restaurants. Be sure to go to Winter Ridge Natural Foods, Evans Brothers Coffee and Inquire Within Bookstore.
Diana A. Aug 2017
Really nice house, with the added comfort of stand alone air conditioners in the most important rooms, especially important for the summer!

Only one bathroom, we were 3 people so it worked, but I would reconsider having a bigger family here, especially if you have a bathroom hog.

Loved our stay at this property in Sandpoint. It was a very hot weekend, and the house was warm at night. Upon mentioning this to the property manager, she promptly delivered three box fans. This was unexpected and appreciated!

We'll definitely check in this property again the next time we're in sandpoint knowing the staff will do whatever it takes to make sure our stay is as comfortable as possible.
