We very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was a short drive to Tahoe Donner Ski, was the perfect size for our family of 5 with a dog, and had lots of fun games for the kids. Kitchen was well-stocked. The outdoor space was great as well - with 6 feet of snow around, the kids (8 and 10 years old) were able to safely play in the slightly sloped back yard.

We were guests for one week in the summer and truly loved this home. It was spacious, had a good kitchen, hot water, wonderful deck, and very very comfortable beds! It's exactly what you expect from the images, (and yes, the furniture and carpet are a little worn in but it was all very cozy... We would definitely come back! I docked the review one star, ONLY because the Tahoe Donner amenities (pool, golf, tennis) were A) confusing to navigate, and B) it costs $16 per person to use the facilities. One day, we decided to use the Trout Creek pool (different from the Northwoods pool) and not only do you need reservations, you are only allowed in for 2 hours, until later thier "after hours" time of 5-7. This is not clear on the site and is pricey for a family of three for a short pool time. Additionally, the person who seemed to be in charge wasn't very nice about the confusion several people had when we were asked to leave. It's simply not a great reason to book the place.
That said, everything else was perfect. I truly enjoyed our experience.

This cabin was perfect for our group of friends and toddlers! There were lots of toys to occupy the little ones, and plenty of seating for the adults. Great location, good price, clean, comfortable with carpeted floors. We would stay here again!

This is a nice older Tahoe Donner cabin on the shady side of the resort. It is deceptively large except for the dining area. It is well equipped, the kitchen has almost everything a home kitchen would have. The house is clean, though the carpet and furniture is older, and the overall feel is darker due to both the architecture and the shade from the huge trees. The kitchen has been remodeled with new granite counters and everything worked great. It has a tankless hot water heater and we had no hot water issues, though we sequenced our showers. It is a great house for a family or we had our dog with use and it worked well. With an extra bed in the largest bedroom, it could work for either two families or a larger extended family. It should handle 8-10 guests. Access is easy, the driveway is fairly flat and the garage doors open with a code form outside making access and egress easy, though it does require climbing 5 steps into the house form either the garage or the front entry. The back yard is not very private as both the road and eh neighbor house are close. Also, pets in the yard must be watched closely due to the road and the neighbors.
Overall a good reasonable cost rental, took off one star for the location and the age/condition of the carpets and furniture.

It was a nice experience staying at the Truckee Mountain Retreat. We are a family of 6 and there was plenty of room to roam. Our big chocolate lab enjoyed it also. Lots of snow in the back yard to play in during our stay. It also snowed and it was amazing.

We had a great stay here, very spacious and comfortable for two families with four kids. Kids had their own room to watch movies while the adults could lounge around downstairs. Well equipped kitchen, enough to do a substantial amount of cooking. We were lucky enough to have snow while we were there so the kids could sled outside the back door, amazing! Would definitely come back.

Loved the tranquility from the deck; saw deer in the am; loved the space (upstairs bedrooms); it felt homey! ONLY drawback, for us- was that the house location- a bit close to the road, and no enclosed backyard- for the dog. YET, deck allowed for enclosure, and short distance from house, we found hiking, running and biking trails. Nice - upscale neighborhood too ! Would do this again!

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. We had everything we needed and plenty of room. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. Close to the lake and downtown. I would rent this place again.
