We loved our stay at 51 Grove in Bartlett, NH. The location was a perfect "base camp" for exploring in the Eastern Slope of the White Mountains. We loved the quiet residential character of Bartlett combined with ready access to the Kancamagus Highway and the White Mountains National Forest. The full kitchen was perfect for our needs. There was enough room in the living/dining area to feel cozy but not cramped. It was great having a washer and dryer; we packed light and refreshed mid week. We slept in the bedroom at the top of the house and the bed was very comfortable. After days of scrambling over the local rocky trails our sore backs and hips were supported and soothed by the excellent mattress. Both bathrooms have showers and water pressure was excellent. The unit was very clean and well kept. What I loved about the house: The quiet of Bartlett and walking distance to the Saco River. The laundry room-seriously. I had to bring some work with me and there is a work area with a desk chair. Bright windows face a bank of trees for a beautiful refreshing view. The dishwasher: it just made things easier. Great Internet. Things would tell my friends to be prepared for: this unit is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of a New England house with steep stairs. If you struggle with stairs this house might not be for you. This unit is not air conditioned which is typical for this part of New England. Bartlett is residential and has very little commerce not directly serving and supporting mountain activities, especially skiing. If you need groceries or like to shop on vacation those are available in nearby North Conway.
