Riverfront home w/ hot tub, firepit & 2 decks - ideal for fishing/rafting/hiking

Welcome to your River Retreat, begin and end each day on the shores of the Toccoa River at this four-bedroom Blue Ridge escape, a beautifully updated home with a private hot tub and firepit, two decks and a screened porch that overlook the river, and a wondrous waterfront position close to hiking, rafting, and fishing!

This welcoming home is perfectly secluded among the trees in the Aska Adventure Area of North Georgia, just 10 miles southeast of downtown Blue Ridge. Cast a line in the Toccoa River right outside your door, take family hikes to Fall Branch Falls (four miles west) and the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail at Springer Mountain (19 miles south), and hop on board your boat at the Lake Blue Ridge Marina (10 miles north) for a sun-splashed day on the water.

Even when you're not tubing, rafting, or fishing, the picture windows in the air-conditioned living space will keep the river at the center of your vacation. Whip up pancakes each morning in the updated kitchen (with stainless steel appliances and a dishwasher), sit down for breakfast at the farm table or out on the screened-in porch, and linger by the gas fireplace as you flip through the sports section. Spend the afternoon hours grilling outside on the river-facing deck or soaking your sore hiking legs in the private hot tub; each evening, you can tell stories around the firepit at the river's edge and retreat indoors for a night in the company of free WiFi, two cable TVs, a DVD player, and a VCR.

Escape to the quiet, wild beauty of the mountains of North Georgia - begin planning your vacation to Blue Ridge today!

We came to celebrate our sons high school graduation. We had such a great time fishing, tubing and just hanging out. This is such beautiful cabin, inside and out. Our favorite so far and we have stayed at plenty over the years! Thanks for making this a special memory we will treasure forever!

Loved being right on the river! And having everything we needed!
Jonathan W. Apr 2021
We really enjoyed the peaceful river. We were able to disconnect and unwind. Just exactly what we needed.

My family, along with my sister and her family, and my mom, so enjoyed our 4 days at this house. We all wished we had a few more days to stay as we packed up to leave. The location was the very best part of the house. Everyone loved sitting outside, fishing, and listening to and watching the water rush by. The weather was chilly and we loved the one touch fireplace the first two days (and then it mysteriously stopped working- but the weather had warmed up, so it was not really needed). We cooked Easter Lunch (there were not a lot of pots and pans, but we were able to make do with what was there). We made the short drive to Blue Ridge and bought fudge and other desserts, we hiked numerous nearby trails, soaked in the hot tub, and hid Easter eggs outside for the kids.
The beds were comfortable- the pillows were a little flat, but I just stacked 2. The spiral staircase was fine for us, but my mom slept on the main floor. The screened porch was a bonus we did not need, since the bugs were not yet biting (but would be wonderful in the summertime). It was truly a perfect long weekend getaway. We would definitely stay here again.
Manager response:
Hi, Stephanie! All of the pillows have recently been replaced, and we are adding a few more pots to the kitchen inventory. If guests turn the knob to the fireplace too far, it cuts off the pilot light which then needs to be relit. Please do not hesitate to call for assistance if this happens. Thank you so much for staying with us!

We enjoyed a 4 night stay over spring break. The house is well represented in the pictures and the location is conveniently located near the general store/restaurant. The beds have definitely seen better days (putting foam topper on the mattress isn't a great solution). Kitchen is well equipped and updated. Plenty of propane for the grill and I thought it was a really nice touch to include 2 bundles of wood to build a fire at night. Overall we'd definitely recommend but the ritz it is not.
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Joel! We are happy to hear that you had a great spring break! We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we'll pass your comments regarding bed comfort on to our management team for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Being right on the river was so relaxing! We sat by the fire pit and just watched the water! At night we opened the widow so we could hear the River. We got in the hot at night and just looked at the stars! We hope to return when it’s warmer!

The hot tub was just perfect with the river scenery was awesome! We loved having a fire pit for our s’mores ...

The cabin is in a great location and the river view is incredible. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We drove in Christmas Day and stayed through the néw year. There was a little snow on the ground when we arrived, but the roads in had been salted and were safe. We enjoyed seeing some snow! It warmed throughout the week so we were able to take advantage of the hot tub overlooking the river. The sound of the river never gets old and we enjoyed watching some folks fish. Had it not been rainy the nights we stayed in- we would’ve enjoyed the fire pit area outside. The location is in a great proximity to hiking, scenic drives, grocery/town, water sports, etc. We had dinner at Toccoa Riverside Restaurant right down the street and it was fantastic. So much so, we ordered more shrimp to go another night. It’s nice that it’s so close to the cabin if you don’t feel like cooking.
We did have a few hiccups during our stay, but the Vacasa team was easy to work with. The holidays interfered with the promptness, but that’s mostly out of anyone’s control.
Once we arrived we discovered every exit to the cabin besides the main one with the keypad was left unlocked. Being 2 females arriving in an unfamiliar home after dark was a bit frightening. While we were “securing the home” and both of us upstairs- the downstairs television turned on by itself. We thought someone was in the home. After realizing it was the tv, I went down to investigate. The downstairs tv had sound but no picture. It was obviously not working properly. Someone came the next night to take a look and confirmed the tv was irreparable. Due to the weather and the holiday it was the following day before it was replaced. In the meantime, I went out to light the grill to cook our steaks and the propane tank knob was broken. Fortunately, I was able to contact maintenance in time for them to take a look when they came to install the new tv. The tank was replaced that same day. A few days later the gas fireplace stopped working. We had been using it every day since we arrived and it worked fine. I called maintenance again for them to send someone out. He came, took a look and it seemed to be working fine when he left, but a few hours later it went out again. The pilot wouldn’t stay lit. We never did get it working again before we left. Also, the downstairs bedroom with the two queen beds is quite drafty. I think the door going outside needs some weatherstripping installed and that would correct that issue. We didn’t stay in that room because of that.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and tried to shake off the mishaps. It’s just frustrating that the day we planned to stay in and watch tv, the tv went out. The night we planned to grill steaks, I had to cook them in the skillet instead and the day we planned to hang by the fireplace- it didn’t work. I don’t really know how to correct these issues other than maybe doing an overall checklist before guests arrive?
Again, we enjoyed our stay and the proximity to the river was stellar, however I don’t know that we will be renting this cabin again. There are other cabins that have all these same amenities. We also normally bring our pups and this one does not allow dogs. We come to the area at least twice a year and stay a week, so having a pet friendly cabin is preferred anyway. My mom (75) also had a time navigating the spiral staircase inside to access her upstairs bedroom. The outside steps were not an option for her to use due to being iced over from the snow. We had other guest planning to arrive that needed the separate beds, otherwise she could have stayed downstairs. This is all pictured and stated in the description, however we weren’t counting on the ice. (Our mistake) Just mentioning it in case someone else doesn’t thinking about that while traveling with elders. I would recommend this cabin for the summer months. Great spot for the kiddos and adults alike.
Manager response:
Hello Dana, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have provided your valuable feedback to our local manager. They have had a technician to the home and the fireplace, remote, and pilot light are all working correctly. We are currently looking into the issues with the room being drafty. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope we can host you again.

We had the best time. The house was warm and all decorated for Christmas.....it was cold outside, but all snuggly inside...good time, we will definitely be back
Adam A. Dec 2020
Beautiful cabin, trees everywhere, the sound of river water hopping over the rocks joyfully was soothing. The customer service is exceptional. The customer service representatives were able to resolve all issues efficiently and effectively with outstanding professionalism.

The property was awesome. The river, fire pit and hot tub. Cute community with a couple of good restaurants.
Melanie M. Oct 2020
The setting is amazing - the river is just steps away from the porch. Enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and the inside fireplace. Kitchen was well equipped - with a second refrigerator upstairs. Loved our time there!
Joyce P. Oct 2020
The cabin was awesome. Lots of room and conveniences. Quiet and peaceful. I've stayed in several cabins, but none in such an amazing location. The best thing at all is the river. Our family group of 6 ranged in ages from 11 to 69. We all had a wonderful time! Hope to go back again!

River, river, river. 5 stars
Collin J. Sep 2020
WOW THE RIVER! The cabin is on the best rapids of the river that we tubed. It was nice to tube and pause at the cabin to grab snacks and then back to tubing. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. The hot tub was a popular spot for us every night. We will be coming back.
Nancy E. Jul 2020
The river was the star attraction. Our grandchildren enjoyed splashing about at the waters edge. We tubed and fished to our hearts delight. The tiny creek that fed into the river was also a source of fun.
Meredith W. Jul 2020
We loved the cabin for our visit to Blue Ridge for # adults and 6 kids! the location was perfect and we loved playing in the river!! Super clean cabin!! Will be back for sure!
Ioana P. Jun 2020
The cabin is beautiful with lots of space. Great place to hang out outdoor also. But lots of noisy tubers going by ... Otherwise great experience
Wendy C. Jun 2020
You can't get any closer to the River than here! Our family of 8 had plenty of space, plenty of beds, and the accommodations were much more than sufficient. Vecasa knows how to make guests feel 'At Home'.
Days spent hanging in the river fishing and floating, nights spent around the campfire roasting marshmallows, and a nightly dip in the hot tub - it just doesn't get better than this. Close to all surrounding activities, yet feels like you are secluded. We will certainly be back!
Stacy N. Jan 2020
The house, its amenities, and location are stellar -- and just as advertised. Being on the river was perfect for my family. We also loved being close to many hiking trails, not too far from town, and a 50-min drive to the amazing waterfall at Amicalola State Park. Well worth the drive!

I was also VERY pleasantly surprised at some of the little amenities included with the house. There was hand soap at every sink; the two kitchen areas had dish detergent, dishwasher soap, paper towels, and sponges; the bathrooms also had hotel set-ups of shampoo/conditioner and two small bars of soap and extra toilet paper. There was also plenty of towels. We rent houses every year in all different parts of the country through different companies, and I have never rented a house that included these cleaning/paper products. There were also white and black trash bags, laundry pods, and some spray cleaners that may have been left from previous renters, but the items mentioned above were brand new. A big help!

We arrived after dark, and the house was just a bit tricky to find --its driveway and the driveway for 8703 Aska Road share a break in a guardrail that during the day is easy to see, but at night it wasn't clear.

Overall a wonderful experience! We'd definitely rent again.

This home was perfect for our family of 6! The kids loved playing on the rocks in the river, taking a dip in the hot tub, and making s’mores over the campfire in the fire pit. The home was just a short drive to Blue Ridge, a few hiking trails, and just down the street from one of the best restaurants in the area. We would definitely stay here again!
Kathryn P. Aug 2019
We loved the location this year been going to this area 20 yrs . The only thing was not being able to bring my aging 4 legged family member 🐾
Troy S. Jul 2019
The best thing about the house is the section of the Tacco River and the fact the house is located just 30 feet from the river. Outdoor area is great. House was very clean, just a little small for a group of 10. I would stay at the house again.
Patricia B. Jul 2019
It is the 2nd Summer in a row we picked this home for our stay! The location is beyond fabulous!!!!! It is like no other!!!
Bryan P. Jul 2019
The house is directly on the Aska with a great beach, rocks to play on, great place to tube.

We spent our anniversary here and it was perfect! Quiet, relaxing, with beautiful scenery to enjoy. It is close enough to town and offers all the comforts of home, plus some! We will definitely be back!
Elmostafa E. Sep 2018
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Everything is great from the location right by the river to the spacious rooms, to the appliances, to the attention to every single detail.
I will definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Kay B. Apr 2018
Amazing home! Proximity to water was awesome! Also proximity to downtown is perfect! Feels like you are secluded for privacy but still close to everything! Parking was great! We will be back. This is an annual trip for our family!
Sarah A. Apr 2018
This house did not disappoint. Being next to the river was a choice I am glad we made. It was to cold to play in the water but we still enjoyed it much. The house was big enough for my family and my mother in-laws family. The hot tub, river, and outdoor fire pit we stayed at the cabin a few days to enjoy and not go out on the town. The indoor fireplace went out and we called and they where their that day to fix it. The customer service was great, they answered any concerns I had.

Everything was nice and clean.only thing I would have liked is a better lock on that back door.not child friendly really.may I suggest a iron and high chair would have been nice.we will be back
Carlos J. Jun 2017
Our stay at this cabin was amazing! The house was clean and well-stocked, the hot tub worked perfectly and the location was...well, it was breathtaking. Our entire family enjoyed playing/fishing in the river, boating in Lake Blue Ridge, catching fireflies on the back deck, making s'mores in the fire pit and just enjoying the beautiful scenery of the mountains from the cabin. It was a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back.
Erin G. Jun 2017
We had a great time at this cabin. As two families traveling together we really appreciated the split design and having two kitchen areas. The location on the river was excellent. The only thing I would suggest would be a new hair dryer because the one there did not work, but luckily another person in our party had brought one. Other than that, this was an excellent trip and we will be back!!
Robert P. May 2017
Very nice place for four old flyfishing geezers to rest up, share few drinks, a few laughs, and stories of the day. Outside of town, but not too far out. Rooms more than adequate. Needs a few more wine (not champagne) glasses. A curtain or some kind of shade for the sliding glass door upstairs also would be nice. Outside decks are great, as is screened-in porch. Great view of the river. Restaurant down the road (about a mile) is very good. On-line rental process was painless (prompt communication). All-in-all, this is a keeper.
Jason F. Apr 2017
The cabin is fantastic! Great access to the river and the cabin has everything you need. Company is very accommodating and responsive.
Cathy S. Jan 2017
THINGS WE LOVED AND APPRECIATED: Location and view on the river with easy access roads all the way to the driveway. Cabin is only 50 ft from rivers edge and great firepit only 25 ft from rivers edge. Great decking with view. Hot tub. Gas fireplace easy to use. Comfortable living areas and nice new kitchen downstairs. Great little general store within walking distance with a cafe IRON BRIDGE ... friendly folks and a great breakfast. NOT SO LOVED: Loud washing machine. Spiral staircase needs non slip treads or grips ... one of the adults fell while wearing socks. Upstairs tub (left side room) is slippery, needs grip strips like downstairs tub. WI-FI is not good. Really hate that the upstairs sliding door has no locking mechanism ... aggravating to have to go down the spiral stairs, instead of the awesome wood stairs and deck upstairs, when leaving and then having to enter and go up the spiral staircase to 'remove the stick' that serves for locking the sliding door. The beautiful screened porch floor was constantly wet even when the weather was dry ... I believe there is no moisture barrier under the concrete so it 'sweats'. Hot tub was not ready when we arrived, only 81 degrees. Ran out of gas for fireplace and took a day to get the tank refilled. Garbage was not picked up in a 10 day period. We called on the 8th day. The upstairs kitchen is bare. We never found any instructions for the hot tub, or tv's ... we were able to figure them out after several tries. In a nutshell it seems the advance prep was not good at all. Huge gas tank but obviously was almost empty when we arrived ... no one checking and prepping the hot tub. GOTTA SAY WE TRULY ENJOYED OUR STAY inspite of the negatives ...

Everything needed was there.
