Tucked away between a vineyard and the river, this house provided an ideal escape. With all the supplies you need to enjoy the river, there was more than enough to do when spending the day at the house.

Relaxing is the first word that comes to mind when staying at The Last Resort. The quaintness of this home offers all the comforts of home and plenty of room to entertain. The easy access to the river is wonderful. The view was breathtaking as the trees offered privacy and the peeks of the road and river offered entertainment. Thank you for opening up your home and allowing us to make happy memories at The Last Resort.

The fire pit at the bottom of the stairs was awesome for a s'mores session with the kids. The way the house was nestled in the trees and having access to a washer n dryer was a plus. Goat rock beach and school house beach about 20 mins away, were great for adventure.

If your dream stay involves a rustic cabin along the river, there’s a lot to like about this place. I was actually surprised by the full river view from the back of the home. We were there in March and the trees didn’t have many leaves yet so perhaps the view is more obscured in the summer— but this is a riverfront, river VIEW home. Access to the little beach is accurately described. It’s right there, just a few steps down the path. The home could definitely use some updates. Working heat (not space heaters) would be nice. They could also use more usable flatware. The outdoor patio space is large but not well lit (except for security motion triggered lights) and the grill has seen better days. Only half would light until we stuck a match in the right side to ignore it manually. Use of kayaks sounded awesome... but alas, would’ve required way too much cleaning to make usable. Beds were not comfortable. Between rickety frames and old mattresses, it was hard to get comfortable. We also didn’t find much to love about the town of Guerneville itself... but again, we were there during the off season. All that said, we needed a getaway where life felt quieter and our kids could explore for a few days— and this place provided that. It would be unfair to be overly critical since one of our criteria was finding a budget-friendly rental. You always get what you pay for!!
Hi, Trisha! The grill is currently working, but we are looking into purchasing a new one. The kayaks will be cleaned this spring, and new flatware has been purchased. Thank you!

Our favorite spaces during the winter stay were around the two fire places. The larger we used at night, while the pot belly we used minimally in the morning while we watched the river come to life. Access to a private space along the Russian River gave us plenty of time to wander and practice our rock skipping techniques. Evening grilling and watching small fishing boats tour the river was a bonus. We will have to return during the summer.

To say we loved The Last Resort is an understatement. Having river access, plenty of room to spread out, amazing fireplace, and complete amenities made our vacation unbelievably comfy and cozy. We are already looking to book again during the Summer! Thanks again Last Resort, you made my Christmas gift one to remember!

Whenever we visit Guerneville we stay at the Last Resort! We love it so much! Beautiful home that has so much to offer! Kayaks, ideal location on the river, cozy rooms, and everything you need in a home away from home!

The property was as expected. We enjoyed it.!

Such a cozy place to stay. Completely wooden inside, humongous picture windows over looking the river and orchard. Cabin like in its elegance. Huge outdoor patio for entertaining not to mention they have kayaks and floaties galore!

Great access 50 yds from river, armstrong redwoods 5 min away. lots of room. Would have liked the floors to have been mopped & not just swept when we arrived (the fine silt from the river is like fine sand). It's a rustic cabin that has been someone's family retreat - we appreciated that.
Thank you for staying with us! We apologize for the house not being cleaned as thoroughly as is our standard. Please know that local staff is available to assist with any cleanliness issues you encounter while in the home. We hope to get the chance to host you again! Thank you.

My boys absolutely loved the trip. The house has everything you need and is in good condition. The view from the breakfast table is absolutely beautiful. Lots of water supplies (tubes, kayaks etc) were available. Wonderful spot.

This is a gorgeous house right above the river. Ideal place for family with kids, backyard has a playground area, river is literally steps away, and kayak and floating devises are available on site.

We loved the big yard with easy access to the river. It felt like living in a big redwood tree house with large windows to look out. Super easy and casual with everything you need including a washer and dryer. We will return again & again.

My sister and I vacationed in Rio Nido as young teenagers and wanted to go back and re-visit. Wow, what a perfect place! We had 2 dogs which were welcome. It is like your private beach! My husband enjoyed the kayak and my sister and I loved floating in the inner tubes! Home had everything we needed, Highly recommend!!

4 guests and I stayed in "The Last Resort" in June 2019 for 2 nights. We loved the privacy (gated) and convenience of the location to all our planned activities. Accomodations were comfortable and clean for the most part. The top bunk of the bunkbed was difficult to get to as the bed was positioned so the rungs were right next to the wall, leaving inadequate space to get up for even a small adult. Also I was told the bunk bed mattresses were not adequately comfortable. We chose to cook almost all meals there, and the kitchen had basic supplies as listed but nothing more. Lids were missing from pots, knifes were not sharp, and not much available for spices or condiments so plan accordingly if you decide to cook here. All of the kitchen appliances are operational. The Vacasa Home Guide lists kayaks and bicycles as being available, but unfortunately the bicycles were not when we stayed. Despite the minor inconveniences, it was a wonderful trip and lasting memories were made.

The house is nicely decorated, has a beautiful view and lots of space very centrally located in Sonoma county so easy to do a lot of things. The coast, redwoods, winery tours all within 15 to 45 minutes plus the river access gives you a vacation home that everyone can love. The town has some nice shops and there are some great restaurants with 20 minutes. You won't regret staying at this home

Great location right on the river. Loved the kayaks and grounds. House a little unclean and beds uncomfortable, but other than that, the place was great for our family of four.
We are so happy that you enjoyed the location of the home! We are sorry that you did not find the beds to be comfortable. We are also sorry that it was not properly cleaned. This is never what we want to hear and does not meet the standards that we hold our homes to. We are following up with our local staff to ensure that any cleanliness issues are addressed. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to host you again soon!

Our family of five loved “The Last Resort”. The short distance to beach access was great. We especially loved tubing down the river. It was awesome to find tubes, kayaks, and life vests to use on the river as part of the rental. We would love to visit again.

This home was great for a weekend getaway for three couples. It felt private with it being at the end of the road and right on the river. The windows in the living room lookout to the river providing a indoor connection with the wilderness.

This was an unbelievable spot for a vacation. Located extremely close to the Russian River (a short walk from the back staircase and lawn) with its own small beach head. Cozy and accommodating. Plenty of space to relax, with an amazing view from the paneled glass walls facing the river. Only a short drive from town. Couldn't recommend it enough. 🤙🏽
