Having an opportunity to visit this wonderful place in a truly unique home. There are so many interesting things about this place. We really loved the kitchen and being able to visit, cook and enjoy the area.

Great place, very private setting, convenient to mad river activities like swimming holes, hiking, warren general store, mad taco and other great restaurants. Only slight negative is lighting in the house is very complicated. Bank of switches on each wall and still hadn't figured out how to work the lights by the time we left after 5 days. But other than that, great.

Upper Pines Lodge was the perfect place from which we explored Vermont. An hour to Burlington, an hour to Middlebury and 40 minutes to Stowe, the lodge was centrally located. We passed cyclists everyday so this would be the perfect place for sports enthusiasts to stay to explore the local areas especially the Lincoln Pass. Just a few minutes from Sugarbush ski resort, the lodge would be perfect for a group or family of skiers. Extremely well appointed, the lodge is a luxurious home with everything you need for a wonderful vacation.

Had a lovely time at this home. The beds were so comfortable! The house was giant and loved the big shower and jet tub! Kid friendly and great for larger parties. No complaints at all!

Magnificent views and the kitchen is a cook or baker's dream. Top of the line everything. Very comfortable house with amazing lighting! We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the wrap around deck.

Classic, timeless ski chalet with all the modern conveniences. 5 min drive to Sugarbush/Lincoln Peak. Awesome property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Upper Pines Lodge with our college aged kids. The home is unique and has plenty of space for cooking meals in the kitchen, big family dinners, games, and relaxing by the fireplace. There’s also ample space for ski gear and the house is only a short drive to the mountain. We would come back.

We loved the location, design of the house, amazing kitchen, the views and how clean it was. It was absolutely one of the best places we have stayed at. The house was so unique.

WOW this house is absolutely beautiful. One of the nicest home rentals I have ever done. We came up to ski at Sugarbush for the weekend with 8 of our friends. It fit everybody with plenty of room to spare. Would highly recommend.

Was a perfect house for our ski weekend getaway with 2 families. Located right down the road from Sugarbush. Great layout with big dining room table and lots of space to lounge around. Kitchen had everything you could possibly want to cook with. Would definitely rent again and love to see the wrap around deck in the summer!

This house was perfect: clean, original, warm, spacious, with all the amenities you would wish for. My youngest children were amazed by the toys, my older enjoyed the perfectly equipped kitchen, and I thought the deck was the perfect place to meditate and read. The bathrooms are modern and efficient. The beds are comfortable. We will come back!

This home is just perfect! Architecturally, it's beautiful, the owners have thought of everything you'd need to be comfortable, great for families (you just need to be careful about the stairs) and, its in a great location for sightseeing, skiing, or just relaxing. We had 8 adults and 3 young children and our stay was wonderful!

Spacious and warm, this is well thought out house. Radiant heat is nice on the feet!
Great location near Sugarbush/MRG. Neighbors aren't too close, great views. All in all, a superior experience.

This is a beautiful home close to the mountain. We really enjoyed the open layout, large dining room table, and the large family room. Having an extra den came in handy for those who wanted to watch the Patriots win!

10 of us made a plan to gather to celebrate the New Years in Warren, VT. I spent HOURS scouring for just the right home and must admit was giving up hope when I changed my parameters one last time and The Upper Pines Lodge appeared on my screen. With exactly room for 10 and happy to accept my two dogs I knew I had found "the one." 5 months later when we opened the door to Jack's lodge we could not have been more delighted. The house was warm and welcoming and the ideal backdrop for our New Year's Eve festivities. We skied most days and then rushed back to the home to relax, play games, and sip wine by the fire(s). We stashed the four kids on the top floor to sleep and, as city kids, they were over the moon happy to have their own private kid space. And the master suite was pretty much as big as our apartment. This home is NOT your average rental and the owner is uber attentive to the details about his home but also to you as a renter. He was always available for questions and even answered some questions before you had them - mind reader! It is a special place worthy of a special occasion or will make any occasion special just by being there.

You can't even go to a luxury hotel and have them think of as many things for you as Jack has done for guests at this getaway. Details are key for a successful getaway and there are none that have been missed. EVERYTHING is documented. I did not have to call Jack a single time to figure out anything in the house. You literally can go to this place and have everything you need to enjoy yourself. Obviously bring food and stuff, let's be realistic. But the views, the new deck, the radiant heating, the steam shower, the incredibly comfortable beds... I could go on and on. A family or a bunch of friends, regardless of your crew, will definitely be able to enjoy themselves here however you want. You will still be wowing things in this place the day you leave. Absolutely worth it. Even if minimal time will be spent in the place, it's worth having the peace of mind that someone else already did all the thinking for your lodging needs.

Each year a group of us from college rent a house in Vermont for a long weekend with our families. We had a group of 7 adults this year and found this home on the web. The house was amazing, beautifully designed and built. The large steam shower was perfect after an all day hike. We cooked all weekend in the gourmet kitchen, and spend the evenings in the living room with a roaring fire. The house is filled with beautiful antiques and quilts, however was completely kid friendly, accommodating the 3 children under the age of 4 that were with us. We are hoping to come again next year and beyond.
