Dog-friendly cottage with private hot tub - steps to downtown!
This petite cottage is located right near the excitement of downtown Saugatuck, but it has all the atmosphere of a relaxing escape. The open and bright interior has a mood-enhancing effect the moment you step inside. And with a private, year-round hot tub in the backyard, this is a welcoming in-town getaway in all seasons. Perhaps the greatest draw is the home's peaceful backyard sanctuary. Whether you're enjoying a meal or reading in solitude, time spent on the back deck will make you forget you're in town. Ivy spills over the fence into a calming water feature, making for some beautiful scenery.
What’s nearby: With the heart of downtown Saugatuck less than half a mile south, you can walk to all the great dining, shopping, and fun activities in town, or pack up the car for a quick trip to the area's excellent beaches on Lake Michigan. The ever-popular Oval Beach, the quieter Douglas Beach, and beautiful Saugatuck Dunes State Park are all less than four miles away.

The house is in a great location in Saugatuck and right downtown. This is an investment rental home. It is well worn and needs updating. I don't feel like the owners use this home often or they would know. It was clean but we did pick up dog hair on our clothing - it is dog friendly. Many pieces of the furniture is well worn, nicked, finish worn off due to frequent cleanings and needs updating. The finish on the kitchen table is worn off in parts and you will find this in many of the pieces around the house. It is a highly used house and either the management or owners need to put some attention into the house. The hot tub was not working upon arrival and during the entire stay and the local operations manager did have someone come out to confirm. I appreciate it. It was mentioned the hot tub costs would be credited. I hope this will happen. The lower rack of the dishwasher is missing most of the wheels to roll out, it will not roll. You have to lift it out to put dishes in and lift it back in. I do not believe this happened between last guest and our stay. The shower (only shower) head was broken and spraying water everyone and not really functional. If the cleaners used the shower head to clean the shower, this would have been clearly evident. Sent a video to Vacasa showing situation and and stated it needs to be replaced. No response from them on this issue. Either there is a disconnect with the cleaners to management or the effort is not being put in to maintain the house between owners and management. Would I stay in this home again? No.
Were any of the issues critical? No......Maybe the shower head since it was the only shower in the house. It was frustrating using the shower but it is more indicative of the condition, care and responsiveness toward the house.

Great location very nice home.

Definitely a nice cozy place to stay for a couple days. Perfect for my husband and I and our little dog. Had a little issue when we arrived at our time to check in. The cleaning lady was still there and upon entering the house our code didn’t work. But was resolved pretty much immediately. Would definitely visit again.
Hi Samantha, thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback, we are glad to hear you enjoyed the amenities and location of our home with your dog. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced upon checking in to the home, and we are glad that it was solved immediately. The owner provided ample cooking ware, dishes, and glassware. The Wolf stove was wonderful to use except the far left burner wasn’t working. I am familiar with Wolf ranges and it should be fixed as gas could leak from the burner without knowing it. Plenty of towels provided and the queen size bed and bedding was very comfortable. The place is ideal and within walking distance to town. One drawback is no washer or dryer. The backyard has a nice sitting area; would be even nicer if they pruned it and cut back some of the vegetation. The entry locking mechanism provides comfort knowing the locks are changed with each new visitor.

Birthday getaway memories in the cutest cottage! The best location spot for a quiet and comfy family getaway.

Relaxing 3 days exploring area. Old home with some quirks, uneven floor, cracked shutters, messy garden. Great location, easy to walk to Butler street.
Jonathon S.Jun 2022
Small place. None of the rooms offer much privacy, but the kitchen is really nice.
Jonathan, thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback, we are pleased to hear that the home was cozy for you and your party! We apologize if there was any confusion with the size of our home when it came to our listing and will relay this information to our local team to look into. Thank you!

This house was great and just what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle of Detroit for a weekend. Saugatuck is a great town in Summer and was loads of fun during the winter (when we went) too.
Robyn I.Jan 2022
This house is very cute and was great for what we needed. We love that it was close to town, and that we could walk pretty much everywhere. The only big complaint is that the beds are incredibly firm, so much so that my husband and I took turns sleeping on the couch. Also, this not a huge deal, but we found it strange that the stove and refrigerator were absolute top of the line, but the cabinets were made very cheaply, they didn't have the best look. Again, not too important, just odd.

This cozy, quaint, and quiet home was just what we needed to get away from the busy city. My husband and I loved the location (close to restaurants and shops, but far enough to be private and secluded). It was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was fantastic. The house had all the amenities we needed. The beds were not the most comfortable, but suited us just fine.

This was one of the nicest homes we've stayed in. Wonderfully equipped kitchen with top end appliances, very comfortable climate control, on a quiet street, and easily walkable to downtown Saugatuck. More room than we needed (just two of us), so a bigger group would fit in just fine. Book with confidence!

Awesome location in downtown Saugatuck just far away from hustle / bustle

We really enjoyed our time at the Cozy Hideaway on our recent trip to Saugatuck. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves during our little vacation. It is also located within walking distance of restuarants and shopping.

Perfect for family of 4/5 or just a couples getaway. Very clean close to town. Highly recommend
Leslie O.Jan 2021
The house was comfortable and cottagy cute. Kitchen had most of the equipment we needed for great meals. Location is convenient to the river front and stores and restaurants.
Catherine O.Dec 2020
Location is perfect. But that is where it ends.
But this house truly needs TLC. The front door is not aligned and doesn't close properly. Our first night was completely sleepless, as the door slammed in the wind all night long.
The Wi-Fi did not work we drove to Holland to buy a portable device and straps to hold the door in place. On Christmas day we went to bake dinner and discovered mouse droppings all over the kitchen covering the plates, microwave, pots and pans. After further inspection we realize this was a known concern, with mouse traps and tucked away in the cabinets. Our Christmas dinner had to be discarded. I spent more time cleaning and sanitizing this home than enjoying Christmas with my family. Had I known, there was a mouse infestation, I would have canceled. This is not sanitary, yet they rented it anyway. I did phone Customer Service. They apologized and said they would note it. I also stayed back and waiting for the cleaning crew, so I could advise them. This was my first Vacasa stay. Not impressed.
Hello Catherine, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize for the issues you had during your stay, as this is not the high standard of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that we hold ourselves to. We have provided your valuable feedback to our local manager. The kitchen has been deep cleaned and the issues with mice have been addressed. We have repaired the storm door and the wifi is working. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope we have the chance to impress you in the future.

We always have fun in Saugatauk. Most of the time stay at bed and breakfast but this time opted for rental house. This house was just perfect! 3 bedroom but very cozy. Very upscale appliances and furnishings; nice since it rained all Friday and Saturday so we were stuck indoors Lots of windows for great scenery to view on nice street. Just an easy, relaxing place to enjoy our friends On a weekend get together.
Carrie N.Oct 2020
This home was charming and ideally located, but in need of overall dusting and some improvement to scuff marks and dents on the walls. The home is billed as being able to sleep eight people, which would be a very tight fit considering that most of the sleeping quarters are in the attic with a reduced-height ceiling. For three of us, the space was the perfect size, and the outdoor areas (the pond with a fountain!) are just darling.

Stayed with 3 other women for the week and this place is absolutely delightful. It's older and has a little character to it, the location is perfect, it was clean and beautiful upon arrival. The furniture and all of the beds are very comfortable and we slept great, shower pressure was amazing, I had to work remotely and the wifi was stable. We had an issue with the oven not working but Molly from Vacasa was awesome and sent a tech over who quickly identified the issue. I wish it had a washer and dryer but it doesn't change my rating or our overall experience of the home and would have made it even harder to leave. We HATED leaving. Amazing and definitely a "Cozy Hideaway".
Malea G.Sep 2020
This house was in a great location and overall wonderful place to stay! It was within walking distance of nearly everything that Saugatuck has to offer. Small yard, but we loved the deck and patio space and the hot tub was amazing! It was my husband and I along with our toddler and two dogs. Plenty of space and well maintained, including the hot tub, which was very clean. We appreciated all the amenities. The appliances were nice. The only thing missing was a washer and dryer to use. The shower had great water pressure, but does need some maintenance as there was water standing in the tub when showering. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the home included, bath towels, wash clothes, toilet paper, paper towel, trash bags, dish soap and dish washer tabs, as well as utensils, plates, glasses, and bedsheets and extra blankets too. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
Cindy B.Aug 2020
Hi, Cindy! Thank you for sharing your experience. We apologize housekeeping was lacking for your stay and we wish you had reached out to us during your stay as we could have provided a portable AC unit to make your stay more comfortable. We confirm the garden is being maintained on a monthly basis and bushes have been trimmed. We hope for a chance to impress you in the future!

Proximity to town was excellent
Great outdoor area!

Home super clean with everything you need for a fun visit! Short walk to many shops and activities.
John T T.Jul 2020
Loved the house, loved the location, and loved Saugatuck. We really appreciated that they owners allowed us to bring our two dogs. We made sure that we treated their property with respect. Definitely would recommend the location. One small suggestion would be to consider a small ac unit for the front bedroom upstairs as doesn’t cool down easily.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, John. We are glad you enjoyed your stay! We appreciate you letting us know there is room for improvement, and we'll pass your suggestions to the owner for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

Loved staying in this cottage- so close to everything! Kids loved the upstairs area and we all loved the backyard and hot tub. It was also so nice to bring our dog with us. Would definitely stay again!

Good location, comfortable bed, good water pressure. Wish it was a little cleaner inside and out.

If there are any concerns or areas in need of additional attention, we hope to be notified so we can make sure any issues are addressed. We look forward to hosting you for a great stay in the future!

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well stocked with essentials. We walked to town to eat and shop (just a couple blocks) and hiked around the parks. The hot tub was and house were both clean. We are a tall family: be aware that the upstairs ceilings are low and require some ducking going up the stairs. The upstairs bathroom is very tiny, but good enough if needed in the middle of the night. Thank you for sharing this very quaint and well-furnished cottage!
Caitlin was phenomenal - responding to questions in a very knowledgeable way, and also very timely! What a wonderful visit to this cozy home! A quick walk to downtown to enjoy all of the shops and dining, but also a perfectly comfortable space to stay in and play games. We enjoyed the spacious outdoor area and beautiful hot-tub! A quick taxi ride to the Haunted Tour of the Felt Mansion was also a high lite of our trip! The property was cozy and just as described. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the home and the inviting decor. The hot tub and spacious outdoor space did not disappoint. Just walking distance to downtown, it was perfect!
There were 6 of us. The house was decorated very cute. The hot tub was great! Location was great. The third bedroom is a loft and would not be good for light sleepers. We loved it!
Our stay was wonderful. We really appreciate all the accurate information and willingness to provide any support and information we requested. Many thanks.
Caitlin Bales was very helpful.
This cozy house is located within walking distance of downtown Saugatuck and a short drive from several great beach locations. The backyard patio is shaded and fenced in for privacy. This compact house is great for a weekend with friends or your family.
Adorable spot! Walk to all the best that Saugatuck has to offer, perfect getaway with our kiddos.

We came for a very short weekend for St Paddys. The house was perfect, super cute and we loved the hot tub. Would suggest a cute sign on the 1/2 bath as it took us a while to find it. Very comfortable and it had everything we could want. Would definitely stay here again. We were able to walk to everything.

My family has a cottage and I've been coming up to Saugatuck for years. The 5 days I stayed was for my wedding and since other members of our family stayed at the cottage we needed to find a place to stay. The cozy cottage was more than we could have asked for. I don't think I've ever had a smoother and quicker check in. Getting into the home was very simple and it was extremely clean. It's called the Cozy Cottage but it's very spacious with an open floor plan and nice outdoor area. The kitchen appliances seem to be brand new! Walking distance to everything downtown. You just can't beat it!

My wife and 2 children, ages 21 and 17 stayed at the Cozy Hideaway. We had a wonderful time. It's a short walk to all stores and restaurants in Saugatuck. The house was nice. We really liked the hot tub.
