The three-level, Mountain Hound Lodge is an authentic log home in Western Maine. Gourmet cooking will be an absolute breeze in the stunning kitchen, which is fully equipped with every possible amenity and top of the line appliances. The open main floor, warmed by a masonry fireplace, is an excellent setting to host family/friends, all while holding court in the kitchen. There are two dining areas as well as an incredible live edge bar top with plenty of seating for all. A screened porch allows for a comfy summer dining (and cocktails) spot. And after a fun day on the slopes, come back home to enjoy a soak in the hot tub with a cocktail while looking up at the starry sky.
What's nearby: The beautiful town of Bethel is just eight miles away with amazing restaurants, taverns, and great shopping! For skiing, the family-friendly Mt. Abram ski area is close by, while the Sunday River ski area is only 14 miles door-to-door. There are quite a few local rental shops nearby for ski equipment or any other outdoor activity you could possibly think of. In the summer months, there are several local waterholes/waterfalls nearby as well as excellent hiking/mountain biking trails. Guests also have access to Greenwood Public Beach in South Pond, a three-minute drive from the cabin, where you can spend summer days swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and boating.

This place has everything, I mean EVERYTHING you’ll need for a pleasant stay. The whole set up & decor makes it feel warm and inviting. It is fully equipped with Nespresso machine, pods, regular coffee machine, toaster, toaster oven, microwave, popcorn maker I mean the list goes on. They have utensils for cooking and eating. Pots, pans, skillets, tons of glass cups and really cool plates and bowls. They had a brand new sponge and small dish soap right at the beautiful copper sink. Tons of spices to cook with as well. The side yard with fire pit, grill, and jacuzzi. My only critique would be more of a sturdier chair for around the fire pit the plastic ones kind of get stuck in the pebbles & sinks in. Also if they had some more lighting in the side yard over by the picnic table. Other than that I mean this place an awesome location. The back yard of the screened in porch is so cute and set up for some fun lawn games and sitting area. I would 1000% recommend to anyone looking for a quite, private getaway.

We had a great time! The house was comfortable and roomy. We loved sitting out on the lanai having our coffee in the morning. The lighted trees in the house gave off a cozy vibe. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub! Thanks again 😊

We had a great stay. Really clean and well equipped (salt, pepper etc). Stayed at the cabin with relatives and 5 small children. They lived the loft space and the yard. We loved the hot tub, and the local lake was great for children with a lovely sandy beach with extensive shallows and clear water.

This house is amazing. Has everything you could need, super clean and comfortable. Kitchen range makes any meal a breeze. Lots of different seating areas to hang out, both inside and outside. Would rent again.

Loved our stay at the cabin! The pics represent the property really well. Tons of creature comforts and amenities you wouldn't even expect. A full kitchen with all the cooking utensils, pots/pans, spices and stuff you could think of. Can get pretty warm in the bedrooms at night in the summer without central air but just be prepared for that. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfectly sized for any group from 2-12. Our family of 4 plus pooch had a perfect couple of days here. Even the dog was comfy! The bedrooms upstairs were neat, clean and warm. Downstairs the kitchen was large and easy to navigate; I can see cooking some elaborate meals here (even though the most complicated thing we cooked was eggs!). The living room is spacious but very cozy, especially when you get the wood burning fireplace going! The hot tub was clean and running when we got there and ready for a family dip. It was the perfect compliment to the cold mountain air. Would recommend and will likely return!

We loved our stay at the lodge! It was great to be able to bring our pup along, especially having the fenced-in yard. The lodge is secluded enough to be peaceful and private but also close enough to amenities. We enjoyed stargazing, checking out the beautiful views from the top of the hill the house is on, and cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. We can’t wait to visit again in the summer!

This house is wonderful! AC was on when we arrived on a very hot day. They are very welcoming of dogs, and there were so many spots to spread out and be cozy. And of course the hot tub! We loved our stay. The beds were all top notch too!

My family stayed for 9 days and loved every moment of it! The house is beautiful and it is so quiet there! The hot tub was an amazing plus since the lake was a little cold this time of year. That didn't stop us from enjoying what felt like a private beach. We usually travel to the Mediterranean every summer and we have the mention that the lake was gorgeous and crystal clear! We can't wait to plan a visit back to the house in the winter as well! If you like the cook, the kitchen has everything you might need! I also want to mention that I am highly allergic to dogs and the house was so well cleaned that I didn't have any issues at all! The yard and lawn were great for the kids to run around, look for toads and play Bocce ball!

We had the best time at Mountain Hound Lodge! The house was clean and beautiful with very thoughtful touches. There was every kitchen appliance you could dream of including a smores maker, a ton of games, comfy seating in every room, comfy beds and a beautiful outdoor area. It's not only pet friendly, it's a dog's vacation too. There were dog bowls, tons of doggie decorations, and a great fenced in yard in the back. The house is off a very quiet private (dirt road) street and there was what felt like miles of woods surrounding the house. We've never seen so many stars at night before! We had the best time.

Wow! We were blown away by how gorgeous this cabin was! Not only was the inside of the home like a magazine, the area was stunning! Mountains and lakes everywhere! Would stay here again and again! Winter or summer, it’s perfect for every season! We felt right at home, and were able to settle in quickly. I also loved cooking in the fancy kitchen, felt like an iron chef! Very clean and beautiful! Not to mention a hot tub for stargazing! We got to stay out and watch shooting starts every night! Our dog had the best vacation with us! We will be returning in the future!
